Chapter 795: Chapter 795. Broken Justice

Amon returned to the outside world. He stored the prison box before going to where Yun Chao’s bones were scattered. He swept the bones aside and crouched beside the broken sword.

"The Light of Justice," Amon muttered. Aside from its strong aura, he also sensed rich light elements from the sword. He grabbed the hilt.

’Heavy,’ Amon thought as he lifted the broken sword. He touched the blade, and it easily sliced through his skin, drawing blood.

"Still sharp," Amon remarked.

The materials that composed this sword were extremely hardy. Its engraving was also incredibly complex. Amon had never seen engravings such as those on this sword. Even after such a long time had passed, and even with clear visible damage, its aura was still very strong. The force needed to break this sword when it was at its peak must be immense.

Amon couldn’t tell for sure, but considering this was the weapon of possibly the strongest person in this cultivation world, its grade should be the Divine grade. However, considering its current condition, Amon didn’t think its power was even half of what it originally was.

Despite its weakened condition, this broken sword was still much better than his Moonfire Dagger. This sword might be broken, but its broken state made it an ideal size for a dagger.

Amon swung the broken sword around. Though it was heavy, he felt that his swinging speed increased with each swing. He slashed the broken sword against a nearby rock pillar. The blade went through the rock without resistance. He didn’t even feel that he hit anything. The rock pillar crumbled. The part where it was sliced by the blade was extremely smooth.

"Hm..." Amon tried inserting his infernal aether into the broken sword. Most weapons of the Runic grade and above possessed a special ability when their users injected their energies. However, nothing happened.

Amon wasn’t discouraged. This broken sword used to be the weapon of a divine cultivator. It wasn’t surprising if it didn’t respond to infernal energy. Amon simply wanted to make sure.

He channeled his divine energy. Something happened this time. The blade shone brightly. It was as if he were holding a beacon of blinding light. Despite the intense brightness, he didn’t find his view blinded. Instead, it was intensified.

"Mm... Lin Li, Yuka. Come out."

Lin Li obeyed his command. "Brother, what do you need?" She asked.

Amon noticed she was not affected by the bright light. He turned his mind into the black space ring. Yuka was lounging near the lake. She didn’t heed Amon’s command.

The space inside the black space ring was under his total control. He could kick out anything inside if he wished to. He did so with Yuka. The giant butterfly beast materialized beside him.

Yuka was annoyed by this. She was facing away from Amon when she appeared. She turned to Amon while complaining, "What the hell do you think... Ahh...!! What’s with that light? I can’t see!!"

Lin Li was confused by Yuka’s response, but Amon was not.

’As expected,’ Amon thought. Lin Li wasn’t affected by the sword’s light because she had a mental link with him. Yuka, on the other hand, was not. The light blinded her. However, Amon believed the power of this sword went further than simply blinding the opponents.

"Can you sense my presence?" Amon asked Yuka.

"What...? No! I can’t! It’s like something has shrouded me... What did you do?!" Yuka asked alarmingly.

Amon swung the broken sword in a direction. The swing discharged a light, which shot far and struck the wall at the opposite end. The wall broke apart. The light went deep but stopped after hitting the edge of the pocket space.

"What did you do?!" Yuka demanded. She was concerned about the explosive sound when the light hit the wall.

Amon didn’t answer her. He performed another swing. The light this time was aimed at the swirling blackness on the ceiling. The light hit, but it simply seeped into the darkness. It didn’t even cause a ripple.

He wasn’t surprised. If this weapon could carve a way out of here, Yun Chao would have used it. Nevertheless, he was very glad that the enchantment in this weapon was still working. It might not be as powerful as when it was a whole sword, but it still outclassed all the weapons he had encountered thus far.

He stopped experimenting with the weapon. The bright light vanished. Yuka could see again.

"What the hell was that?" She asked angrily.

"My new weapon, the Broken Justice," Amon answered.

"I don’t give a shit even if that broken sword of yours is called the Noble Sword or Master Sword, do you think I am your minion, whom you can call and order as you like? Our relationship is based on an agreement, and I have fulfilled all your requests. Now, get this thing off my neck!"

"Not really. You haven’t completed my last request."

"Don’t try to joke with me, boy. Your last request is for me to guide you to the humanoid Cryanid we fought with. I have done it."

"You have brought me to his nest. I haven’t met the one we were tracking."

Yuka narrowed his eyes and stared at Amon menacingly. "I am not amused, human. Are you trying to play me? I know your objective is not that particular humanoid Cryanid. He simply happens to be at the place where your objective lies. If you think I’m going to just roll with it, you have another thing coming!"

Amon took out a talisman. It was the one controlling the control collar on Yuka’s neck.

Yuka was alarmed by the sight. Was Amon finally throwing away all pretense and burning the bridge between them? She adopted an aggressive stance, ready for confrontation.

The talisman in Amon’s hand flared. Yuka jerked, expecting the control collar to explode. Instead, it split in two and fell to the ground.

"You are right," Amon said. "You have done what I asked. You are a free beast now. Go. I won’t stop you."

Yuka looked around the place. Her gaze stopped at the swirling blackness on the ceiling and lingered there for quite some while.

She cursed, "Motherfucker! This place is a pocket dimension, with a very strong lid on its exit. There is no way I can get out of here on my own."

"You have a good spatial awareness. Nevertheless, your inability to leave this place is not my problem," Amon said while shrugging. "I have already fulfilled my end of the bargain. I don’t care what you do next, or do you still want to eat me as you threatened me years ago? If so, I welcome the challenge."

Yuka looked at the broken blade on Amon’s hand. She already experienced its blinding light. From its aura, she could tell it was also very powerful. She wasn’t confident her body could endure getting slashed by it. Amon could already fight her on an almost equal footing without that weapon. Not to mention, Lin Li was also there, and she knew Amon still had the Sun Ray Hawk and many battle puppets inside his black space ring. She would be at a disadvantage if she showed hostility toward Amon.

"Tch! Whatever. You are also trapped here. I have my eyes on you. You won’t leave this place without me."

Amon again shrugged. He stopped conversing with her and turned around. He told Lin Li to return inside the black space ring. Lin Li glanced suspiciously at Yuka before doing so. Afterward, Amon sat before the wall with the inscriptions and contemplated the second part of Yun Chao’s scribblings.

Yuka moved around the cavern. She kept glancing back at Amon. She wasn’t looking for a way out. She already knew it was impossible. She was restless. She actually wished to return to the black space ring. The atmosphere inside was way better. It had many spirit plants and a lake enhanced by the Spring of Life. These enriched the air inside, making it much fresher. There were also plenty of aether-rich fish inside the lake, which she could consume. It beats being out here inside this gloomy cavern. However, she was too prideful to ask Amon to return her inside. Thus, she continued to move around aimlessly.

Amon ignored her. Though a part of his awareness remained watching her in case she tried anything, most of his mind was on the scribblings.

He could read the texts but couldn’t immediately understand them. He didn’t give up. He reread them word for word, again and again. Yun Chao never mentioned his cultivation level in his tale, but considering he could fight the Divine, he must be someone with cultivation within the Devil realm. A cultivation art from someone like him wouldn’t be that easy to comprehend.

Amon persevered. His infernal cultivation art was only effective until the Supreme Stage. Though he was still a way from that stage, it would not hurt to learn a better cultivation art. As for his divine cultivation art, he had learned a new one when he was promoted to a General in Echos. However, like most cultivation arts in Aetheria, it capped below the Demigod realm.

Thus, he needed to learn a new cultivation art that would allow him to surpass his current limit.
