Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1211: Cracking
Michael immediately teleported himself over to their headquarters and saw Alpha and the Unity clones looking over the three eggs with intense focus.
The leftmost egg, one that was dark-blue colored and with lightning streaks all over, was Jaku’s cocoon.
The middle one was green, like nature. With moss, vines, and leaves protruding out of the shell as if it was an artifact that had been left in an overgrown jungle. It was Umisu’s egg.
The rightmost one was colored white, just like a normal egg, except for the fact that it had a slight golden tint around it, as if it was made out of holy aura itself. Atop it was a large eye, inlaid with gold. This was Sheina’s.
All three of them were currently showing signs of movement. A little shake here, a little jitter there. It looked like they were getting ready to get out of their shells at any moment.
This made Michael quite excited. Though, it made him think of transporting the eggs to a different location. He didn’t want their headquarters to be in ruin once three large-sized dragons emerged out of those eggs.
ChatJK6, any estimates on their ETA?
[According to normal estimates, they are now expected to emerge out of their shells within the next 24 hours.]
Michael took a deep breath. He could wait that long.
And so, he did. He waited with bated breaths as the movements inside the eggs became more and more pronounced as the time passed on.
In the meanwhile, the Shadow Orcs kept giving him their reports about the various movements in the outside world. It didn’t take much of his attention away from the eggs. First of all, these were things that Sheina needed to know. And second of all, Castelle was keeping everything at bay.
So, this gave him leeway until finally, evening came.
Michael saw the first crack in Sheina’s egg. That crisp sound was like an alarm clock that shooed away all of his sleepiness as he waited for them.
Cracks continued to form, until a small piece flew away.
Golden light leaked out of the hole. Light, that Michael realized, was made out of Aubility Power.
It truly looked like they were going to hatch into the same species Zion was now.
Do they also need no GodForge piece to advance their cultivations? Should I start transporting them away from this place now?
Jaku’s egg now started to crack, then Umisu’s. But except for golden light leaking out of the missing pieces, Jaku’s egg leaked out blue, plasma like that of lightning. And Umisu’s egg leaked out smoke—no, clouds, dark, clouds that looked like it was ripped straight out from a storm.
Michael’s entire focus was on the Dragonborns that he didn’t even see the Shadow Orcs appear behind him.
"... bu to to..."
"... rah ta tah..."
He turned around, finally noticing them. Immediately, he knew that something had happened. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have interrupted right when the Dragonborns were in the middle of emerging out of their shells.
...
...
...
Michael followed the Shadow Orcs, teleporting himself underground, right exactly where the Orcs had made a home for themselves.
Nothing but darkness was allowed here, except for the Shadows of Reborn.
Right now, they were in the middle of what seemed to be a control room.
Shadow Orcs moved with hurried intent from place to place, watching the surveillance cameras placed on the walls and the monitors on desks.
In the very front wall, he saw a dynamic map of the Royal Continent, encompassing the known Queens region as well as the Kings region where their Nation resided.
The territories occupied by Reborn were colored green, which was the entire Kings region and about half of the Lower Queens region, like Angora City and other such territories.
Those who were allied with Reborn were colored blue. Meanwhile, territories that Reborn had yet to enter were colored gray.
The lower part of the map was filled with greens and blues, while the upper part was filled with grays and red.
The color red was designated for territories that were occupied by their enemies. This included the companies who had rejected them, like those who were a part of the Anti-Reborn sentiment, as well as the known Ersatz Strongholds.
Michael already saw this map just a few days ago, when the Feast had just started. But already, a lot of things had changed.
There were now some red blobs popping up near the Lower Queens region. Their territories.
Well, they weren’t exactly their territory. These were cities, towns, and small land masses who had allied themselves with Reborn, but had not yet fully bought into their ideology.
"We’ve seen a current uptick of bands of thieves, mercenaries, and marauders attacking these points here, and here, and here."
Narito pointed to most of the blue territories.
But strangely, there were no attacks on the green territories. Somehow, these random attacks hadn’t touched any of the territories that were owned by Reborn.
"Rah ta tah... They’re smart," said Sasuki. "If they’d even come a kilometer near our territories, we would have destroyed them immediately. Instead, they came to the territories we don’t have jurisdiction over."
Since these territories and towns were only allied with Reborn, they didn’t have the power to send their forces to get rid of this problem. They’d see it as an attempt to conquer them.
"Don’t they have their own armies to deter these kinds of attacks?" Michael asked them.
"That’s the thing, boss. These marauders don’t come for any strategic buildings or garrisons. They only rob the civilians."
"What do they rob?" Michael already had a feeling as to what.
"Automobiles," Narito answered.
Michael grumbled. It was starting.
With the advent of the new age, a period where magic was unavailable, the automobile was going to be a critical piece of machinery going forward.
Before, it was just a convenient method of transportation. But it was nowhere near as vital.
Now, everyone needed it.
