S-Rank Harem: I Became My Character with Extra Control Skill
Chapter 118: The Training Center and Irina’s Visit
Now that Ryan was at the training field, he stopped for a moment to observe the entire place.
He realized that the terrain was quite spacious.
The ground was leveled, and there were various wooden structures distributed throughout the practice area.
At that precise moment, Karol, Helen, and Mirian finished arriving, walking quickly toward where he was.
They approached Ryan with curiosity, looking at the thirty-seven women who were fighting among themselves in the center of the field.
They asked what everyone was doing gathered there with a look of doubt on their faces.
So Ryan briefly explained the reason for the summons and his plan to evaluate the village’s military power.
"All of them are considered civilians, but if something were to happen, I would like more people to help protect the weaker ones, such as children or the elderly."
While Karol curiously observed every corner of the field, she commented that she hadn’t realized there was a place like this.
The mage floated a few centimeters above the ground, analyzing the layout of the targets used for practice.
Alicia took advantage of the moment and explained that this was the main training center for soldiers and where those who would be recruited are trained.
Even though the skills of the elves in this village do not exceed A-rank, most of them are within B-rank.
Alicia pointed toward the various stations that formed the complex as she continued speaking in a clear voice.
"As you can see, over there are posts for striking with swords, further on are the targets for arrows, and in that spot, they practice with spears."
She described each zone with a precision that showed how well she knew the internal workings of the settlement.
"But, of course, if they were to use all their power, this place would be destroyed in a few minutes," the assistant added seriously.
"So they usually practice using common wooden weapons to avoid unnecessary accidents."
Karol listened intently. Then Alicia continued explaining.
"Unlike other places in the outside world, where training fields are special and are usually forged to resist damage," Alicia concluded.
’So, they use something similar or identical to the damage reduction property of my Chimera Sword, right?’
"Although it surprises me that you know so much about the elves, Alicia."
Alicia smiled modestly and lowered her head slightly at the direct praise from her king.
"I... I studied as much as I could about the village and about anything that you, Your Majesty, might need to know."
She looked up and continued. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"My strength may remain at A-rank for now," Alicia commented with a tone of voice that overflowed with confidence.
"But I assure you that I will strive so that my efficiency in knowledge is comparable to the strength of an S-rank."
Ryan was paying attention to her words, but suddenly, screams of pain were heard coming from the center of the field.
And loud, noisy laughter broke the atmosphere of the conversation they were having.
Looking toward the combat zone, Ryan saw that Helen had already thrown herself into the action without waiting for any order.
Helen was in the middle of the training field and had left several of the elven warriors on the ground with blunt movements.
"May I ask what you think you are doing?" Ryan asked severely as he approached the disaster zone.
Helen turned with a mischievous smile, holding her sword with one hand in a nonchalant manner.
"Sorry, Ryan, I didn’t think they were so weak that they would fall with a simple shove. Hahaha."
"Even though we just came from fighting demons in Kowarre, she still wants to keep fighting," Karol commented cynically.
"So you found demons on the other side?" Ryan asked, momentarily putting aside the chaos Helen was causing.
Mirian quickly approached and hugged Ryan by the arm, pressing her body against his in a possessive manner.
"Yes, we found a base full of Principalities and Legions, but we killed them all. They were very weak."
Ryan listened to the report and nodded, then directed his gaze at Helen.
"I see. Since there was a base after all, I imagine you discovered something by interrogating them, right?"
"Eh? Interrogating them?" Helen looked away.
"We wanted to leave one alive to interrogate them about their plans," Karol interjected with an accusing tone.
"But Helen doesn’t know the meaning of holding back when she has an enemy in front of her."
"Hey, don’t say that to her!"
"Well, I didn’t expect you to discover anything. Even if you interrogated them, they probably wouldn’t say anything."
"Right? That’s what I thought, so I killed them."
"Yeah, right..." Mirian questioned.
"What are you hinting at, Mirian?"
"Nothing, nothing. By the way, Ryan, Karol leveled up."
"Really? I suppose that’s very good for us."
Complaints continued coming from the ground, where the elven women and beastkin women tried to get up with difficulty.
Ryan began to use his recovery skill on all the warriors who were wounded or unconscious on the ground.
The women were immediately healed by Ryan’s magic, but they backed away with some fear upon seeing Helen.
’Tsk, the headache is coming back...’
"I think we can leave this here for today," Ryan said, addressing his assistant Alicia.
His tone of voice sounded somewhat tired, reflecting the pain he still felt in his head.
However, Ryan made an effort not to let it show.
Or at least that’s what he thought while trying to maintain a firm and authoritative posture.
"Ryan, is something wrong with you?" Mirian asked with an expression of concern.
She didn’t let go of his arm.
"No, it’s nothing important, but for now I think I’d better go to sleep for a bit."
"Your Majesty, if I may, would it be possible for them to stay here training?" Alicia asked, pointing to the heroines.
"I believe having direct experience with more powerful warriors will help them a lot."
Ryan looked at all the elves watching him with expectation and hope from a distance.
"If it’s no problem for them, then they can stay," he replied after thinking for a few seconds.
"But you must hold back. If I find out that any of them were seriously injured, there will be a severe punishment for you."
Ryan shot a warning look at Helen and Mirian so they wouldn’t abuse their strength.
"Yes, trust us Ryan, we’ll treat them with great care," Mirian replied with a flirtatious smile.
"Yes, yes, I’ll be like a very patient teacher," Helen added while she put away her sword with a quick movement.
Karol also nodded.
Ryan moved away from them, turning his back to head toward his house in the center of the village.
While walking, Ryan gave one last order to his assistant so she would be ready the following day.
"Alicia, tomorrow... inform me of everything that happens. Do it without holding back."
"Yes, Your Majesty, I will carry out your request to the letter," the young woman responded with a bow.
Then Ryan finally withdrew from the training field.
’I wonder if, somehow, abusing my ability is affecting me?’
He walked along the paths of the village until he reached his personal room; everything was in silence.
But when he reached his room and opened the door, he stopped dead in his tracks from the shock.
The fatigue seemed to vanish for an instant at the image presented before his eyes.
"Y-Your Majesty, you have finally returned..."
Irina was on his bed, waiting for him in a relaxed posture and dressed only in her underwear.
