Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 1627: Grand Ascension (3)
Inaya stood on the 28th layer, a green-haired Beastman staring back at her. The man appeared to be an antelope that had awakened his innate body, taking the form of a rather above-average handsome man.
However, his appearance was not the focus of this standoff. What Inaya was staring at was the sharpness in the air around him and the identity of this man.
She recognised him, and judging from what Kent told her, the look of anger in her eyes showed she was very pissed at this man.
After all, this man was the 1st Sword Elder, one of the ten individuals who betrayed Jest in the final moments of his life.
Instead of aiding him to kill their enemy, they sided with the Abyss King, and, outnumbered, Jest had to sacrifice his life to end the battle.
So she wants this bastard to pay severely.
"The look on your face tells me you know my main body," the 1st Sword Elder said, a smile on his face. "Makes me wonder what I had done to you to warrant such intense anger."
Inaya said nothing and just took one step forward.
Her sword ignited in toxic purple and dark green hues, a mixture that showed she had activated the emotion of hatred at full strength.
Suddenly, her speed surged, and before the 1st Sword Elder could say anything else, her sword was coming for his neck. He parried the attack and tried to push back, but Inaya was faster than he calculated.
Her hand suddenly moved and grabbed the 1st Sword Elder by the shoulder, and then, with a powerful kick, her knee went for his chin, knocking the air out of his lungs for a moment.
His body was sent flying back, a shocked look appearing on his face.
They both were Sword Supremes, and from the look of things, Inaya had only just arrived on the 28th layer, meaning her understanding of the Sword Dao should not be higher than his.
If she were someone who had already been through this stage, dominating the battle would be normal. However, she had only just comprehended the Sword Dao, so her understanding was still fresh.
So sending him flying back clearly had no justification at all. But here he was, very fragile as his jaw arched from the knee attack.
He landed on the ground and unleashed a wide arc, hoping to keep Inaya back. But just before his sword could truly manifest the attack, Inaya arrived before him and stabbed her sword into his heart while whispering into his ear.
"This is for my husband, whom you losers betrayed. Fear not. When your main body returns, I will personally kill him and make sure he never reincarnates."
Purple flames burst from her hand, erasing the Supreme Soul Imprint the Dao had left as a challenge for any cultivator challenging the Supreme Sword Dao Bridge.
The next time someone reaches this place, they will encounter an imprint of Inaya’s soul, manifested to wield her emotion of hatred as a Sword Dao Supreme Soul.
"I need to hurry," she muttered as the orb merged with her body, and she vanished to the 29th floor.
Meanwhile, on the outside, many Supremes and Celestials stood on the side, their mouths wide open as they gazed at the carnage being caused by one God.
Vexthra’s eyes turned completely black. Her years of effort to learn how to be a normal lady burned away, hatred and resentment clouding her judgment, waves of dark energy oozing from her body as one arrow after another flew from her bow.
Her body was littered with many injuries, some life-threatening. However, with her life force ignited, she looked calm, a little too calm, in fact, as she killed one Supreme or God after another.
"I know most Domain Gods, but this is my first time meeting one wielding two Domain Laws," a Supreme said, holding a recording bead as she recorded the battle happening between Vexthra and the people who came to kill Inaya while she was vulnerable.
This video would soon go viral, and many would wonder the same thing he did.
"I have heard about her millions of years ago," a Celestial stated, watching a Supreme fall back and collapse to his death as an arrow plunged into his chest and forehead. "She was the quiet type, so many Gods don’t mess around in her domain.
Though I never expected her to possess such outstanding talent for the bow and arrow. In fact, her understanding of the laws seems a bit too deep. I am afraid that unless a Celestial or a powerful Supreme intervenes, she alone would kill everyone."
The Celestial was not lying. Vexthra indeed had the power to kill every last soul that pointed their weapon at her. While the price she was paying was a bit too high, she knew she had to protect her sister at all costs.
On the other side, the Six Ancient Primordial Beasts were also locked in battle, making sure their master was protected on all sides.
Lene had mounted her Hellhorse and was locked in battle with a True God. Many gasped when they saw a Night Rider fighting for Inaya.
Daliah, Uncle Drake’s subordinate, had also summoned her Domain of Darkness and was committing her own style of murder within it. She may be a Demigod, but when it comes down to killing, she excels at it.
Umai, another subordinate of Uncle Drake, had transformed into her Crystal Dragon form and was unleashing icy breath all over the place.
Her left wing was injured, but she was holding her own against her opponent.
However, despite all of them holding their own, everyone present could tell it was only a matter of time before their advantage would be taken away from them.
The danger was already here, but more was on the way, so if no miracle happened, then Inaya would be in real danger, and the outcome would either be catastrophic or devastating.
BOOM
Suddenly, the 29th aura exploded out of Inaya’s body, signalling her ascension to the 29th layer. Now, she had the sacred 30th layer to pass, and if she did, she would unlock Grand Ascension.
Inaya stood on the 29th layer, her expression pale. The battle just now had been against herself. It was not something she expected, but she had to outsmart herself to win.
While she won, her strength seemed to have been drained significantly. Now, she was left with the 30th layer, her target.
"Kent said that by passing the 30th layer, I would awaken Grand Ascension, which would allow me to challenge the Grand Ascension Dao Tower later. I cannot fail, not when I am this close to success."
She said to herself, and then she vanished, appearing on the 30th layer.
She expected to appear on a battlefield like the previous ones. However, she was shocked to find herself in front of a bamboo house.
Seated on a wooden chair in front of the house was a dark-haired man. The man was facing away from her with his back turned. However, even with his back facing her, she sensed something familiar about him.
"I am here to challenge the 30th Layer of the Supreme Sword Dao Bridge," Inaya said, her sword held firmly in her hand.
Something about this man made her feel unsure about winning. However, she could not say for certain unless she tried.
"Always too serious, Inaya. It’s been billions of years. Aren’t you a bit happy to see me?" The man turned and faced her, causing Inaya’s eyes to widen.
"Jest..."
"As I live and breathe." Jest grinned, his expression showing genuine happiness. "I have been waiting for you, Inaya. What took you so long?"
