Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 867: Captured
"David, why are we splitting up?"
"You guys still hope that Young Master Seymour will play with us?" David rolled his eyes at the person, "It’s good enough that he’s come along."
"Exactly, when I go back, I can brag about having eaten beggar’s chicken made by Young Master Seymour himself!"
"...Honestly, I never thought Young Master Seymour was like that, and could even cook."
"You might want to think about who Young Master Seymour cooks for?" David sneered, "Try it with someone else, and see if Young Master Seymour still cooks."
"Oh dear, I’m so jealous of Sophie Wilson, having such a considerate boyfriend," one of the ladies said enviously.
Her boyfriend was annoyed: "Hey, your boyfriend is right here."
"Come on, compared to Young Master Seymour, you’re setting yourself up for embarrassment." The person beside her teased.
The group headed into the mountains, having heard there were early-blooming mountain flowers, said to be beautiful.
On the other side, Charles Seymour and Kai Bright formed one pair, and they were also separating.
Kai chose a more open space, while Charles and Sophie preferred adventure, delving into the mountains.
"The air in the mountains is so refreshing!" Sophie took a deep breath, expressing her happiness.
The air truly felt clean, as if it had cleansed both her inside and out.
"Yeah," Charles nodded, "There’s a small waterfall ahead."
He hadn’t been here before, but Kai obtained complete information from David, who had been here a few times and was relatively familiar with the place.
"Great, let’s head to the waterfall. We might even see a rainbow!" Sophie nodded excitedly, finding it delightful to be out with Charles, without the presence of others.
As they traversed the forest, Sophie felt exceptionally relaxed, compared to being in the city, this felt like her true home.
After a short while, a small waterfall appeared ahead, the clear water cascading down, forming a beautiful arc in the air, while the rushing water splashed into the pool below with thunderous splashes.
"A rainbow, there’s really one!" Sophie excitedly tugged on Charles’s arm, raising her voice slightly.
The sound of the water was somewhat noisy, easily drowning out normal speaking voices.
Charles nodded, then was gently nudged by Sophie, "Go check if there are fish in the pool?"
Charles glanced at Sophie, and she nodded at him, prompting him to walk over.
Just as Charles reached the pool, he suddenly heard Sophie exclaim.
"Kid, walk over here quietly, don’t move." A man with a dagger threateningly held it against Sophie’s neck, intimidating Charles.
Charles’s face darkened, as he slowly walked over.
"Come with me, to your car, and drive me out of here." The man pressed harder, "If you don’t listen, watch out for your girlfriend."
The man was smart enough to maintain a distance from Charles, preventing him from suddenly launching a surprise attack.
As the three of them walked forward, suddenly a person dropped from a nearby tree, instantly tackling the man.
Simultaneously, as Charles heard the slight rustling from the branches above, he dashed forward, grabbing Sophie and pulling her aside.
The man in the camouflage suit who had jumped from the tree spoke into the walkie-talkie, "Captain, mission accomplished, we’ve captured Old Eight."
"Wait for further orders at your current position." A simple command came through the walkie-talkie, to which the camouflaged man promptly replied, "Yes!"
