Chapter 128: Do it quickly

Thankfully, Aleda had enough modesty to turn around and give Kyle the space to change his clothes.

"Seriously, you could at least give me a warning through the system. What if I had been in the bathroom?"

Aleda chuckled lightly. "I willingly waited until you stripped."

"..." That somehow made it worse than being summoned randomly.

Shaking his head, Kyle let out a small breath. "Well, I guess you’re here to teach me something today?"

Aleda crossed her arms, her gaze drifting over him as she silently looked him up and down.

"Hmm, your magic control has improved, it seems." Unlike before, far fewer fragments of Genesis leaked from his body.

Kyle shrugged casually. "I didn’t do much, just kept training."

Aleda continued to observe him closely, her eyes narrowing slightly before she asked, "Have you been pushing your conscious magical self a lot these days? I can tell your Golden Limb has grown weaker."

"...What?" Kyle frowned, confusion flickering across his face. "Shouldn’t it have become stronger instead?"

His overall control over Genesis was improving, so why—

Oh.

The realization clicked into place.

It was like relying on support at the gym. Once you grow strong enough to lift comfortably on your own, you no longer need that support.

For some reason, the thought left a faint trace of sadness in him.

"Well, you knew this was coming," Aleda said calmly. "But you won’t be letting go of your Golden Limb completely, so don’t worry."

Kyle glanced at her. "You said you had a method, but you never told me what it was."

Aleda’s lips curled into a small grin. "When the time comes. Not now."

He could tell there was something slightly mischievous behind that smile. Still, since she had already decided to reveal it later, he didn’t push further.

"Now, do you have any questions, or should we begin with the lesson?" the green-haired woman asked, one hand resting on her waist.

Kyle paused for a moment, thinking carefully before he spoke. "I did receive another gift, but I’ve been hesitant to unlock it. Do you think it could disrupt the balance of the world or something like that?"

He had more than enough points to unlock Myuri’s gift, yet he had held back for quite some time now.

Aleda hummed thoughtfully, her expression turning contemplative before she replied, "If she has already sent it to you and it’s locked within the system, then the damage has already been done. There’s no point in overthinking it now."

"..." Oh. So all that worrying had been for nothing, huh?

Alright then. The first thing he would do after returning was explore his new blessing.

"No more questions," he said firmly.

Aleda gave a small nod before snapping her fingers, and in an instant, his vision shifted.

The two of them appeared in a different place... or perhaps not. Darkness still surrounded them on all sides. However, this time, there was a training dummy standing beside Aleda, her elbow casually resting on its shoulder.

"Our goal is to extract the essence of divinity from the target, for certain reasons."

Kyle nodded. He had already heard from the WarHorse that someone he had blessed was now using that gift to disrupt the balance of the world.

And because of that, it had become his responsibility to take that blessing away from them.

"So, the first step to extracting divinity is to incapacitate the person." As she spoke, she kicked the dummy’s feet out from under it, sending the lifeless figure crashing flat onto the ground.

Aleda moved smoothly, mounting it in one swift motion. Her knees pinned down its wrists, completely restraining it and leaving no room for movement.

"Come to the side so you can see better," she urged, gesturing toward the front.

Kyle followed her instruction and stepped closer, positioning himself where he had a clear view.

Aleda raised her hand and snapped her fingers. A red-golden gauntlet materialized over her arm, extending nearly to her elbow.

"This is called the Reaper. You use it to remove the blessing." She flexed her fingers slightly, the gauntlet glinting faintly. "And for this to work, the target must remain completely immobile. If you are interrupted midway, you risk the person’s life."

Kyle took note of that carefully, committing it to memory. Then a question surfaced in his mind. "If the person is misusing the gift, wouldn’t killing them solve the problem?"

He believed that, if someone like Ava has that blessing, shouldn’t she just die and they get done with things?

Aleda nodded. "Yes, it would. But the Genesis core of a dead person can be consumed by someone else. And if that happens, the same blessing could pass on to them."

She let out a quiet sigh before continuing, "Once something is sent to the mortal plane, it rarely disappears completely. It may be hidden, buried, or forgotten... but it cannot truly be destroyed."

Kyle nodded in understanding, carefully absorbing every piece of information she was giving him.

Aleda continued, "Now, once you have completely immobilized the person, you slam the gauntlet onto their chest and let it do its work."

As she spoke, she demonstrated it, bringing her fist down firmly. Almost instantly, four sharp spikes extended from the gauntlet and pierced into the dummy’s chest, sinking a few inches deep into its surface.

"You see this circle?" she said, pointing toward the glowing ring on the side of the gauntlet, which was slowly filling with a crimson radiance.

"Wait until it is completely filled, and then remove the gauntlet slowly."

She paused, allowing the circle to fill entirely. Once it reached its limit, the spikes retracted on their own, pulling out cleanly from the chest.

Aleda stepped off the training dummy and straightened herself before continuing, "Now, when you tap the red circle twice—"

As she spoke, she tapped it twice. When she pulled her hand away, a glowing golden orb rested in her palm.

"This is the extracted divinity."

Kyle marveled at the sight for a few moments, his eyes fixed on the glowing orb, before finally asking, "What am I supposed to do with this? Hide it somewhere?"

Aleda shook her head immediately. "That would be foolish. Without a body to contain it, this thing will continue to radiate an immense amount of Genesis. Sooner or later, someone will sense it. I would strongly advise against that."

"Then... what should I do with it? Swallow it?" he asked, half-jokingly.

"Yes." Aleda nodded, her expression completely serious.

Kyle blinked, caught off guard. "Wait, seriously? I just consume it and gain blessing like that?"

Aleda gave a small shrug. "Isn’t that the most obvious and safest option? You already carry their blessings, which means they trust you. And since you can neither hide it nor destroy it, the best choice is to take responsibility for it by accepting the blessing yourself."

Kyle was taken aback. How could she trust him with a power that was already creating chaos in the world?

Yes, Kyle wasn’t some evil being chasing world domination, but he was still human, and human perception could shift over time.

Aleda placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "Whatever you choose to do with it is up to you. However, make sure you remove the essence from that person as soon as possible. That person... she will cause catastrophic destruction if she continues down that path for long."

"...!" What the fuck?!
