In short, for quite a while afterward, Emma Williams kept throwing shady remarks at Laura Jones, but Laura couldn’t be bothered to pay her any attention. Emma, on the other hand, had the intention to stir things up but couldn’t manage to do so.

Soon, the semester came to an end, and before they knew it, the day for the official filming of "Seeking for the Noble" arrived.

William Wilson joined the crew early in the morning.

Laura glanced at it but didn’t reply. At this hour, the crew should have started filming.

As a member of the scriptwriting creative team, Laura was actually pulled into the crew as a script consultant.

This made many in the crew wonder just how influential this fresh, unknown author must be to receive such favoritism from the investors.

When Laura heard about this, she was momentarily dumbfounded.

If she didn’t know for a fact her family was unaware she was writing novels, she might have suspected the generous investor had the last name Jones too.

Thus, in actuality, Laura’s role as a so-called creative consultant meant that when the screenwriters adapted the script, they first had to consult her opinion.

If she thought it was fine, then it was fine.

Or, if during filming, some parts of the plot needed to be changed due to unforeseen reasons, they would need to check with her to see if it affected the overall storyline.

Laura understood that since the investor firmly required no changes to the original and since they had invited top-tier actors for the lead roles, the crew was keen not to mess up this production.

Fortunately, apart from the no-change policy regarding the original script and dialogue, the investors had no other demands.

Well, except for a small investor who inserted an actress for a supporting third female role.

The girl’s image fit the "ideal beauty" character setting, so the crew accepted it.

These matters were widely discussed online, and Laura found out a bit about them.

Additionally, with Emma Williams, this "ideal beauty," going around boasting about getting into the crew through connections, it was hard for Laura not to know.

After getting ready, it was already past ten o’clock.

The scriptwriting team wasn’t required to be on set today, and some parts of the script had already been sent to the crew.

Thus, Laura wasn’t in a hurry.

Having just started winter break, Laura first went back to her home in Boston to spend a couple of days with her parents and then mentioned her plan to join the filming crew.

"What’s going on? You’ve been home for only two days and you’re leaving already?"

"Dad, I checked with the crew, and I really don’t have to stay that long. At most one week, and once I’ve finished the script, I can come back first. I don’t need to stay with the crew the whole time."

Laura leaned against Adam Jones, softly comforting him.

"Heh, I think you just want to hang out with that William Wilson kid."

Previously, the little chubby kid was so endearing, but now he’s becoming quite a nuisance, even trying to take his daughter away.
