Chapter 1750: Mechanical Space

The fierce battle dragged on for months.

During this time, Sein personally joined the fray. This time, he did not rely heavily on the Faceless Mask. Instead, he treated the Magic Cube as his primary equipment.

A faint red, grid-like energy fortress formed around him. This was the protection granted to him by the cube during combat.

This energy barrier bore a striking resemblance to the defensive structures found within the ruins of the Eiyurant Papillon Civilization.

The crimson hue came from Sein deeply infusing the Magic Cube with his pyro elemental energy.

Beyond this protective shield, the cube also provided combat support through attacks such as energy beams, macro-light strikes, and localized spatial collapses.

This was the benefit of absorbing vast quantities of origin laws contained in technological secret treasures. Still, these newly gained functions over the years represented only a small fraction of the cube’s full potential.

That said, due to Sein’s preferences and the finite power contained within the Magic Cube, he had chosen to intensively refine only a handful of functions he considered the most promising.

Aside from producing Energy Amethysts and awakening robots, one of Sein’s most impressive recent breakthroughs with the Magic Cube was a new ability that was neither purely offensive nor defensive. He called it Mechanical Space.

On this battlefield scorched by searing flames, Sein extended one hand forward. The dazzling Magic Cube in his grasp radiated ethereal blue starlight.

The cube suddenly dispersed into countless smaller cubes.

Each tiny cube shone like a star, while at the very center of the formation, a nebula-like core appeared to take shape.

Disrupted by the unique law emanating from the Magic Cube before Sein, the newly located angel robots all began flying toward him.

Sein had rejected his grandmaster’s original arrangement and insisted on coming to this difficult battlefield largely because of these angel robots.

Originally numbering close to one million, these angel robots had been reduced to fewer than eight hundred thousand over months of brutal, chaotic fighting, friendly fire, and other factors.

Moreover, many of the angel robots were damaged or incomplete. Not all of them had been fully awakened by the Magic Cube.

To their credit, the Gallant Federation demonstrated strong emergency response capabilities, rapidly implementing countermeasures against Sein’s tactics.

For example, the Magic Cube now required significantly more time and energy to breach the internal firewalls of these robots.

Furthermore, the Awakening Light’s reach had been limited, likely due to the sheer number of robots present. At present, Sein could only maintain control over them through the cube’s power, barely keeping them in check.

Fermera spread her wings and hovered tall in the sky, not far from Sein.

A small number of angel robots, those whom Sein had recruited back at the Steel Ruins, watched the scene with concern.

To those angel robots, the more than eight hundred thousand angels before them were their future comrades.

Until the manufacturing techniques for their specific models were fully mastered, these robots understood that their kind was difficult to replace and nearly impossible to reproduce in large numbers.

Sein noticed the focused gazes of Fermera and the other angel robots. Despite his terrifying demonic visage, a faint smile crossed his face as he assured them, “Don’t worry. I’ll seal these angels within the cube. After refining and repairing them for a time, they should be fully operational again before long.” 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

As he said that, hundreds of thousands of angel robots surged toward the Magic Cube hovering before him.

It was astonishing how such a tiny cube could store so many angels within it.

As the angel robots drew closer, their forms rapidly shrank until they were no larger than grains of rice.

From the perspective of laws and truth, this was an ingenious application of spatial force.

This was also the first time Sein had witnessed a spatial living device capable of easily accommodating over eight hundred thousand angel robots in action.

The Magic Cube was only able to accomplish such a feat after absorbing vast quantities of technological laws from the Eiyurant Papillon Civilization and undergoing three successive upgrades.

While gathering the angel robots into the cube, Sein also “accidentally” captured several other ordinary Gallant Federation robots.

Sein held no particular preference when it came to a robot’s appearance.

After all, these machines would gradually replace most of his enslaved creatures and eventually become the primary cannon fodder of the future Divine Tower of Ashes Army.

This was an unexpected benefit he had gained over the course of fighting the Gallant Federation.

If Sein ever found himself short on cannon fodder, he could simply raid one of the Gallant Federation’s robot storage facilities.

During this war, Sein had attempted to use the Magic Cube to seize control of federal mobile suits, battleships, and other large-scale technological creations.

Unfortunately, the results were far from ideal.

While the cube could interfere with such constructs, awakening giant mobile suits or battleships and bending them fully to Sein’s will was, for now, still far-fetched.

After all, mobile suits, battleships, and robots were distinct technological products within the Gallant Federation, much like knights, mages, and magic beasts within Magus World.

Even so, Sein held immense expectations for his ever-evolving Magic Cube.

Though the cube currently lacked the ability to awaken technological products beyond robots, who could say what the future might bring?

It was precisely this uncertainty of tomorrow that fueled the drive to keep moving forward.

As Sein finished packing away the eight hundred thousand robots, the fighting across this vast base gradually drew to a close.

Beyond the horizon, explosions continued as distant battles raged on.

This subspace battlefield was far too vast for a small group like Sein’s to handle alone.

After notifying his combat legions and the familiar Magus Alliance powerhouses nearby to quickly clean up the battlefield, Sein turned his gaze toward the horizon.

He decided to halt his independent operations and instead follow the directives of Grandmaster Feylis and the others, joining the ongoing pursuit of the Gallant Federation legions.

“I have achieved my personal objectives on this subspace battlefield. It’s time for me to continue contributing to the broader strategic goals of the Magus Civilization,” Sein said to those around him, unconcerned with whether they fully understood his words.

With that, he put away the Magic Cube and placed the Faceless Mask over his face.
