Laura Jones didn’t hide it from her, and certainly didn’t think selling her film rights would make Selim unhappy, she replied cheerfully:

"The editor contacted me today, and the film rights to my book were sold."

Selim immediately put on an expression of surprise, cupping her face with her hands, exclaiming:

"Really, Laura, congratulations to you."

"Thank you~"

She moved forward, placing a hand on Selim’s shoulder, saying:

"Order anything you want later, no need to be polite with me."

"Of course, I’m going to have a feast at your expense."

After getting ready, the two headed downstairs. At the entrance of the complex, they saw Hannah Taylor already waiting in her flashy sports car.

"Get in the car."

Hannah Taylor waved at Laura and Selim, her eyes lingering on Selim with an intriguing look.

The sports car had its top down, bringing a slight chill.

Selim had written so many domineering CEO stories and countless times she imagined herself as the heroine sitting in a CEO’s luxury car. Today, she sat in such a car for the first time.

She intentionally or unintentionally flicked the hair by her temple, using her Eye Corner to appreciate the onlookers who seemed inexperienced. That sudden sense of superiority made her feel exceedingly proud.

No wonder so many women give up their dignity to be mistresses and get kept by men. This kind of life truly satisfies both material pleasure and mental vanity.

Selim’s gaze fell on Hannah Taylor, and she said in an admiring tone:

"Hannah, your car is really beautiful, lots of people were staring at us along the way."
