SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows
Chapter 317: Kill her
Lucy stared at the maid, the flow of time seemed to stop, and the tension between them continued to build, and at any moment it could escalate to them trying to kill themselves right there.
The door to the throne room suddenly opened and Geisha walked out, a smile on his face the moment he saw Lucy. "The fallen angel, I see you are still bothered by the fact that a demon is here and alive," Geisha said.
"A demon should not be left on this side of the domain, I will not allow him to open the gates to the abyss, you of all people should know what that would do," Lucy said. She knew Geisha long before now, most gods even knew him, he was that big of a problem.
"Well, sadly I do not care about all of that, you come to me like someone that cares about the well-being of humanity, when in contrast I hate them.
I will be releasing the demon, and he can do whatever he wants, how he wants, if your group wants to stop him, then be my guest," Geisha said.
Her brows furrowed in anger, her finger twitched and in the next moment she lunged at Geisha, thrusting her hands for his neck, only for the maid to grab the hand and proceed to pull her aside and spin kick her right in the chest. Lucy was thrown through the air like a sack of potatoes and slammed hard into the wall, leaving a massive crack in it.
The maid followed with another kick, Lucy pulled her head to the side at the last moment and the feet slammed into the ground and caused a deeper crack, while the maid stared right at her.
Lucy pushed herself off the wall while swinging a punch at the very same time. The maid blocked and was pushed back a few steps, she looked up and Lucy had already summoned her spear, so in response she lifted her gown and pulled two daggers at the side of her waist.
She planted her feet and shot forward, both daggers gripped in reverse and her eyes locked on an opening. Lucy was also ready, she spun the spear and then made a swiping attack, the maid dodged, skidding under the attack clean and pushing to her feet, she looked to attack again, swinging both her daggers at the same time. Lucy pulled her head back and evaded the attack, finding the opportunity to land a blow from there with the reach of her spear, she swung it and it slammed into the side of the maid, throwing her through the air as she slammed into a wall hard.
The two got back into their stance and then got ready for another round, but this time they were ready to use their true strength.
"As much as I would love to watch you two fight it out here to the death, I will have to stop this," Geisha’s voice cut through the tension, he looked at Lucy. "You have been taught to hate demons by the same people that cast you out.
There is no right side to this battle, there is only your side, so when you chase after the demon, ensure that you do so not out of the teachings you got, but for your own reason." He said something meaningful before his eyes shifted into a dark, sinister look.
"Or be like me and simply do it for the fun," he let out a smile.
"Tch, I would never be a monster like you," she replied in anger and then turned away and walked off.
"What do you plan to do with her?" the maid asked.
"Kill her, nothing else, the fallen angel is special, but for her the only special thing is when I consume her and take all her strength," Geisha said and walked back to the throne room, he stopped as the doors opened and then looked at the maid.
"Release that demon."
Aren was standing by his window while everyone else was in the room, the mask was still on his face.
"So what do you want to do now?" Aiden asked.
Aren looked out the window, he drew a deep breath and then looked back at them. "We keep going, we have come too far to stop, no matter how hard it gets.
But before anything else, we have one important thing to do when we get out of there, and that is stop whatever this abyss gate is. There are far too many troubles to handle now, and I have a feeling that somehow Geisha is going to trigger it.
After all, it is the destruction of humanity, exactly what he wants. He tried to scare me into worrying too much, but I realized something when my head was clear, he gets stronger by consuming, so what better time to consume if not a time where humanity is at war with the abyss and cannot afford to stop him," Aren explained.
He leaned back, his body outside the window. "He would have eaten me if he could, but he has not yet, which means either he is waiting for me to be strong enough or he has not prepared the things he needs for me specifically.
That gives us some time to work things out, and the first thing is getting out of here and I have a plan for that, but that might involve me fighting Geisha, I have a means that might make me capable of hurting him and he cannot kill me because then he would not have my body.
I am going to turn my bad situation into an advantage for me. To do that I will need to ensure that all of you are out of harm’s way and he cannot lay hands on you, I will need to focus," Aren said.
"If you are thinking of shoving me into that space again, I am not going in, sorry to say Aren, but I am fighting from now on and not backing down even against a god or whatever," Aiden made it clear to him immediately.
