Once again, the two were interrupted, but this time it wasn’t either of them, it was the sound of a phone vibrating.

"Um... my phone is ringing."

The vibration came from her bag, and Alice Turner wanted to push Thomas Fisher away, but instead, he held her even tighter.

Worried he might lean in again, Alice rubbed his cheek to bring him back to reality.

The phone kept vibrating, and Thomas sighed deeply at Alice, reluctantly letting her go, "Who is it? So annoying."

Calling at a time like this, really causing trouble for her.

"You drive, I’ll answer the phone."

Ignoring Thomas’s complaints, Alice took charge and pushed him, signaling him to drive.

Reaching for her persistently ringing phone in the bag, before she could see who it was, he snatched it from her.

He wanted to see who the unhelpful person was, not just letting it be, but calling repeatedly.

Thomas saw the name Charlotte Shaw on the screen instantly, wondering if she was calling to persuade a reconciliation with her brother.

"Who’s calling?"

Seeing him staring at her phone distractedly, Alice reached to take her phone back and looked immediately.

Upon seeing it was Charlotte Shaw, her eyebrows furrowed, like Thomas, thinking she called about the divorce.

"Sis!"

Though reluctant to answer, the caller didn’t give up, ringing persistently, forcing her to pick up.

"What’s up? Now you don’t even want to answer my calls?" Charlotte’s first words were to question Alice, but her tone wasn’t angry, just slightly unhappy.

Knowing her delayed response upset the caller, she quickly defended herself, "How could I? My phone wasn’t nearby just now."

While explaining, she glanced at the man beside her, seeing he was still looking at her, with no intention of starting the car, she frowned.

"I kept calling, but you didn’t answer. I thought you didn’t want to talk to me anymore." Regardless of Alice’s truthfulness, Charlotte chose to believe her, trusting she was honest.

Alice pushed Thomas hard before responding, "How could I ignore you? You’re always my sister."

Upon saying this, she felt a pinch on her arm, knowing who did it without needing to look.

Looking at the culprit, he feigned innocence and avoided her gaze. She glared at him.

"So what you’re saying is, we’re still a family." Charlotte knew Alice’s words held deeper meaning, but she deliberately spoke that way, wanting to convey her thoughts.
