Chapter 256: Rounding Things Up

"You Bitch!" The man did not expect Han Ruochen to fight back. Usually, even if a woman were wary of them, she would still fall into their trap. To think that Han Ruochen was not only able to fight back, but she did it with quite some ease; it made the men fearful, but at the same time, they were filled with the thrill of taking such a woman down.

One of the human traffickers looked at his brother and asked, "Are we going to continue?"

"Continue? What continue?" The man said angrily. Now that Han Ruochen had made a fuss, they could no longer continue. Though he was unwilling to give up, there was no other choice but to give up. Even if this woman was beautiful, she was not beautiful enough for them to go to prison. Even if no one came to rescue her, the man was not sure that the situation would remain the same if the woman continued to make noise.

He glared at Han Ruochen hatefully and then said to his men, "Go back."

When Han Ruochen heard that the three men had given up, she sighed in relief. At least she managed to hold them off.

The three human traffickers were disgruntled. They were not at all happy when they saw the meat that had almost gone in their mouths disappear into thin air. But what could they do? They had no other choice but to fall back and come up with another scheme. Unfortunately, they might never get that chance again.

"Hands up!" A gruff voice sounded behind the three men, who were startled at once. They turned around on their feet, and their pupils dilated in fear when they saw four to five policemen walking toward them with guns in their hands. "Did you not hear what I said? Hands where I can see them."

The human traffickers were shocked when they saw the scene in front of them. They wanted to fight back, but the police officers did not give them a chance. They knocked them down in one swift move and handcuffed each one of them. The three men did not expect that such a small thing would end up becoming such a big one.

They tried to struggle but were firmly held down by the police officers.

Han Ruochen was relieved when she saw the police officers appear; it seemed like Zhai Muchen arrived just in time, or else she was worried that these human traffickers would have harmed someone else. After all, she had seen the unwillingness in the eyes of the men when they saw her escape from their clutches. They must be unwilling to let go of her. Since they were not willing, they would naturally target someone else. It was a good thing that they were caught before they could hurt another innocent person.

"Xiao Ruochen."

Speak of Cao Cao, and Cao Cao would appear.

Han Ruochen turned to look at the man, who still looked windswept, appear in front of her and for the first time since the start of the train journey, felt relieved.

"Brother Muchen!" Han Ruochen walked over to where Zhai Muchen was standing. "You came."

Zhai Muchen smiled calmly. "Of course. How can I ignore such an important matter?" He turned to look at the three men whom they had caught, and all the traces of smiles vanished from his lips. He said to the three of them sternly, "Unless you want to be executed, you might as well tell the names of your team members."

The man, however, was not scared by his threats. He simply grinned at Zhai Muchen and said to him, "You will kill us nonetheless. Why should we cooperate with you?" The man knew that Zhai Muchen was only playing lip service to him. It was impossible for the army to let them go after all the crimes that they had committed. Since that was the case, he might as well hide the identities of Brother Scar and the old woman. That way, there would be someone to avenge him after his death.

Zhai Muchen stared at the man and nodded. "I admire your courage."

He then turned to look at Han Ruochen and said to her, "Can you take me to the old woman? I want to check if the boy she had kidnapped is Jiang Chen or not." As soon as he finished speaking, the human trafficker turned worried. His head snapped up, and his eyes turned wide in horror. What?

He glanced at Han Ruochen and then at the army officer who had appeared out of nowhere and suddenly understood what was going on. He glared at Han Ruochen through red eyes and shouted, "You! You have ruined us."

Now he understood why this woman was on guard against them. She knew from the start that they were human traffickers, and that old woman! She was so foolish. She thought that she had fooled this woman, but who would have thought that this pretty lady was the one who was leading them by their noses?

Han Ruochen coldly looked at the man, who was shouting at her and sneered. "I ruined you? Are you sure about that? If anything, you are the one who has ruined countless lives by stealing their wives, sisters and children from them. I did not ruin you; it’s your comeuppance that finally caught you."

The human trafficker opened his mouth to say something more, but he was stopped by Zhai Muchen, who waved his hands and let the police officers take the three men away. The second the three men were taken away, it was as if the air had cleaned itself, and Han Ruochen found it easy to breathe.

"Don’t be worried." Zhai Muchen’s eyes softened when he saw her pale face. He knew that even though Han Ruochen was the one in control of the situation, she was still a little girl from a small village. How could she not be scared after facing such a thrilling event? It was good enough that she was standing tall on her feet.
