Rebirth: I have Monopoly System
Chapter 59: Three Game Companies
Wu Yun’s lips were right next to Qi Fei’s ear as he spoke, his hot breath making her shiver. Goosebumps visibly rose on her skin.
Qi Fei was wearing a thin cotton nightgown, and with Wu Yun hugging her from behind, the single layer of fabric did little to block their contact.
She felt something press against her from behind. She may have never eaten pork, but she’d seen a pig run—she knew exactly what it was in an instant.
Wu Yun wasn’t dry yet, and his embrace soaked the back of her nightgown. The white cotton turned semi-translucent when wet, though Wu Yun couldn’t see it for the time being.
The warm air on her ear made Qi Fei’s entire body go limp, and she leaned back against Wu Yun involuntarily.
Wu Yun’s head rounded her shoulder. His right hand tilted her chin up, and he pressed his lips against hers.
.........
"Feifei! Are you okay?" a voice with a hint of a Northeastern accent called from outside, followed by a knock. It was Song Qin.
Qi Fei immediately snapped back to reality. She turned and pushed Wu Yun away. Seeing his state, she blushed, gave him a quick peck on the lips, and said, "I’m fine! I just slipped and got my back wet!"
After speaking, she motioned for Wu Yun to hide behind the door so she could go out.
After Qi Fei had left, Wu Yun rinsed off again in the hot water. Once he’d calmed down, he dried himself, put on a tank top and shorts, and walked out of the bedroom.
The moment Wu Yun entered the living room, he saw Song Qin and the other two women giving him suggestive looks. He rubbed his nose and said, "Why are you all looking at me like that?"
Song Qin asked, "What did you do to Feifei in the bathroom just now? I saw her come out blushing."
"That’s right! Confession brings leniency!" Li Yao added.
"Resistance will be met with severity!" Zeng Shengnan finished, crossing her arms.
"I already told you, she slipped and fell. As for why she was blushing, she got a look at my naked body. It’d be weirder if she *wasn’t* blushing. I didn’t even scream, and I was the one who got an eyeful. I’m the one at a disadvantage here, totally at a disadvantage!" Wu Yun muttered as he sat down at the dining table, using a toothpick to spear a piece of cut watermelon and pop it in his mouth.
"Tch! As if I’d believe you!" Song Qin scoffed, clearly not buying his story.
She continued, "Looks like another person from our Dorm 404 is about to go from a girl to a woman!"
Qi Fei, who had just finished changing and came out, heard this and explained, "I really did just fall! You all saw, my back and butt were completely soaked!"
"Maybe your Xiaoyunzi just likes it from behind?" Li Yao said meaningfully.
"Hey! Yaoyao, you’re so dirty!"
...........
「The next morning.」
Wu Yun’s internal clock woke him up right on time.
The late-night visit he’d been anticipating never happened, leaving Wu Yun slightly disappointed.
He went out, bought some breakfast to bring home, and then knocked on the girls’ doors to wake them up to eat.
While they were eating, Qi Fei said, "Xiaoyunzi, I’m going to take them back to Jingyang for a bit. We want to try our famous Jingyang dry pot, so we’ll be heading back today."
Wu Yun was taken aback. He thought they were going to stay for a few more days to explore Rongcheng. "In that case, do you want me to have someone drive you?"
"No need. I already called my dad’s driver to come pick me up. I’m taking one of your keys, since we’ll be back in two days. So, if you’re planning to hide a mistress here, you better do it in the next two days!" Qi Fei joked.
Wu Yun nodded. "Alright then. I’m going to be busy these next few days anyway, so I won’t have time to hang out with you all. I have to go meet with a headhunter about some companies he’s recommended, so I won’t see you off."
"It’s fine. You’re a big shot, making millions a minute. Us humble girls wouldn’t dare get in the way of our boss’s important business," Song Qin also joked.
’Wu Yun seriously suspected she was making a dirty joke, but he had no proof.’
After finishing his meal, Wu Yun grabbed his backpack and said, "I have an appointment, so I’m heading out. Remember to take the trash out for me."
He closed the door behind him, leaving the four speechless women.
Rongcheng on a Sunday was nothing like Rongcheng on a weekday. There were cars and people everywhere.
The time for Wu Yun’s meeting with the headhunter was fast approaching, but he was stuck in traffic halfway there. Feeling a bit helpless, he was just about to make a call when the headhunter’s call came through. "Mr. Wu, my apologies, but the traffic is terrible today. I might be a little late."
"It’s fine. I’m stuck on the road, too," Wu Yun replied. He then flashed his high beams, signaling the slow car ahead of him that had failed to move even though the light had turned green. In this kind of traffic, the only way to get there any faster would be to fly.
By the time Wu Yun reached the designated meeting spot, the headhunter had already been waiting for a while.
The reason they were meeting so far out was that all three companies the headhunter recommended were located in this industrial park.
Inside the coffee shop, the headhunter saw Wu Yun walk in and stood up to greet him. "President Wu, over here!"
After sitting down in the booth and casually ordering a coffee from the waitress, Wu Yun said, "Manager Zhang, let me see the files first!"
Manager Zhang handed Wu Yun the three reports he had prepared.
The reports listed the company names, legal representatives, registered capital, number of employees and their departmental distribution, as well as all the projects the companies had developed or been involved in. It was far clearer than anything he could find online. The money was well spent.
The first was a small company called Kunpeng Network Game Company Limited, with just over fifty employees, most of whom were producers and developers. The company had experience developing PC games, but their last one had failed in open beta. Subsequent attempts to secure funding were unsuccessful, so the owner was preparing to sell the company for 10 million.
The second was a game studio called Galaxy. It had only about twenty people, all game developers and artists. They usually developed small mobile games on their own or worked as an outsourcing service for some of the bigger studios. The owner wanted to sell for personal reasons, asking price 5 million.
The third was a larger company called Qijiu Interactive Entertainment Technology Co., Ltd. It had over a hundred employees, an active mobile game, and a PC game in development. The company was currently seeking Series A funding. The report concluded: The possibility of acquisition is low.
Seeing that Wu Yun had finished reading, Manager Zhang said with a smile, "President Wu, I trust you’ve finished reading. As you can see, our main recommendations today are the first company, Kunpeng Network Games, and the second, Galaxy Game Studio."
"Your original request was for a mobile or PC game development company with an experienced team, so we recommended one of each. Do you have any questions?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"No questions. Help me make an appointment with the owners of these two companies. I want to tour their offices before making a decision." ’In Wu Yun’s memory, there were very few famous PC or mobile game companies from the Southwest, and these two definitely weren’t among them. So if he didn’t acquire them today, they would likely face bankruptcy or be acquired by someone else down the line.’
