Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 880: A Step Back Each
"Grandson-in-law?" Old Mrs. Wilson scoffed disdainfully, "There isn’t even a granddaughter, let alone a grandson-in-law."
"Without that granddaughter, our family was so much better." Old Mrs. Wilson just did not like Sophie Wilson.
Especially since the consequence of Sophie Wilson’s return was breaking ties with Emerie. Isn’t that crazy?
"Alright, alright, I still have many things to handle here. Benjamin wants to manage the company, which is absolutely impossible. Tell Emerie to abandon this idea!" Old Mrs. Wilson chased Old Mrs. Wilson out of the study.
The nagging finally disappeared from his ears. Old Mrs. Wilson sighed heavily and gradually sat down on the chair, pressing his swollen, aching forehead. His loose skin and the bulging veins on the back of his hand all served as reminders that he was indeed old.
In the past, he too was full of vigor and led his people to establish this family business. Now, managing it has become a struggle.
Mason... maybe it’s time for him to return.
Once Old Mrs. Wilson had this thought, he naturally reached out to Mason Wilson, and also wanted their entire family to come over.
"Feels like an ambush feast." Sophie Wilson sighed lightly while driving, "Specifically saying to gather the whole family for a meal. What’s the scheme?"
"Are you worried?" Mason Wilson asked in surprise.
This wasn’t typical of Sophie.
"Yes." Sophie Wilson nodded, "Confronting people before dinner is a bit of a waste of energy."
Mason Wilson turned his face; he regretted asking.
Upon arriving at the hotel suite, Sophie Wilson realized that Old Mrs. Wilson was indeed sincere this time, as he came alone, seemingly ready to have a good talk.
"Dad." Mason Wilson greeted, looking at his father with complex emotions. Not seeing him for some time, he felt his father had aged further, "How have you been feeling lately?"
"Not bad." Old Mrs. Wilson replied with a smile, not intentionally lamenting, but rather inviting them to sit down.
"I wasn’t sure what Sophie likes to eat, so I ordered this place’s signature dishes. If Sophie wants anything else, feel free to order." Old Mrs. Wilson looked at Sophie Wilson with a kindly smile, "Don’t be shy."
"Alright, I won’t." Sophie Wilson smiled as she settled into her seat, noticing Old Mrs. Wilson’s unchanged smile, weighing her thoughts.
This Old Mrs. Wilson is indeed capable of restraining himself, tonight’s meal might be hard to swallow.
"Mason, I invited you here today to discuss your return to the Wilson Clan." Old Mrs. Wilson said.
"Dad, I stated my conditions last time and have no intention of changing them." Mason Wilson’s demeanor was firm; if he couldn’t protect his wife and daughter, what kind of man would he be?
Should Sophie and Clarissa return to the Wilson Clan only to face Emerie Wilson daily?
And with his mother’s fondness for Emerie, there would surely be disputes.
"Mason, my proposal is for everyone to compromise a little." Old Mrs. Wilson sighed lightly, his voice aged and hoarse, every word etched with the wear of time, sounding desolate and forlorn.
"Emerie’s actions were wrong, terribly wrong. However, this kind of personality was cultivated by us. Arguably, we also bear some responsibility. But, you know Emerie has had a weak heart since birth. Your mother and I didn’t want her to be stressed, which is why we spoiled her."
"You’re my son, Sophie is my granddaughter, I don’t want our family to be separated, perhaps we can all compromise a little."
