"I don’t think that’s it" Bell replied as he stood up, he held her arm while looking at the screen. "The boss should be here any minute now"

"How are you so su..."

It was like the system heard him and in that very moment, he sensed an ominous presence and he immediately turned to Ryu who had really sensed it. She tried to push him out of the way but thanks to his reflexes, Bell managed to push his sister away and the suddenly felt a sharp pain on his right arm, only to look up and see his arm flying off and landed a few meters away from him.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Wahhhhhh!!!! Rahhhhhhh!!!! Ahhhhh!!" Bell let out a cry the followed by screaming as he rolled on the ground while clenching his right arm, his blood quickly forming a pool around him.

Ryu sat up, her eyes widen and filled with tears as she sat on the ground feeling terrified as she heard her brother’s scream, it took her awhile to regain her senses before she recited her spell and a glowing magic circle appeared below Bell. But even after casting her [healing ground], she could still hear her brother, his screaming didn’t stop.

Her heart started pounding against her chest, she cast the spell again but it didn’t work, just like before. She stood up but immediately fell back to the ground, her ankle began hurting. Even though she couldn’t see it, it was obvious that it was broken, it must have been when Bell pushed her out of danger but the pain wasn’t as much as her brother was feeling at that moment, so she didn’t scream or cry out even though she wasn’t to.

Instead, she began to crawl to Bell, using her arms to pull her body towards his voice. His crying getting louder and the pain she felt was also getting stronger. As she got closer, she felt some thick liquid quickly flowing past her. Her breathing stopped, she stretched out her arm and thankfully it reached her brother.

"...Big brother?..." she called out weakly.

Bell held his arm tightly, hoping the bleeding would stop as he cried but it felt like the tighter he held his arm, the more painful it became.

_What kind of monster ...?_ He couldn’t even think straight because of the pain. _Why does it hurt this much?_

Suddenly a magic circle appeared below him, making Bell felt a little better, at least Ryu was still alive. But even after the spell, his arm didn’t regrow neither did it close up, instead it made the wound fresher which made him scream even louder. That was until he felt someone touched him, he couldn’t hear her clearly but he was sure that it was Ryu.

He forced himself to look at her, she was always terrified. It must be a lot more worst for her considering the fact that she can’t even see, she could only hear his screaming and assume the worse. In that moment, Bell slowly calmed down as he took slow breaths till he was finally quiet. The arm still hurt but he endured it.

"Ryu?..." he called, he voice still barely audible. "Are you okay?"

Ryu smiled but this time, it wasn’t forced. It was a genuine smile, her brother really care too much about her.

"I am fine"

With that reply, Bell also smiled as he stood up. He reach for his amputated arm and tried to put it back.

"Ryu" even though he just called her name, she already knows what to do. Without even reciting an incantation or pointing her arms to where she want the circle to appear, a magic circle appeared below them and their bodies began to glow in the bright green light. Slowly and painfully, Bell arm was attached to his body while Ryu leg was also straightened.

Bell left out a sigh of relief as he tried to stand up.

"You haven’t forgot about me, have you?"

Bell froze, he couldn’t tell why but for some reason the air felt heavier. He turned the monster standing at the other side of the battleground, it was also a ogre. Almost the same like the once he had fought before but how did it cut his arm in such a short amount of time.

The ogre was taller than the once he fought before, almost twelve feet tall and if Bell was to guess its weight, it would be more than three hundred kilograms, enough to kill him with one stomp. The ogre wore same rags as the rest but also had a simple armour like chest plate and a gauntlet and a pair of iron boots which Bell had guessed was to cover it weak points. It was also equipped with two large kukris that were both struck into the ground, taking a closer look at the weapons, Bell couldn’t find his blood.

So if he was to fight this thing, not only was it protecting all its weak points, it also wielded weapons strong enough to kill him without leaving any evidence.

"As a warrior, it would be a disgrace to my lineage if I had attacked and killed you from behind" the ogre spoke with such high intelligence that made Bell confused, even though it was supposed to be impossible because of its teeth that had grown to long that they were sticking out of its mouth. "But seeing you kill my children, I just can’t forgive you."

"Huh?" Bell didn’t know how to reply.

"In our clan, weakness is punishable by death but as their father, if my children are killed by a human - no matter how weak they are - I must challenge that human and fight to the death"

Bell was still trying to wrap his head around it all, those monsters attacked him first and he killed them, it wasn’t his fault. But, if their father can talk, wouldn’t that mean they could talk too. Maybe when the ogre was trying to run, he was pleading for his life but... his was blinded by rage. Well, it doesn’t matter now, all that matters is surviving and he’ll do whatever it take to keep his sister safe.

_i’ll kill anyone that tries to hurt her_

"I, king Gallok the conqueror, challenge you to a battle to the death" The ogre king said with a smile. "What do you say, human?"

"I accept" Bell replied with the same cold voice he had used at the other ogres. "I’ll send you to your children"
