Chapter 1079: Chapter 1079: You and Alice Have Known Each Other for a Long Time

Seeing the three people walking in together, Lily Turner and Sophia Wood were taken aback, especially Lily, whose jaw dropped wide enough to fit an egg.

"How come you three are together?" Sophia put away her surprised expression and voiced her doubts.

"Auntie! Hello!" Thomas Fisher spoke before Christopher Turner and Alice Turner, greeting Sophia warmly and then explaining, "I just dropped Alice off, and happened to bump into Uncle at the door."

After saying that, he looked at Lily Turner standing next to Sophia, maintaining his cheerful smile, "Sis-in-law! Does seeing me make you that excited?"

He knew very well that she wasn’t excited, but rather surprised, or perhaps startled by him.

Hearing Thomas Fisher address her, Lily Turner quickly concealed her surprised expression, closing her agape mouth at the same time. She joked with him, "Seeing the renowned Young Master Dalton, of course I’m excited."

While joking, she glanced at her sister, exchanging a quick look.

Receiving Lily Turner’s look, Alice Turner gently shook her head, silently indicating that their dad hadn’t discovered anything yet.

The small interaction between the sisters didn’t escape Thomas Fisher’s notice, but he couldn’t quite decipher what they meant.

"Thomas! Come in and have a seat." Christopher Turner was completely focused on Thomas now, oblivious to whatever Alice and Lily might have done.

Sophia Wood noticed the silent interaction between the sisters, but she didn’t question it. She echoed Christopher Turner by inviting Thomas Fisher in to sit, "Go inside with your uncle, I’ll get you some tea." Without waiting for a response, she headed towards the kitchen, calling out to Alice Turner as she went, "Alice! Come help me out."

Today’s events were numerous and sudden; she found herself slightly overwhelmed.

"Oh."

Alice Turner glanced at Thomas Fisher and stepped up to follow.

Seeing this, Lily Turner quickly followed, "I’ll help too."

The three women headed to the kitchen, while the two men turned towards the living room.

"Is the company not busy today?" Christopher Turner tilted his head to glance at Thomas Fisher walking beside him.

"No matter how busy, I always have time to drop Alice back."

Thomas Fisher gave Christopher Turner a meaningful look and then followed him into the living room.

Christopher Turner was a very astute person; as soon as he saw Thomas Fisher drop Alice off, he started speculating about their relationship. Now hearing Thomas say this, his curiosity about their relationship piqued further, "Did you know Alice long ago?"

The two seemed quite familiar and friendly, and Thomas was exceptionally warm and cordial to him—unlike that Shaw kid who always appeared uninterested.

"Yes! I knew Alice a bit earlier than my third brother." Thomas Fisher noticed Christopher Turner’s curiosity, and since his future father-in-law was so interested, he was ready to spill everything.

After letting Thomas Fisher sit on the sofa, Christopher Turner asked again, "Really? I’ve never heard Alice mention it."

If he had known earlier that the girl knew this man, he wouldn’t have gone through all the trouble trying to ally with the Shaw family through marriage. Wouldn’t aligning with the mayor’s family be much better?
