ROAR—!

A dragon’s roar that seemed to shake the space erupted from Baxia.

Overwhelming laws of water vapor and raw strength tore violently through the surrounding starry sky.

From Baxia’s left and right sides, two pillars of water formed and surged straight toward the Eighth Pharaoh.

The water pillars twisted into dragons of uncanny realism—slender-bodied, each bearing five sharp, clawed limbs.

They bore little resemblance to the dragons native to Magus World. Instead, they closely matched the “true dragons” of the Immortal Realm.[1]

At the same time, Baxia’s massive dragon paw came crashing down, radiating the terrifying law of strength.

Sein had long been curious about where Tourmaline inherited her strength law and where she had learned her distinctive attack style.

It turned out that the young turtle had mimicked her father.

The way Tourmaline had once brought her dragon paw crashing down on the planar battlefield was exactly like Baxia.

It was a straightforward attack, yet the strength law it carried was powerful enough to make the surrounding starry sky tremble.

Among the countless laws recorded in Magus World, the strength law was one of the most difficult to wield and refine.

Yet those who truly mastered it were universally recognized as terrifying powerhouses among their peers.

Proving the way through might—that was how the Immortal Realm described practitioners of this path.

On this overlord battlefield, Baxia’s role was clear: he was a living mountain of flesh, an impenetrable wall.

Attacks from the Eighth Pharaoh of the Amenkha Empire could easily shatter the defenses of Rank Seven beings like Jormungandr and Kassedar, and even deal serious damage to the Fire Phoenix and the Dark Knight.

But when those same attacks struck Baxia, they were brutally repelled by his impossibly hard turtle shell and overwhelmingly robust physique.

Under the influence of the special laws imbued within Baxia’s shell, nearly a third of the Eighth Pharaoh’s power was reflected back at him!

Of course, the Pharaoh’s assaults were not entirely ineffective.

Each thunderous punch and claw strike made Baxia’s eyes narrow slightly beneath his ancient, rugged scales. A muffled grunt also escaped his maw.

The blows landed hard. Baxia absorbed them all with his powerful body.

Yet no matter how fierce the assault, the result remained unchanged.

Baxia stood firm against the Eighth Pharaoh’s onslaught, creating the most favorable conditions possible for Zenasus, Clair, and Bev to cast their spells!

This was a battle of many against one.

No matter how formidable the Eighth Pharaoh was, he was outnumbered.

As a result, the force ultimately bearing down on Baxia was not overwhelming. Kassedar, Aeberton, the Fire Phoenix, Jormungandr, and even Klopp all shared the burden.

On this stellar battlefield, the Magus Civilization’s primary attackers included not only the Rank Eight Dark Knight armed with the Dark Blade, but also Bev, who wielded a pristine white magic staff.

Although Bev was only a peak Rank Seven soul overmage, the threat she posed to the Eighth Pharaoh surpassed even that of the Fire Phoenix, who possessed true Rank Eight strength.

Her arsenal was vast and formidable, including the lumen elemental law and magic that were most effective against the Pharaohs of the Amenkha Empire.

Bev did not immediately deploy her civilizational treasure, the Light of Wisdom. Everyone liked to keep a few cards up their sleeve, and Bev naturally reserved hers for unforeseen contingencies.

She was not entirely certain the Amenkha Empire would simply stand by and allow a Rank Eight overlord to fall.

Although Jehovah Nordin had reported that prophetic forces had been rendered ineffective in this region, there was no telling whether the Amenkha Empire possessed other means of sensing the anomaly unfolding here.

After all, the Amenkha Empire’s Second Pharaoh was known to possess divination and prophetic abilities far exceeding those of Jehovah Nordin, the Rank Seven soul overmage.

Beyond withholding the Light of Wisdom, Bev also refrained from deploying the Twelve-Winged Elemental Archangel she had summoned during the latter stages of the Netherworld Star Domain War.

That fused Twelve-Winged Elemental Archangel possessed short-term combat power rivaling that of a Rank Seven overlord.

Even so, Bev had no intention of activating the world-class necklace hanging around her neck.

The magic staff in her hand was already capable of unleashing overwhelmingly potent lumen elemental magic in every direction at a moment’s notice.

Bev nearly flooded the surrounding space with light.

Was she, too, attempting to reach Rank Eight through this battle?

Hela, who had gradually been pushed to the periphery of the battlefield after Bev and the others arrived, was nonetheless stirred by the intensity of this melee.

The Eighth Pharaoh was probably an early to mid-stage Rank Eight overlord.

After breaking his self-imposed seal, his power could surge briefly into the mid to late stage of Rank Eight.

A coordinated assault against an overlord of such rank was a spectacle that might not occur once in tens of thousands—perhaps even hundreds of thousands—of years.

After warming up, Hela ignored her aunt’s instruction to focus on the half-dead Evileye Tyrant Monarch.

Instead, she slapped the scales of the World Serpent beneath her feet and charged once more toward the Eighth Pharaoh.

The Magus Civilization’s currently deployed overlord-level forces included the Dark Knight, the Fire Phoenix, Bev, Hela, Baxia, Kassedar, Zenasus, Clair, Jormungandr, and Klopp—ten overlords in total.

With the Rank Seven astrologer, Jehovah Nordin, hiding in the surrounding space and disrupting nearby star domains with his unique powers, the total rose to eleven!

Outnumbered eleven to one, the Eighth Pharaoh found himself suppressed, despite his overwhelming strength.

The Rank Seven Evileye Tyrant Monarch, originally meant to serve as a vassal to ease some of the pressure on the Eighth Pharaoh, had long since been rendered useless.

Blood essence and gray mucus seeped from its massive, ruptured eyeball as it cowered at the edge of the battlefield, watching the absurdly chaotic clash of overlords unfold before it.

It had once taken pride in being a double agent.

It even believed it could influence the course of war between these three top-tier civilizations—and even shape their fates.

It thought itself the most dazzling trendsetter of this Clash of Civilizations, but reality proved otherwise.

To these supreme civilizations, it was just an insignificant creature!

The Magus Civilization had easily mobilized ten overlords to gang up on the Eighth Pharaoh.

Although the Eighth Pharaoh had effectively been dragged into this disaster by the Evileye Tyrant Monarch, the creature felt not the slightest trace of guilt.

From the moment the Eighth Pharaoh attacked it, the Evileye Tyrant Monarch realized that it would never stand as an equal among these beings from top-tier civilizations.

At best, it could serve as a disposable servant.

At worst, it would be cast aside like trash, forgotten entirely!
