Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1138: I Will Never Marry You
"We were in contact yesterday."
Confronted by Benjamin Shaw at this moment, Sophie Snow had already forgotten Alice Turner’s instructions to her, and she revealed both instances of their contact.
Benjamin Shaw had a determined look, as if he wouldn’t stop until he got to the bottom of things, "Yesterday? Who contacted whom first?"
Thinking carefully now, he felt it was more likely that Alice Turner reached out to Sophie Snow. He watched Sophie Snow, waiting for her to confirm his suspicion.
"Alice contacted me," Sophie Snow answered honestly. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
After receiving confirmation, Benjamin Shaw continued to probe, "Why did she want to contact you? Did she contact you just to inform you about me getting injured and hospitalized?"
It shouldn’t be that simple; he had a strong feeling about it.
"No," Sophie Snow shook her head at Benjamin Shaw, not waiting for him to ask further. She continued, "She also told me you two are divorced now and urged me to pursue you, telling me to seize the opportunity early..."
She stopped speaking when she noticed his expression turned extremely grim, anger flickering in his eyes.
Benjamin Shaw remained silent for quite a while, merely staring straight at Sophie Snow. Just as she was about to crumble under his gaze, he suddenly spoke, "Let’s not meet again from now on."
He said it smoothly, without any change in his expression, maintaining the same demeanor he had moments before.
"Why shouldn’t we meet? Haven’t you already divorced that woman?" Learning about Alice Turner’s divorce from Benjamin Shaw had filled Sophie Snow with joy. She arrived full of confidence, expecting Benjamin Shaw to be just as happy. But in this moment, the reality was quite different.
He was not only unhappy, but he also wanted to drive her away, even to the extent of never wanting to see her again in the future.
Benjamin Shaw maintained the same demeanor, looking at Sophie Snow indifferently, "What happens between her and me is none of your concern. You should leave now and don’t come looking for me anymore."
His expression was extremely indifferent, and his tone was even more detached.
"Why don’t you want to see me? Weren’t things always going well between us when we were together?" Sophie Snow moved closer to Benjamin Shaw, and as she reached out to grab him, he lifted his arm to avoid her. Her outstretched hand awkwardly froze in midair, "Benjamin! I love you, you can’t treat me like this."
She did not give up, reaching out to him once again.
Seeing her hand reach out again, Benjamin Shaw furrowed his brow in displeasure and swatted her hand away, "You said you weren’t the kind of woman who clings desperately. If I had known you were, I would never have gotten involved with you."
He looked at the woman beside him with cold detachment, a look of disdain in his eyes.
"I’m really not the kind of woman who clings desperately. I don’t want to leave you because I love you." Sophie Snow regretted deeply now—regretting having said such words to Benjamin Shaw before. But now it was too late to regret; words once spoken were like water spilled, impossible to take back.
Hearing her words, Benjamin Shaw curled his lips in a mocking smile, "Love? You’re just looking to marry into wealth and live in luxury, right? You should look for someone else; I won’t marry you."
Initially, he hadn’t seen her true intentions in approaching him, but after spending more time with her, he gradually discerned her motives. It was as he saw through her intentions that he began to distance himself from her lately.
