Reborn in the 1980s: Recapture My Devoted Husband
Chapter 1045 - 826: The Second Half of Ye Qing’s Journey 3_3
Unable to find the driver, Han Yi went straight back to Lin Wan’s hospital room.
When he left, she was sleeping, and when he returned, Lin Wan was still asleep.
This made Han Yi feel a bit worried.
Instead, Liang Qian comforted him by saying, "The doctor said this is normal. After all, she lost so much blood, and her body is weak now, and she doesn’t feel well. It’s all normal. She’ll be better in a few days."
Han Yi thought about the last time he was injured and lost too much blood; it was the same way.
Knowing Xiao Wan had lunch, he felt relieved. Tired, he pinched the bridge of his nose and sat by Lin Wan’s bed. Within minutes, he fell asleep.
Liang Qian originally wanted him to go home and rest, but seeing how exhausted he looked, she didn’t dare wake him. She just gently touched his forehead, afraid his wound might get infected and cause a fever.
Little Star saw her dad asleep sitting like that and felt sorry for him, quickly grabbing the cotton jacket Lin Wan took off last night. With her clumsy little hands, she tried to drape it over Han Yi. But after a long while, she still didn’t manage to put it on him.
Finally, Liang Qian helped her drape it over Han Yi.
"Mom and Dad are asleep, Little Star and Grandma, let’s go home first, shall we? We’ll go home and make some delicious food for your Mom and come back."
"Okay, Grandma, let’s hurry and walk."
"Yes, let’s go."
As auntie took Little Star out of the hospital room, Han Yi’s closed eyes slightly opened. He had fallen asleep, but when auntie touched his forehead, he woke up.
Later, he found his daughter adding clothes for him. He wanted to reach out and hug his sensible daughter. Just feeling her clumsy movements made him think his daughter was particularly cute. So he let her fuss over him. In the end, he realy didn’t want to move, letting them care for him.
Once the room was empty, Han Yi leaned closer to the bed, held Lin Wan’s hand, and fell asleep directly by her bedside.
Lin Wan woke up after a good sleep, feeling much more refreshed. She found the hospital room was quiet, without Little Star’s chattering voice. Lin Wan raised her eyes suspiciously to look for her, only to find that Han Yi had returned at some point and was sleeping soundly on her legs. Lin Wan dared not wake him up, cautiously sat up halfway, and adjusted the clothes on him.
She recalled when she was in a coma and couldn’t tell if it was a dream or an illusion. Everything inside was like her past life, existing so vividly. She remembered the final moment when Han Yi held her, saying those words.
Perhaps that was what truly happened in her past life; only she didn’t know it. Thinking back to her life in that previous life, it could be summed up with one word: self-inflicted harm, hurting others and herself.
There wasn’t a single thing that put the family at ease. Now thinking about it, those long decades, she didn’t even know how she managed to get through, not having grown any bit of wisdom.
Maybe heaven couldn’t stand it, felt she owed too much to her family, owed Han Yi too much, and purposely let Han Yi bring her back so she could properly make up for her mistakes.
When Han Yi woke up, he saw Lin Wan half lying in bed, holding a cup of hot water, staring at him without blinking.
Han Yi raised his hand to look at the watch, realizing it was already late.
"How did I sleep for so long? Why didn’t you wake me?"
"I saw you sleeping soundly and didn’t dare wake you. Besides, there’s nothing going on, so I let you rest well. Sitting and sleeping for so long, are your legs numb?"
Han Yi shook his head, instead looking at Lin Wan and asked, "It’s already past eight. Have you eaten?"
"Yes, godmother brought food from home. She even specifically saved some for you."
"Auntie came?" Han Yi then realized how deeply he had been sleeping.
"Not only did godmother come, but throughout the day, the Mei family all came. Grandpa and Grandma came in the morning, Dad in the afternoon, and godfather also came. Seeing you asleep, they didn’t wake you."
Han Yi lowered his head and rubbed his forehead, surprised at how tired he had been. So many people came this afternoon, and he didn’t hear a single noise.
"Are you feeling better? Is your head still dizzy?"
"Much better. The doctor said my head injury is recovering well, and the fetal heart is also very stable. I feel like I could be discharged after a few days in the hospital, but the doctor insists I stay until the baby is born. There’s still over a month to go, and I really want to return to Z City."
"Be good, listen to reason. The doctor’s advice makes sense; to prevent any accidents, we should stay here until the baby is born and then go back."
Lin Wan seemed satisfied, holding Han Yi and acting spoiled, "You won’t be able to stay here long, leaving me alone here. I don’t want that."
"I will be here with you for the next few days. When the baby is about to be born, I will definitely come back. Also, yesterday auntie called Mom and Dad, and I guess they should arrive tomorrow. Then I’ll talk to Mother-in-law, asking her to stay here with you. Is that okay?"
"Today godmother talked to me. I simply don’t want to leave you and our daughter."
Han Yi rubbed Lin Wan’s hair and said, "It’s only temporary. Where’s godmother?"
