Reborn as an Extra
Chapter 766: A World’s Demise. Part-2.
As her tribe was in grave danger, Yasna agreed to Rio’s plan almost immediately.
Before dying, the old village chief had thrown the staff representing the position of the village chief to her; this clearly meant that he was leaving the responsibility of keeping the tribe safe in her hands!
Now, as the new village chief, Yasna had a duty to protect her people, and even in her current weakened form, she didn’t dare to shy away from her duties.
With determination working as the fuel to push her forward, Yasna agreed to heal Lia and Link immediately.
Once she began to use her power, Rio subtly guided her with his abilities to ensure she wouldn’t make any mistakes.
"I can sense that these two are not in any grave danger; they are just unconscious because Raika forced some bad memories into their heads."
"No need to interfere with the memories or anything, just enhance their mental capacities and mental fortitude by giving your ’Phychic’ energy to their minds..."
"Enhance their mental powers and the two of them will solve everything else by themselves..."
Yasna couldn’t understand why Rio was giving such an order, as doing so will make the memories that Raika forced into their head remain intact.
Lia and Link will remember these troublesome memories if they are left intact. The logical choice should have been to erase these foreign memories.
Although she felt skeptical of Rio’s choices, she was in no position to question him and could only do as she was asked.
What she didn’t know was that Rio was more powerful a ’psychic’ than even she was, and he knew that the memories Raika forced into Lia’s and Link’s heads were actually their own memories but from different timelines.
Raika was capable of simulating the universe inside his realms, and thus he knew exactly how things would have gone without Rio’s interference.
The memories that Raika gave to Lia and Link were actual possible realities that were averted mainly because Rio interfered with the original plot of the novel.
Due to these memories being so potent and compatible with both Lia and Link, they had already taken root in Lia’s and Link’s souls deeply; any attempt to erase them will harm Lia’s and Link’s souls.
So, it was better to just enhance the mental power of the two and let them fight these memories themselves!
And sure enough! Just like Rio predicted, the frown on Lia’s face eased visibly as the clouds of doubt in her sea of consciousness disappeared completely.
Both Link and Lia struggled against these false memories, and with Rio’s, Riya’s, and Yasna’s help, they overcame the shadows of doubts clouding their minds easily!
*Crack!*
As if some kind of illusion had broken, the influence of Raika and the false memories was soon completely destroyed!
"Ah!"
Lia and Link both woke up with shock painted all over their faces.
"Oh, you are finally awake? It’s unfair that you kept sleeping peacefully all by yourself when I was busy fighting."
Hearing Rio’s words, Lia was stunned for a second, and it took a while for her mind to adjust to reality.
Soon she realized what had happened, and her eyes became moist as she raised her trembling hands and touched Rio’s face with great caution as if she were nervous that he wasn’t real.
"You... I..."
Lia couldn’t find words to speak in that moment, as what she had witnessed was far too disturbing to be described in words.
Seeing her like that, Rio smiled lightly and spoke.
"No need to say anything; I am right here for you. You want a hug? Maybe a cup of tea to calm yourself down?"
Tears appeared in Lia’s eyes after hearing those words, and she jumped straight into Rio’s embrace as she buried her crying face into his broad chest.
Even Link, who never cried, hugged Riya, who was confused, tightly in his arms as if he were afraid she would disappear the next moment.
"Thank you for being here... it’s good that you are here, Riya. Hehe, it’s good that you are okay. It’s all good."
With an idiotic smile, Link kept muttering the same words as he clung to Riya desperately.
Rio glanced at Yasna who was feeling rather exhausted and spoke,
"Go gather your people and count how many are left alive; we need to leave this planet as early as possible. There’s not much time left... it might collapse any moment now."
Yasna nodded her head and decided to leave quickly to give Lia and the others some privacy for the moment.
Once she left, Rio also hugged Lia and patted her head to calm her down.
"It’s fine; I am right here. Whatever you witnessed in those memories was false. Don’t let Raika’s tricks fool you; you are stronger than that."
Hearing those words, Lia nodded her head but refused to let go of Rio and kept clinging to him like a koala as she rubbed her tear-covered face all over his shirt.
It took a long while to calm both Lia and Link down, and the two of them kept clinging to Rio and Riya even after they calmed down.
By the time Yasna got her people ready to move, Rio had already charged up the crown of endless realms with miasma and was ready to leave.
In his mind, Rio imagined a planet that would be far away from the influence of miasma and suitable for the half-orcs to live.
Once the crown locked onto one such planet’s coordinates through the power of ’Absolute Detection,’ Rio opened a portal directly to that planet!
The half-orc tribe was already very poor, and they didn’t have much luggage to bring with them, and as a lot of their members were killed off due to having their strings of destinies being broken, only a few hundred were left.
Thus, moving the entire orc tribe didn’t take much time at all, and in just a few minutes, the entire tribe was teleported away by Rio.
Once everyone left, Rio stayed behind to witness the end, and as Lia refused to let go of him and kept clinging to him like a koala, he took Lia to outer space and watched the dying planet blow apart together with her.
The planet didn’t explode with a big explosion; just the debris of the planet broke into gigantic pieces as all the strings of destinies holding the planet in place came undone one after another.
Once all strings of destinies were gone, the planet was completely destroyed, and with that final explosion, Cyria-229, which once had a vibrant history, was completely erased from existence.
’A planet... no... a world that once gave birth to many great people and a great civilization has met its end...’
Seeing that explosion, Rio could feel that an era had come to an end.
