One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 886 - 884: Integration
Igor felt at this moment that he had found a source. Perkins's peculiar state was very likely connected to the Tree Spirits.
Those events seemed unrelated at first, but in reality, they had certain roots.
Igor took a deep breath.
Every word Perkins said, Igor carefully chewed over. There was a connection here, and the key point of that connection was blood.
Igor had heard a lot about Tree Spirits at Yonder Travel Academy. Tree Spirits were Alien Species, they had lived in the woods for ages, and it seemed like heaven and nature were one with them. They coexisted with nature, and their ability to empathize with nature was a hundred times stronger than that of humans. They could even wield Natural Force...
The power of Tree Spirits was immense, yet it was entirely different from the way human Adventurers with Class employed. Humans perceive Spirit Power and then use it to unleash various skills, but the prerequisite is a comprehension of Spirit Power, while the Tree Spirits were different—they seemed to be naturally capable of using these skills.
This is the advantage of the Tree Spirits, and it's where human world Adventurers most dread them. Any random Tree Spirit can crush an Adventurer with Class, plus these Tree Spirits rarely leave the Alfalfa Forest; they seem to exist and perish with it.
Of course, under normal circumstances, they won't bother humans, yet humans frequently harass them...
The two Alien Species of the Vero Realm are both the kind that don't interact with humans, yet humans insist on provoking them...
This truly is an odd thing. Whether it's the Tree Spirits or Water Spirits, they rarely initiate attacks on humans. Humans just stupidly provoke them, and the main issue is that humans can't defeat them.
Igor's mind wandered. He was supposed to think about Perkins's special issue, but as he pondered, his thoughts drifted to Tree Spirits and Water Spirits...
"Why are you asking about these things!" Perkins suddenly realized Igor's question was somewhat abrupt; he thought it had nothing to do with proving he wasn't an Adventurer with Class.
"Don't you think your current situation is quite similar to that of the Tree Spirits?"
"Hmm? How is it similar? They're a group of beings integrated with trees, I'm human, hardly anything like them."
"But Tree Spirits also don't need to understand capabilities to use Natural Force, and you too don't need to perceive Spirit Power to do what Adventurers with Class do, isn't this quite similar?" Igor said, this commonality was really a bit similar.
"Aren't I an Apothecarist?" Perkins felt this reason was somewhat unreliable, yet he didn't know how to explain his condition, as even he couldn't quite grasp it.
"Let's consider other reasons then." Igor scratched his head. He had thought through a lot, although now he felt that the Tree Spirit conclusion from earlier was the closest one, but he still had to persuade Perkins.
"What other reasons could there be? I'm honestly puzzled about how I can participate in your magic, because I'm not an Adventurer with Class!" After calming down, Perkins finally realized that he too was quite surprised. After all, such matters seemed normal when immersed in it, but looking back, they indeed felt a bit strange. This strangeness he couldn't comprehend, because according to normal theories, such things couldn't be explained.
Igor was now helping him find a reason to explain this strange phenomenon.
"Is it possible that when you were tested, they made a mistake and actually, you were someone capable of perceiving Spirit Power, but they wrongly declared that you couldn't enter the door of Adventurers with Class?" Igor said, this reason he had just thought of, so he casually spoke.
"Absolutely impossible, that's impossible, let me tell you, you must know, this incident had a huge impact on me, therefore I didn't believe this result at first either, you should be able to understand that kind of pain, me aspiring to be an Adventurer, yet the test claimed I couldn't even reach the entrance of being an Adventurer with Class, so how could I accept such a thing, hence I forced them to redo the test, you know?"
Perkins spat in excitement; clearly, this event was one of the blows of his life, vividly remembered, not something he could easily forget.
"And the retest also showed you couldn't comprehend Spirit Power?" Igor was quite curious, surprised by Perkins's persistence.
"Haha, I got tested a total of five times, each result equally disheartening," Perkins gave a bitter smile. Although he didn't care much anymore if he was an Adventurer with Class, if not for proving this to Igor, he wouldn't contemplate such things, mainly he didn't want Igor to see him as a liar.
"You're impressive, trying the test five times!" Igor admired Perkins's tenacity.
"Discussing these matters is fruitless. Aren't you still suspecting I'm an Adventurer with Class? Though I never quite understood what's happening, now you've made me curious for answers too."
"Really, I'm just speculating but this guess is now the only one able to explain the strange phenomenon occurring upon you," Igor said, believing his long analysis wasn't easy.
"What speculation? Share it, perhaps it's the right answer," Perkins was intrigued by Igor's conclusion.
"Weren't you in contact with the Tree Spirits, you mentioned feeding them blood, even dining together, doesn't that show you were quite involved with them."
"Indeed, I feel now when entering Alfalfa Forest, those Tree Spirits still welcome me. It was due to excessive blood loss, I passed out and was revived by drinking Tree Spirit's blood!" Perkins casually said, inadvertently revealing a considerable piece of information to Igor.
"See, that's an important reason for your strange phenomenon!" Igor was somewhat excited.
"What?" Perkins was unmoved.
"Look, you drank each other's blood, this means you've exchanged blood, it's akin to a kind of integration between you and Tree Spirits," Igor said.
"You mean this blood integration gave me some characteristics of Tree Spirits?" Perkins couldn't believe this.
"Yes. Therefore, you can enter the Inner World and participate in our magic..." This reason seemed quite substantial.
"Nonsense, I don't believe it," Perkins replied.
"Hmm, I've mentioned it's just a guess, specifically, let's discuss it at Yonder Travel Academy, maybe the instructors there can provide us answers."
Unknowingly, the carriage had reached the gate of Yonder Travel Academy.
