Chapter 215: Chapter 213: Mistaken for a Thief

Wei Yilong was wearing a hard hat, his face covered in dust. It was clear the guy was really giving it his all.

Seeing that Wei Yilong hadn’t noticed his arrival, Fang Chenyi snuck up and clapped him on the shoulder, scaring the daylights out of the man.

When he saw clearly that it was Fang Chenyi, Wei Yilong’s expression immediately soured.

His gaze toward Fang Chenyi was filled with resentment.

"Holy crap, Boss! To what do we owe the honor of your esteemed presence at the company?"

Fang Chenyi completely ignored Wei Yilong’s resentful glare, changing the subject.

"Haha, with great power comes great responsibility, right? So, Yilong, how much longer until this place is officially up and running?"

Wei Yilong thought for a moment before replying.

"Soon, it should be soon. One more month at most, and we can officially start operations!"

Fang Chenyi was speechless when he heard it would still be another month.

"Yilong, I’m not trying to nag you, but I remember you saying before that we just needed to clean up a bit and we’d be good to go. How did that turn into a whole month?"

At the mention of this, Wei Yilong suddenly perked up. He pointed grandly at the construction site in front of them and said:

"Heh, Boss, you allocated a hundred million to me last time! With that kind of money, we can’t just make do like before! See that? That’s all imported equipment I spent a fortune on from overseas! Don’t you worry, Boss. I’m going to make our company the best garbage-sorting and environmental processing company in all of Huaxia!"

Ugh... hmm...

’Right now, Fang Chenyi really wanted to beat the crap out of this kid. His whole reason for starting this company was to make it easier for him to scavenge junk. He wanted to start efficiently collecting scrap as soon as possible, and now this guy had just delayed everything by a month!’

’But then again, if this really became the largest waste processing center in all of Huaxia, his future scavenging efforts would be that much more efficient.’

After some thought, he decided he couldn’t rush things. Haste makes waste, after all. He waved his hand magnanimously.

"Alright, not bad. I’ll wire you another two hundred million later. If that’s not enough, I’ll add more! If you think it’s necessary, expand the scale. We have to be the biggest!"

Wei Yilong, who had just picked up a water bottle for a sip, was so stunned by Fang Chenyi’s commanding words that he did a spit-take.

He coughed for a long time before he finally recovered enough to speak.

"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH... B-Boss, did you say another two... two hundred million? Hahaha, that’s fantastic! That’s just enough for a ten-thousand-ton separator unit!"

Fang Chenyi refused Wei Yilong’s offer to accompany him and started wandering around the factory on his own.

He ambled his way into a workshop where the equipment had just been installed.

Seeing the floor littered with discarded cardboard boxes and plastic packaging, Fang Chenyi’s hands started to itch. He glanced left and right, and after seeing no one around, he shook out his woven bag and got back to his old trade.

However, just as he had picked up two items, a loud shout came from behind him.

"Hey! What do you think you’re doing!"

Startled by the shout, he turned to see two young security guards in uniform, holding rubber batons and running menacingly toward him.

Seeing this, Fang Chenyi shook his head helplessly. ’Looks like I won’t be able to pick up all this good stuff today.’

"Hey, I’m talking to you! What are you doing here? What’s in that bag? Take it out and let us see!"

Obviously, the two guards had mistaken Fang Chenyi for a thief. As they spoke, they moved to snatch his woven bag.

Seeing their aggressive posture, Fang Chenyi quickly dodged, then swiftly folded his woven bag and put it away.

’Are you kidding me? This bag is my treasure. There’s no way I’m letting anyone else see it.’

However, when the two guards saw Fang Chenyi’s tense reaction, they became even more convinced that he was a thief.

So, without another word, they moved forward to subdue him first and ask questions later.

Facing the two charging guards, Fang Chenyi felt a headache coming on. After dodging with a quick sidestep, he hurriedly tried to explain.

"Gentlemen, don’t misunderstand! I’m on your side! One of your own!"

But the guards, who had already pegged Fang Chenyi as a thief, weren’t about to listen to him. When their first attempt failed, they exchanged a look, then simultaneously attacked from the left and right, one kicking at his stomach and the other at his legs.

Fang Chenyi was surprised by this. He hadn’t expected these two guards, who were only about five-foot-nine and didn’t look particularly muscular, to be trained martial artists.

’Now Fang Chenyi was intrigued. He really wanted to see what kind of skills his own company’s security guards had.’

Watching the two feet—one high, one low—coming at him, Fang Chenyi shouted, "Nice one!" He then pushed off with both feet, leaping straight up. While dodging the lower kick, he executed a flying kick in mid-air, accurately striking the foot aiming for his chest.

With a dull THUD, their legs collided in mid-air. Fang Chenyi landed smoothly, while the other man stumbled back several steps after being kicked. Of course, this was only because Fang Chenyi had used just sixty percent of his strength.

After landing, he smiled and clapped his hands together. He was just about to speak when he felt a rush of air heading straight for his face.

He instinctively tilted his head to the side, just in time to see a booted foot flash past his face.

"Holy shit, you’re still at it!"

It turned out the guard who had attacked his lower body was already back on his feet.

After shouting, "Holy shit," Fang Chenyi didn’t even wait for the man’s leg to touch the ground before raising his own for a kick.

The guard who had just aimed for his face was kicked squarely in the butt, sending him falling face-first to the ground with a THUD.

He had just dealt with that one when the other guard, the one he had kicked back several steps, charged at him again.

"Yo, pretty persistent, aren’t you? Well, I’ve got nothing better to do today, so I guess I’ll play with you two for a bit."

With that, Fang Chenyi charged forward as well.

It was a flurry of fists and feet. No matter how many times Fang Chenyi knocked them back, the two guards remained completely undiscouraged. For a moment, the three of them were having a blast fighting in the workshop.

「Three minutes later.」

A group of at least a dozen more security guards, all holding rubber batons, suddenly rushed in through the doorway. Without a word, they immediately surrounded Fang Chenyi.

The two guards who had been sparring with Fang Chenyi saw this and finally let out a long sigh of relief.
