Chapter 418: Chapter 289: Battlefield of the Gods: The Demon Lord Descends to Subdue All (Part 2)

Constantinople, the main battlefield.

BOOM!!

High overhead, thunder boomed as ominous clouds blanketed the sky, streaked with lightning that coiled like dragons.

It was an apocalyptic weather event, triggered by the immense magnetic field that had gathered on the surface.

The Eye of Omniscience hung high overhead, its brilliant light showering the earth and enveloping the entire battlefield.

In mid-air, a myriad of strange phenomena unfolded.

Black bats streaked across the sky. A colossal Nether Fire Knight, wreathed in eerie green flames, gazed down from above. A pillar of white light, accompanied by the trumpeting of an elephant, shot toward the heavens. A grayish-white Realm spread out, causing all color to fade from the world it touched. Massive, golden Sanskrit characters floated in the air. A gigantic snake Spirit reared its head and hissed at the sky...

It was a scene never before witnessed in the mortal world—a true Battlefield of the Gods!

Within a one-kilometer radius of the battlefield, ordinary people could not even remain standing. They would either faint on the spot or be forced to retreat by a burning sensation in their organs. Further out, within a ten-kilometer radius, all communication devices were affected and lost their signal.

By now, nearly all civilians around the battlefield had either fled or been evacuated, but there were always those who swam against the current.

Some of these people were intelligence agents from various world governments who had been stationed in Constantinople and just so happened to be in the vicinity. However, they were a small minority. After all, most countries had no prior intelligence that a battle between Ancient Ones was about to erupt in Constantinople. Any agents dispatched at the last minute had yet to reach the battlefield. The majority were local intelligence operatives from Jun City’s own government.

Another group consisted of intelligence agents from various Secret Organizations. These groups had known a major battle might erupt in Jun City and had positioned their operatives to lie in wait beforehand.

Although these people had not reached the Saint Realm, it was for this very reason that the Illuminati did not see them as threats to be deliberately blocked or eliminated. As a result, they were able to get a first-hand look at the situation on the main battlefield.

The final group was composed of ordinary civilians who happened to be near the battlefield when it all started—the daring few who wanted to know what on earth was happening.

On the rooftop of a building one kilometer from the battlefield.

Liu Xue and her cameraman were on the rooftop. It was a good spot, just outside the zone where the effects on the human body were most intense. From here, they could glimpse a corner of the battlefield and witness the battle between those secretive beings.

It was a battle that completely shattered their perception of reality.

Terrifying flares of light, supernatural phenomena straight out of a Myth soaring into the sky, and movement speeds too fast for the naked eye to track...

Even more terrifying was their destructive power. The concrete walls of skyscrapers were like tofu before them. Even the tough steel rebar skeletons within could not withstand their attacks, each one landing with the force of an artillery shell.

Liu Xue and the cameraman had no doubt that even heavy armored vehicles or tanks would be unable to withstand their attacks. They would probably tear right through the armor plating.

Even from more than a kilometer away, they could still feel the earth tremble and the sky roar.

These life-forms could no longer be called human. They were true Deities, humanoid machines of destruction.

’How can humans possibly be this strong?!’

"Brother Yu, can’t you get any of this fighting on camera?"

Liu Xue asked, her voice tinged with frustration.

"I can’t get a clear shot. The footage is just too blurry. I think the magnetic field they’re putting out is too strong; it’s interfering with the equipment. Besides, they’re moving way too fast. There’s no way to capture anything of value in these conditions."

The cameraman, Brother Yu, said, shaking his head.

"But even if we can’t get clear footage of the battle itself, the close-ups we got of the atmospheric phenomena, the supernatural visions, and the destruction of the buildings—that’s already prime, first-hand material. If we can just get out of here and submit this, it’s guaranteed to cause a massive stir in the industry."

Seeing Liu Xue’s disappointment, Brother Yu couldn’t help but try to console her.

They were lucky. They were the closest to the battlefield, and they had professional equipment. Even if the footage was blurry, it was still a hundred times better than anything shot on a cell phone. It was absolutely the number one scoop for the industry.

BOOM!!

Suddenly, a terrifying explosion roared from the direction of the battlefield. A crimson radiance, like a geyser of bloody magma erupting from Hell, shot straight into the sky before bursting outward like a firework. For a moment, the sheer shock of this vision completely suppressed all other phenomena on the battlefield.

Along with the tremendous boom and the startling vision, Liu Xue and Brother Yu felt a violent tremor. The entire skyscraper they were on began to sway. Windows shattered from the motion, their fragments tinkling as they fell from high above.

The surrounding buildings were all in a similar state.

’What on earth happened?! Could the Starry Sky Country’s fleet at sea have launched a missile strike?!’

The two exchanged a look. This level of destruction seemed beyond human capability, and they found it hard to believe it was man-made.

Unfortunately, their position only allowed them to see a corner of the battlefield. They could not observe the full extent of it.

However, while they could not, others could.

Within a kilometer of the battlefield was a virtual no-go zone for ordinary people, yet there were still figures observing from up close.

They were all intelligence agents from various Secret Organizations. Though they had not reached the Saint Realm, they all possessed some level of Cultivation and were protected by Dharma Artifacts provided by their respective organizations, which enabled them to observe from a much closer distance.

Two hundred meters from the edge of the battlefield, atop a skyscraper, was a position that offered an almost unobstructed view of the entire battle.

「Time rewound to the moments before the earth-shattering boom.」

"The Celestial Generals still haven’t arrived?"

Several figures were now perched high atop the skyscraper, observing the battlefield. They were all intelligence agents sent to Jun City by the God-Sealing Alliance.
