Chapter 134: Grand Wedding -- II
As Rhain walked out of the courtyard, a breathtaking scene appeared in his line of sight.
Entire Azure Cloud Sect had undergone a large-scale transformation.
Endless streams of bright red silk draped from the eaves of every pavilion and training hall.
Countless glowing essence lanterns floated in the morning air, casting a warm, auspicious light across the mountain.
Every single stone pathway, stretching from his courtyard all the way down to the massive main gates of the sect, was densely carpeted with millions of fresh, fragrant flowers.
Not a single patch of bare grey stone was visible.
Lining up neatly from the gate were all the members of the Azure Cloud Sect.
From the youngest outer disciples to the most senior inner disciples, everyone stood perfectly straight, dressed in pristine, newly tailored ceremonial robes.
Victor and Bria, who had been secretly sent away to a hidden location to during the recent crisis, were also called back and were currently present at the scene.
Torin, Maren, Silas, and Amos stood at the forefront, their faces plastered with warm, joyous smiles.
But the crowd did not end with the Azure Cloud Sect.
Beyond the disciples stood a staggering, sea-like gathering of experts.
Almost the entire Outer Frontier had been invited.
Rhain could see many familiar faces—the clan patriarchs, wealthy merchants, and mercenary leaders who had attended his Supreme Elder ceremony just weeks prior.
But this time, the crowd was easily ten times larger.
Even those who had previously mocked the Azure Cloud Sect, or those who had deliberately chosen not to attend his last ceremony, were now present, standing with utmost humility.
All of them had rushed over today with the most precious gifts they could muster.
They had to come.
News of the Ashvele Clan’s total annihilation had reached to every ear of the Outer Frontier.
Although the exact details of the massacre were shrouded in mystery, and they didn’t know exactly how much of it was Azure Cloud Sect’s doing, they knew one irrefutable truth.
Azure Cloud Sect’s biggest enemy was already dead.
More importantly, they knew that the Supreme Elder getting married today possessed the monstrous strength to kill a Core Formation Realm expert!
In front of such a supreme existence, no one dared to show the slightest neglect.
Sweeping his gaze across the sea of guests, Rhain spotted two figures standing shoulder to shoulder in the crowd. Declan and Fenwick.
The two old friends had finally met after long years of waiting, and they were currently smiling together
Both of them bowed deeply as Rhain’s gaze swept past them with immense gratitude.
At the center of the floral path, waiting patiently, was a majestic steed.
It was a towering, snow-white horse.
its mane braided with crimson ribbons and golden bells that rang softly with every shift of its powerful legs. Its saddle was draped in embroidered red silk, and its bridle gleamed with polished jade.
Rhain walked on the flower-strewn ground, and effortlessly swung himself onto the ornate saddle.
The golden bells on its bridle sang out a clear, melodious tone as the stallion lifted its proud head.
The moment he sat, the procession began to take shape.
Harmon stepped to the right side of the steed.
With a bright, joyous smile that completely erased the wrinkles on his aged face, Harmon personally took hold of the reins.
For a Sect Master to act as a mere groom leading a horse was a supreme lowering of status—an act that would normally invite endless mockery.
But Harmon did it pridefully, treating it as the honor of his life.
Simultaneously, a massive shadow fell over the left side of the horse.
Vulcan stepped up on his left, ensuring the massive crowd maintained a perfectly respectful distance from his Master.
"Let the procession begin!" Torin roared, his voice amplified by Spirit Manifestation essence carried it across the mountain, and the town below.
DONG! DONG! DONG!
Deafening beats of drums and the joyous ringing of golden gongs instantly exploded across the mountain.
It announced the start of the grandest event in the region’s history.
Rhain rode at the forefront, leading the massive procession.
Behind Rhain, the entire Azure Cloud Sect marched in perfect unison.
And trailing behind them was an endless, sprawling line of guests from across the entire Outer Frontier.
The procession slowly wound its way down the mountain path, heading straight toward the Graves family.
Soon, they had left the region of their sect, and entered Greymist Town.
As Rhain looked around from atop his steed, even his usually calm eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.
Entire town had been totally overturned.
It wasn’t just the Azure Cloud Sect; every single street, tavern, and building in Greymist Town was heavily decorated.
Rivers of red silk cascaded from the rooftops of the pavilions. Banners of gold and crimson fluttered in the morning wind.
Every single dwellings was draped in vibrant red silk and glowing essence lanterns.
