Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 182 - 180: Sword Flight, the Waist-Holding Kind
Celeste Grant was still hovering over the pool. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
She stood in midair, glaring at the spot where Jocelyn Grant had vanished, and planted her hands on her hips in frustration.
"Don’t let me catch you next time."
’She’s a fast runner.’
The pool wasn’t very large, but the water looked deep. The surrounding terrain was normal, with nothing out of the ordinary. A waterfall cascaded from above, continuously feeding it.
The pool should have had an outlet at the bottom. The fact that Jocelyn Grant hadn’t been able to escape from underwater earlier meant there was no way out that way.
’According to the story, none of this was supposed to happen. Jocelyn Grant shouldn’t have been here, and this pool was never even mentioned. The plot is spiraling completely out of control.’
Celeste Grant gazed down at the pool, lost in thought.
’Could there be a Teleportation Array at the bottom of this pool?’
She closed her eyes, sending her Divine Sense plunging through the water toward the bottom.
Besides silt and the dead snake, there was nothing else at the bottom of the pool. She couldn’t detect the slightest fluctuation that would indicate an Array.
’How strange. Is my Cultivation not high enough to detect it?’
Celeste Grant opened her eyes.
Her hands spun as her fingers wove seals for a Water Element Technique. "Water Control Skill, arise!"
The next moment, the water in the pool began to flow in reverse. At the direction of her fingers, it surged into the air like a river, writhing in the sky until the pool was drained dry.
She looked down. The pool bed was now just a deep pit. Besides some skeletal remains and the dead snake she had slain, there was nothing else. There wasn’t even a trace of an Array having ever been there.
’Nothing... So how did Jocelyn Grant escape?’
’She couldn’t have just vanished into thin air.’
’Since it wasn’t a Teleportation Array, there’s only one other possibility. There must be some long-lost Space Artifact or Teleportation Treasure at the bottom of this pool. Jocelyn Grant’s blood must have activated the Magic Treasure, triggering its ownership recognition and teleporting her away.’
Glancing at the water hovering in the air, she pointed a finger gently downward. Guided by the Water Control Skill, the water returned to the pool with a great SPLASH.
The pool grew calm once more.
Just then, Javier Sinclair, who was standing by the edge of the pool, beckoned to her.
Celeste Grant flew to his side.
Seeing her angry, Javier Sinclair chuckled softly.
"That was a Space Transmission Array. She’s obtained a Space Transmission Treasure."
Hearing him mention it, Celeste Grant nodded. "Just as I thought. A Space Transmission Treasure."
Celeste tilted her head back and sighed. ’This is classic protagonist treatment. At the brink of death, she always manages to turn the tables and easily stumbles upon treasures. It’s like her fate and treasure-hunting stats are maxed out. In that case, she’s much more valuable alive... Hehehe. I’ll just keep fleecing her for now.’
"A Space Transmission Treasure... such a wonderful thing. I’ve done a quick divination, and it seems that Magic Treasure and I are fated to be together."
As she said this, she glanced at Javier Sinclair. Their eyes met, and they both shared a sinister smile.
He spoke up. "I agree. That Space Transmission Treasure would suit you very well. The next time she appears, I’ll snatch it over for you."
Celeste Grant corrected him. "You mean *retrieve* it."
The corners of Javier Sinclair’s lips lifted slightly.
"Mm, you’re right."
’It’s already theirs, so how could it be considered snatching? It’s just being stored with her for a few days.’
When Celeste Grant and Jocelyn Grant had been fighting, the teleportation had already begun to activate. He had wanted to intervene and destroy the device, but he sensed the Magic Treasure had a powerful self-destruct function. He feared it might accidentally harm Celeste Grant; otherwise, he would have destroyed it outright.
Javier Sinclair continued, "Also, I sensed a strange energy fluctuation on that woman, which appears especially at moments of life and death. It must be the ’power of the world.’ How peculiar. That must be the reason she’s so hard to kill."
Celeste Grant wasn’t sure how to explain it to him, so she simply said...
"Just think of her as the protagonist of a novel. The world revolves around her, so all sorts of strange plot points unfold, and the world favors her."
Javier Sinclair nodded faintly.
The things that happened around Jocelyn Grant were indeed bizarre.
"Don’t be angry. Have a piece of candy."
He held an unwrapped piece of candy to her lips.
She opened her mouth and took it.
’So sweet.’
After eating the candy, her mood improved.
Celeste Grant said, "There’s no rush. We’ll deal with her later. This wasn’t a total loss, either. At least Silas Stowe is dead, and he was one of Jocelyn Grant’s many lovers."
"Him?"
Javier Sinclair thought of the man who had self-destructed his Golden Core. He had cultivated an Evil Technique and carried a foul stench. Not only that, but his looks were absolutely hideous.
’Any random disciple from the Bloodfiend Den would be a better catch than that.’
At this thought, Javier Sinclair shook his head slightly.
"She... certainly has unusual taste."
Every time he saw Jocelyn Grant, she was with a different man.
He looked disgusted.
"Their relationships are such a mess."
’One woman and her horde of men? Even novels aren’t written like that.’
Celeste Grant smiled faintly and said, "Actually, if you ignore his identity as an Evil Cultivator, Silas Stowe used to be quite handsome. Otherwise, someone with Jocelyn Grant’s arrogant personality would never have looked twice at him. He probably became so ugly due to the backlash from practicing Evil Techniques."
Javier Sinclair seized on the key point.
He raised an eyebrow, lifting his gaze to meet hers. He seemed to ask nonchalantly, "You thought his previous appearance was handsome?"
His chilly voice fell upon Celeste Grant’s ears. She paused for a moment, then walked toward him with a smile.
Javier Sinclair instinctively took a step back.
Celeste Grant pressed closer, grabbing his sleeve and leaning in. She lowered her voice. "What’s this? Did The Exalted One get jealous because he heard me say another man was handsome?"
Javier Sinclair turned his face away. "When it comes to looks, who in the entire Cultivation World can compare to me? Is he even worthy of my jealousy? Do I look like the kind of person who gets jealous?"
Celeste Grant smiled faintly.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You’re right, you’re right... No one compares to you. The father of my child is the most handsome man in the world... elegant and peerless, unequaled by any other. I’ve always had a thing for you, my great Archfiend."
Though his heart fluttered, Javier Sinclair said aloud, "You’re just a sweet-talker."
"Give me a kiss..."
Javier Sinclair lowered his head slightly.
Celeste Grant pressed a kiss to his lips.
"Alright, let’s go home."
As she spoke, she raised a finger.
"Primordial Sword, come forth..."
An ice-blue sword flew out from her hair, expanding in size. It circled once before hovering in the air above them.
Celeste Grant pointed to her sword. "This time, I’ll take you... Let me show you how fast my Sword Flight is."
She patted his arm, then leaped onto the sword. Seeing him still standing on the ground, Celeste Grant beckoned. "Hurry up. My sword has never carried anyone else. You’re the first, so get on quickly. I’ll take you for a ride."
"Coming."
He replied.
He flew up to stand behind Celeste Grant, his arms wrapping around her waist from behind.
Celeste Grant cried out, "Hey! Do you have to stand so close and hold on like that?"
