SS Awakening: My Monster Merging System!
Chapter 53: A Commander Rank Summon
When Zich saw the Commander rank properly for the first time, his throat moved slightly.
A strange look crossed his face afterward.
’No wonder that aura almost shook the entire shelter.’
Inside the Ascension Mountain, summons followed a ranking structure similar to hunters and beasts. Normal ranks stood at the bottom, followed by Elite, and above that came Commander ranks, creatures powerful enough to dominate battlefields and overwhelm groups through sheer presence alone.
Commanders were not simply stronger; they carried authority.
Even among monsters, creatures at that level naturally suppressed weaker beings around them, and many parties inside Layer One would spend months preparing just to survive encounters against something carrying that title.
Yet now...
One stood inside his graveyard. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Zich slowly looked back up toward the massive bone dragon again.
The pale golden glow burning inside its hollow eye sockets remained fixed on him calmly, and although the creature had not moved aggressively even once since appearing, the pressure leaking from its body alone still bent nearby grass flat against the ground.
"Ridiculous," he muttered quietly.
His gaze shifted back toward the system panel floating above the dragon.
The incomplete description finally expanded fully before him.
[Description: A supreme undead sovereign created through the fusion of dragon remains, elite monsters, failures, and death energy. A Commander-rank dragon that grows stronger through slaughter and grave accumulation.]
Below that, several glowing skills appeared one after another.
[CROWN OF THE DEAD]
Every grave added to the host’s graveyard permanently increases Solenne’s stats. The more enemies buried, the stronger she becomes.
The second skill appeared beneath it immediately afterward.
[CHAIN SOVEREIGN]
Launches up to 12 chain-dragons simultaneously at separate targets. Each chain wraps around its target and drags them forcefully back toward Solenne.
Zich slowly looked toward the twelve skeletal dragons attached to the chains extending from her spine.
So those things were not decorations.
A faint grin slowly appeared on his face.
Dragging enemies directly toward a Commander-rank undead dragon sounded less like combat and more like organized slaughter.
The third skill appeared next.
[DEATH FIELD]
Expands a silent dome outward from the bone dragon’s position. Inside the dome, healing is suppressed, mana regeneration stops, and all damage taken is doubled.
Zich blinked once after reading it.
The skill sounded absurd.
Inside the Ascension Mountain, survival often depended on recovery skills, healing potions, and mana regeneration during prolonged fights, but this skill directly shut all of that down while increasing incoming damage simultaneously.
A weaker party caught inside something like that would collapse almost immediately.
Even stronger players would panic.
Finally, the last skill revealed itself.
[LAST EDICT]
Once per battle, Solenne releases a sovereign decree that forces a single notification into every enemy mind within 50 meters.
[Mortality confirmed.]
Causes mass panic, broken formations, and shattered focus in all enemies weaker than the dragon.
Several seconds passed quietly afterward.
Zich stared at the screen without blinking.
Eventually—
He started laughing. Not politely. Not quietly either, but like a maniac drunk on power.
"Hah... hahahaha...!"
The sound echoed strangely across the graveyard while cold rain continued falling around him, and the more he imagined using this dragon in actual combat, the harder it became to suppress his excitement.
This thing was insane.
A Commander-rank dragon with battlefield suppression, crowd control, permanent growth, and fear-based mental attacks, all while being undead and impossible to permanently kill unless he himself died first.
What kind of absurd combination was this?
Zich pressed one hand against his forehead while laughing again.
"If I release this thing inside a dungeon..." he muttered between breaths, "people would probably start praying."
His thoughts immediately began spiraling toward possibilities afterward.
Large guild raids.
Monster waves.
Territorial fights between shelters.
Even Layer Two players would lose their minds trying to rent something like this.
And if this dragon continued growing stronger with every grave added...
Zich’s grin widened visibly.
’This thing can scale forever.’
That realization alone was terrifying.
Normal summons eventually reached limits.
Equipment upgrades slowed.
Stats plateaued.
But this dragon became stronger through death itself.
The more enemies he killed, the stronger it became.
The stronger it became, the easier killing became afterward.
A ridiculous cycle.
He laughed one last time before finally calming himself slightly.
Only afterward did his eyes move lower toward the summoning requirements section.
The moment he read the mana cost, his expression stiffened slightly.
[Summoning Cost: 80 Mana]
[Maintenance Cost: 10 Mana per second]
Zich stared at the numbers for several long seconds.
Normal-rank summons only consumed two mana per second while active, and even that already forced him to manage his resources carefully during prolonged fights.
This dragon consumed five times more.
"Commander rank indeed," he muttered while clicking his tongue softly.
Still...
Despite the absurd mana cost, he could not stop staring at the dragon standing before him.
Slowly, he looked back toward the system panel again.
[Supreme Bone Dragon]
"Tiamant," Zich suddenly said quietly.
The dragon’s glowing eyes shifted toward him fully afterward.
"You already had a name before death," he added while folding his arms loosely. "I’ll keep it."
The moment the words left his mouth, the graveyard reacted subtly.
The chains extending from the dragon’s back rattled softly.
KRRRRK...
A faint pulse spread through the graveyard floor immediately afterward, and several nearby tombstones trembled slightly before settling again.
[Tiamant acknowledged.]
Zich raised one eyebrow after seeing the notification.
The dragon slowly lowered its enormous skeletal head afterward.
Its movements remained heavy and calm despite its massive size, and when the Commander-rank undead finally bowed fully before him, even Zich felt his heartbeat quicken slightly.
The pressure radiating from the dragon did not weaken.
If anything, it became more oppressive now that the creature recognized him completely as its master.
Twelve skeletal chain-dragons lowered themselves as well.
Rows of graves surrounded them quietly, and cold rain continued falling gently.
Standing there before the bowed dragon sovereign, Zich slowly exhaled while staring at the creature now under his control.
With this thing beside him...
He truly felt unstoppable.