Auspicious banners hung from the windows of every tavern and shop along the main road.
Ctizens of Greymist Town—both mortals and cultivators alike—had poured out of their homes.
Men, women, children, and elderly lined both sides of the broad avenue, pressing against the edges of the road to watch the procession pass with unblinking gazes.
Mothers hoisted small children onto their shoulders.
Shopkeepers had abandoned their stalls entirely.
Even the town’s stray dogs seemed to sense the occasion, sitting obediently at the roadside.
Never in the long history of Greymist Town had there ever been a wedding so unimaginably grand.
It was unknown just how many millions of Aetherium Crystals the Azure Cloud Sect and the Graves family had poured into this single day.
As Rhain rode past, sitting tall and incredibly dignified in his red and gold ceremonial robes, the crowd couldn’t help but erupt into murmurs.
"Look! Look at him!" a young woman gasped, her hands pressed against her flushed cheeks as the white stallion passed. "He is even more handsome up close than the rumors say!"
"Is that truly the Supreme Elder of the Azure Cloud Sect?" an old man murmured, "He looks so young. Just a boy, really. And yet they say he can kill Core Formation experts..."
"My grandmother told me she has lived in Greymist Town for seventy-eight years," a middle-aged merchant whispered to his neighbor, "and she has never, not once, seen a wedding procession even half this grand."
"There will never be another like it," the neighbor replied, shaking his head in awe. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. Our grandchildren will tell stories about this day."
The grand procession marched slowly through the streets of Greymist Town.
Deafening beats of the drums and gongs rang incessantly, announcing their arrival to every corner of the region.
After more than an hour, eventually, the sprawling estate of the Graves family appeared on the horizon.
But even before they had reached the main gates of the family, the sheer extravagance of their preparations was glaringly visible.
Rivers of bright red silk cascaded from the towering walls and the surrounding pavilions.
Countless golden banners fluttered in the evening breeze, and glowing essence lanterns hovered uniformly along the pathways, matching the Azure Cloud Sect’s decorations flawlessly.
Golden characters spelling "Eternal Joy" and "Heavenly Union" were painted on massive silk scrolls that hung from the gate pillars.
Lining both sides of the grand avenue leading up to the estate gates were rows upon rows of handsome young men and beautiful women.
All of them were holding baskets filled to the brim with exotic flowers.
The moment the towering snow-white stallion came into view, the crowd moved in perfect unison.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Thousands of vibrant, fragrant petals were tossed high into the air.
They rained down upon Rhain and the massive procession trailing behind him, like the dream-like shower of falling blossoms.
"Our Graves family welcome the Groom!"
"Blessings upon the union!"
"Ten thousand years of happiness!"
The handsome men and beautiful women called out unitedly.
At the main gates of the Graves family, a group of imposing figures stood waiting.
Dorris, Roderick, and Kory.
The three Spirit Manifestation Realm pillars of the Graves family stood proudly, their faces beaming with irrepressible joy.
It was definitely a matter of pride for their family that Rhain had come to their family to take his bride.
Behind them stood the rest of the high-ranking elders and core members of the family, all dressed in their most luxurious attires.
As the massive procession came to a halt, Dorris, Roderick, and Kory stepped forward to welcome their guests.
Smiles were plastered all over their faces as they watched Rhain and Harmon approach.
"Oh, our groom have finally arrived." Dorris heartily laughed as he stepped forward to greet Rhain. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Rhain got off the horse, stood up, and politely bowed his head to the three men showing the proper etiquette of a junior on his wedding day.
With an elegant expression and a light grace, he spoke, "Family Head Dorris, Senior Kory, Elder Roderick. I have come to take my bride."
"Hahahaha!" Roderick opened his mouth and laughed heartily. He reached out a hand and pointed toward the rear of the courtyard. "Your bride is resting right inside that palanquin over there. You can take her...."
Roderick paused, his grin stretching wider.
"...if you can."
Rhain’s dark grey eyes narrowed slightly.
’If I can?’
He caught that heavily emphasized word instantly.
’Is someone actually going to try and stop me?’ Rhain wondered inwardly.
With his current strength, even if the entire Greymist Town stood in his way, he could sweep past them to take his bride away.
Beside him, Harmon glared at Dorris with a look that clearly questioned: How dare you play this kind of move on him?
"Customs cannot be broken, old friend," Dorris simply spread his hands with an innocent shrug.
