Reborn As Super Heiress
Chapter 1958 - 1861: Slapped in the Face
Huo Sining glanced at Zhou Zhen indifferently and said with a smile, "Whether I have money or not is none of Young Master Zhou’s concern. Young Master Zhou, you should worry about yourself. Hanging out with Dongyang people all the time, who knows, one day you might be sold and still counting money for them."
Fujiwara Seiho originally didn’t plan to get involved with Zhou Zhen and his group’s matters. He definitely knew Huo Sining and even once suspected that this woman surnamed Huo had stolen the Golden Lotus he wanted, but without evidence, Fujiwara Seiho couldn’t do anything about this woman.
At this moment, his mind was full of the mysterious text message he just received, and he was very eager to find out what was going on, so much so that he wished he could return to his country immediately. He had no interest in bickering with Huo Sining.
However, upon hearing Huo Sining’s sarcasm involving the Dongyang people, Fujiwara Seiho couldn’t help but raise his head and look in Huo Sining’s direction.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he looked, his body involuntarily paused.
Because among Huo Sining’s group, he saw a man—the one who previously participated in the bidding, named Windsor Caesar.
Fujiwara Seiho’s eyes revealed doubt; if he remembered correctly, Windsor Caesar and the man from Auction Number 88 were sitting in the same box, and the two beast heads were ultimately auctioned off by Number 88.
Now Windsor Caesar was standing with Huo Sining—could they be together?
Thinking about this, Fujiwara Seiho’s heart suddenly sank, and his gaze subconsciously scanned Huo Sining’s group, searching each face for the man from Auction Number 88.
However, to Fujiwara Seiho’s relief, Number 88 was not there.
Fujiwara Seiho silently thought to himself that he must have guessed wrong—the man spoke fluent American English and should be a native American, unlikely to be in cahoots with Huo Sining. Windsor Caesar standing with Huo Sining must be just a coincidence.
Fujiwara Seiho had just internally comforted himself for overthinking, but unexpectedly, a man came running out from the other side of the hall, babbling endlessly:
"This restroom is really hard to find, held it in for hours, finally solved it!"
The man who ran out was Li Jun. Due to the tension of the bidding earlier, Li Jun feared he might miss out on something important if he left, so he held it in, not going to the bathroom. Once the auction ended, he hurriedly left Huo Sining’s group, eagerly finding a restroom and wasn’t walking together with Huo Sining and the others.
However, as he caught up, it made Zhou Zhen and the others standing there have their expressions change.
Lu Huairu looked at Li Jun in surprise and couldn’t help but ask, "You’re the young man who bid on the beast heads, right? What a big move! So you’re with Professor Zhou and them?"
Li Jun glanced at Lu Huairu and then at Huo Sining and Zhou Shitao, seeing Huo Sining and her group showing weird smiles, felt slightly perplexed, completely at a loss for the situation:
"You all know each other? Haha, what a coincidence. But, sir, you’ve got it wrong. I did bid on the beast heads, but I wasn’t the one who paid. I’m just an agent, the real tycoon is someone else."
As he spoke, Li Jun directly pulled out the number plate from his hand and handed it to Huo Sining, smiling proudly at her, "There, returning it to its rightful owner, mission accomplished!" 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Huo Sining graciously accepted the number plate and smiled at Li Jun, "Thanks for the hard work, I owe you one."
Li Jun waved dismissively, "It’s nothing, compared to the help you’ve given the Li Family, this little favor is nothing."
The conversation between Huo Sining and Li Jun completely stunned Zhou Zhen and the others nearby, especially Zhou Zhen. He had just sarcastically mocked Huo Sining about becoming a pauper, unable to afford those two beast heads, only to have his words slapped in the face when Li Jun suddenly appeared. It was impossible for him to be pleased.
Liang Junqi and Liang Jinghong’s expressions were also grim, not to mention Fujiwara Seiho, whose face turned quite pale.
Huo Sining, however, didn’t care at all. She did purchase the beast heads, but the one who ultimately footed the bill probably wasn’t her. Hence, she didn’t plan to hide it and boldly looked at Fujiwara Seiho:
"Mr. Fujiwara, I appreciate your courtesy! I didn’t expect Mr. Fujiwara to be so interested in Huaxia Country’s antiques!"
Fujiwara Seiho’s bidding for the beast heads had an ulterior motive. Hearing Huo Sining’s words seemed like he hadn’t picked up on her implication at all and replied indifferently:
"No courtesy at all. Miss Huo, your boldness is extraordinary; ordinary people indeed don’t have your flair. However, I’ve heard that Miss Huo has recently donated a huge portion of your assets for charity? Now it seems these media rumors aren’t entirely accurate; your wealth is far more than what you’ve disclosed publicly."
Huo Sining heard Fujiwara Seiho’s apparently casual yet covertly sharp words and didn’t care at all, smiled, and said:
"Mr. Fujiwara seems quite informed on media gossip. Such speculations are common in media; if you truly believe them, you might fall behind."
Fujiwara Seiho twitched his lips, not very satisfied with Huo Sining’s perfunctory reply, but after a moment of consideration, he couldn’t help but feel moved.
His original intention was to buy the beast heads to spite those Huaxia people, but since the beast heads were purchased by this woman surnamed Huo, perhaps he could make use of this.
Thinking this way, Fujiwara Seiho’s eyes slightly gleamed in darkness as he looked at Huo Sining, his lips inadvertently curved up.
Not wanting to tangle further with these people, Huo Sining signaled Zhou Shitao and the others and prepared to leave.
Just at that moment, there was a call from the fee payment window for Fujiwara Seiho’s number plate. Fujiwara Seiho hurried over to communicate with the staff about the antique he had successfully bid for.
Zhou Zhen and the others saw this and didn’t have time to continue squabbling with Huo Sining and her group, quickly crowding over.
Yet, the next instant, all their expressions turned furious.
"What? The item has already been taken? You must be mistaken; this antique is indeed what we bid for, but we haven’t taken the item yet!"
Fujiwara Seiho’s face drastically changed, and Zhou Zhen and the others felt utterly perplexed.
The staff shrugged, showing a helpless expression, reiterating that the item was no longer there.
