When she woke up, it was already mid-afternoon. Jiang Xue looked at Little Reunion still asleep and did not disturb him. She got up and left the room, intending to check if Mr. Mu was hungry; if he was, she would make him something to eat.

She walked to the living room and saw that Mr. Mu hadn’t gotten up yet, and Housekeeper Lin was nowhere to be seen. Jiang Xue went straight to the kitchen and made some pumpkin cakes with flour and pumpkin, also frying some meatballs.

Seeing Jiang Xue busy, Mr. Mu smiled and asked from the kitchen door, "Xue’er, what are you making? It smells so good!"

"Mr. Mu, you’re awake. I saw there was pumpkin at home, so I made some pumpkin meatballs. Would you like to try them?"

"Sure, sure, they smell so good. They must be tasty," Mr. Mu said happily.

Jiang Xue laughed, then put the pumpkin meatballs on a plate and carried them out. She asked, "Mr. Mu, where would you like to eat them?"

"Just place them on the coffee table by the sofa," Mr. Mu said, walking towards the coffee table. When he got there, he sat directly on the sofa, waiting for Jiang Xue to place the meatballs in front of him.

Jiang Xue smiled, put the meatballs on the coffee table, and reminded him, "Mr. Mu, although these taste good, you shouldn’t eat too many; they were just fried, and the heat is still strong."

"Alright, I know, I’ll try to eat less. After all, I need to save my stomach for your dinner," Mr. Mu replied with a smile. He said he’s visiting Jiang Xue and Little Reunion, but he was really here for her cooking.

Since leaving Xu City, he’s been longing for Jiang Xue’s cooking. If he had known earlier that Jiang Xue was going to college, he would have brought her to Beijing directly.

Now, Mu Qiancheng is in Beijing, but Jiang Xue is still in South City, with the couple separated across the country, making it hard for them to meet.

Knowing that he loves to eat and planned to sneak a few more while Jiang Xue returned to check on Little Reunion, he didn’t expect Housekeeper Lin to act as a supervisor.

"You better not eat," Mr. Mu glared at Housekeeper Lin and said, "Perfect, you five, me five, now that you’re not eating, I can eat ten."

"Sir, you’re cheating," Housekeeper Lin objected, quickly reaching for the meatballs, saying, "Mine are mine, yours are yours. I didn’t agree to give my share to you; what if the young madam finds out and doesn’t let me have dinner?"

Just as his hand touched the meatball, Mr. Mu pushed it back and said, "You’re not on my side, you get none."
