SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 196: Zisel’s Fight (I)
It was White who was running a couple of steps behind her, but saying he was running wasn’t exactly correct.
She watched as he pulled off the cap on a bottle of juice, downing it as he ran, without it shaking out of his hands at all, then pulled open another snack and stuffed his mouth.
’Tsk,’
She clicked her tongue, her purple eyes flaring more and sending her faster into the distance, but no matter how hard she tried, White was always just half a meter behind.
She never lost him, not even for half a meter more, no matter how hard she tried.
Eventually, she was forced to acknowledge it as she came to a stop, exhaling slightly.
"Wow. That was very fast."
She said, as a satisfied exhale left White’s lips, feeling his stomach fill once more from the eating.
"That’s fast?"
He asked, and she nodded.
"You know I have wings, right?"
He asked further, and she froze.
Of course, he had wings.
So, wait... this was his basic leg speed.
What if he drew out his wings? How fast would he be then?
"Monster..."
She mused beneath her breath.
"Anyway, what are we doing here?"
White asked, looking around him.
It was a bit of a dark alleyway, surrounded by more normal buildings.
Basically, like a slum in a megacity.
"This is my hunting ground. There are several Supernatural creatures lurking in the darkness."
She said, her aura switching to one of caution, and White watched a gleam of purple flash in her palm, taking the shape of a battle knife.
"You mean 6."
White said, and Zisel turned to him, only to find him looking up at the corner of a balcony.
There was a wall instead of railings blocking the sight, but seeing White’s eyes set on it,
She raced forward in that moment, climbing up rapidly before jumping high above the railings.
SCREEEECH!
A powerful screech as a snake-like creature lunged after her furiously in the air.
She jerked down with her knife, piercing into its head.
SCREEEEECH!
It made a powerful screeching noise, flinging its head roughly, and Zisel was flung down.
White watched her crashing, with absolutely zero intent of helping her cushion the fall, but then his right hand jerked to the side, grabbing her by the arm and stopping her in place.
"Thank you."
"You’re welcome. Now... It’s coming."
White said as the snake sped forward.
Zisel blurred forward once more, flashing here and there as the snake chased her everywhere.
White stood behind, having found a bench by the corner and sipping a drink whilst watching the fight.
It took only a couple of moments of watching for him to figure out what type of fighter Zisel was.
She was the run-and-defense type.
That he could tell as she ran around the walls, attacking the snake from angles.
She also didn’t try to kill it with a single attack, instead delivering tiny attacks and multiplying its injuries while making sure she herself didn’t get hit at all.
It worked eventually... after 7 minutes, as the creature finally collapsed from all the accumulated injuries, and Zisel flashed, severing its head off with a single strike.
But to sever the snake’s head off, she used a move this time.
There was a larger blade-like phantom that flashed as she cleaved forward with her knife, big enough to slice the beast in two.
"Huuuuuu,"
Zisel exhaled at once, calming her exhaustion, before turning back to White, finding two empty bottles on the ground as he sat on the bench.
"You don’t look that impressed."
She said, and White chuckled before turning his eyes up.
She followed his gaze, and there, on the window, there was a dark claw and a face hidden by darkness.
Immediately, she flashed forward towards the window, but all it did was make White clap his forehead.
Zisel followed the Supernatural creature into the darkness of the room, but 7 seconds had yet to pass when she was brutally flung out of the building, slamming into the wall and falling.
White felt the instinct in his hands to help, and he rolled his eyes before grabbing onto the arm of a nearby structure and throwing it forward.
Zisel’s face slammed into something hard, but not as hard as the ground, and she rose back up.
AHHHHHHH!
There was a terrifyingly shrill scream that sent shockwaves blasting forward as the creature jumped down to the ground, blowing the crouching Zisel away.
Once more, White reached his hand out, grabbing her before she could be flung farther, until she stabilized.
Zisel’s eyes narrowed in more focus as she looked at the creature before her.
It was a human-like creature, short, around 1 meter, dressed in a scanty brown dress.
There was long, thick, dark hair that covered her face, trailing down on the ground, and one could barely see the white eyes that looked out from the covering of her hair.
"A banshee!?"
This was a rare grade of Supernatural creature, one that could even be ranked as a Deltadoid creature.
"It’s a lower-ranked one, actually..."
White commented from the side.
"If it were the adult, your brains would have been blown out by her first scream."
He said, picking his teeth with a metal iron.
It only annoyed Zisel.
She had almost died, and he was here, sitting so leisurely.
"Are you gonna help out at all? I thought that was why you asked me to follow you?"
She asked, and White hummed leisurely before asking,
"How about using that ultimate attack of yours first? That phantom blade attack."
White asked. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"That’s my ultimate attack. I keep it for last."
She answered.
"Well, the only person that does good for is the banshee. Because she won’t allow you to get close to her to accumulate tiny blows on her."
White said, stretching his neck out, and Zisel turned, finding the banshee having suddenly appeared meters away from her.
Its mouth parted open, and then,
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
