Chapter 31: The Monster In A Maid’s Uniform

Loraine felt her body explode with power...literally. Her entire physique immediately underwent change, her heart started to pump blood at a rapid rate, her pupils which were crimson changed to bright golden hue as they dimmed with a fierce intensity.

Her hair fluttered madly in the vortex of her own power, every inch of her body tensing like a coiled spring as she felt her muscles hardening and growing bigger, her physique rapidly developing to a more athletic build as she felt far more powerful than she ever had before.

’This is insane....’ Loraine thought, her eyes widening as she glanced at her arms in shock, her once slender frame resembling more a toned out athletic build, a great deal of awe plastered all over her features.

"Kill her!" The command echoed through the air, the bandit leader’s voice ringing throughout the alleyway as the group of criminals charged forward, weapons brandished.

"Don’t say I didn’t warn you!"

Loraine said with a grin, a huge wave of confidence washing over her as she dashed forward, her agility far greater than ever before as she immediately appeared in front of the bandit front lines, fists glowing a bright shade of blue as she activated [Magical Grasp], her fist descending with the weight of a meteor.

BOOM!

CRASH!

The impact was louder than any thunder clap, a powerful shockwave that blew everyone back as a few of the bandits were send flying into a wall, their weapons shattering from the sheer wind pressure alone as they were rendered unconscious from the blow.

’....Holy shit...’ Loraine thought, absolutely mesmerized by the sight as she clenched her fist.

Her eyes flicking to her side in an instant as a massive knife was swung at her, her body twisting like a fluid cyclone as she avoided the attack. She countered with a swift punch to his gut, knocking him into his fellow comrades as the body slammed into them with the force of a truck, sending them falling flat over each other as they grunted in pain.

The battle was fierce and violent, the bandits fought with everything they had but even then they couldn’t do anything to her, as every attack was avoided by her lightning-fast agility and earth shattering strikes, the numbers in their forces dwindling rapidly.

"Gaahh!" A bandit coughed as they were hurled across the pavement, the bandit leader watching in horror as each of his men were picked off one by one, by a woman he believed to be a simple maid.

"How...." He muttered as he watched the scene in front of him play out in shock, the pained grunts, the agonizing cries of his comrades reaching his ears as every fist resulted in shockwaves that rivaled the sounds of grenades, their bodies flying around in the air as even though they flanked her from all sides, she was still overwhelming them all effortlessly.

"How is she doing that....was she not a maid? Is she hiding her real class by pretending to be a maid...?" He asked himself, his hands trembling too much to even properly hold his machete, the cheap sword feeling like a weight he didn’t wish to carry anymore.

’Its insane, but I can effortlessly see their movements.’ Loraine thought, dodging two cross slashes from her sides as she elegantly leaped into the air with an acrobatic backflip, landing a few feet away from her foes as her eyes rapidly darted to each of them.

’There’s still a lot of them left,’ She pondered inwardly, side-stepping a flurry of knifes that embedded themselves into the wall behind her, her eyes flicking over to a bandit with knifes in his fingers.

"Not nice," Loraine said playfully, in an almost mocking tone as she waved her hand, activating [Magical Grasp] as the knifes from the wall floated up in the air, spinning themselves around as the began to circle Loraine in a slow circular pattern.

’This world’s difficulty was extreme, I’m gonna have to adapt to these conditions if I wanna survive.’

’These bastards don’t deserve to live.’ She thought, her eyes flickering with killing intent as she fiercely glared at the bandits, the intensity of her stare sending shivers down their spine as they were rendered unable to move.

"You can have these back," She grinned, throwing the daggers back at the bandits as they blasted forward with supersonic speeds, their force and momentum boosted by the effects of [Mystic Amplification], to which this time Loraine wasn’t going to be holding anything back.

The bandits’ eyes widened in fear as they immediately prepared to dodge out of the way, but found themselves unable to move.

A bright glue manifested around their bodies, coiling itself around them like a snake as they couldn’t break free from its grip, Loraine’s [Magical Grasp] coming into play as she met their terrified gazes with a small, but almost sadistic smile.

"Don’t look at me like that, you all tried to kill me first."

The daggers pierced them with the force of a shotgun, stabbing through flesh like butter as it tore through their defenses, the agonizing wails of the bandit leader’s men sending a shiver through his core as his knees buckled, his sword dropping from his hand as he covered his mouth, watching as his comrades were brutally being mutilated.

The blades danced in the air, twirling in the moonlight as drops of blood swirled in the air, before turning around and delivering another fatal strike that tore through their flesh.

The damage counter flashing in Loraine’s [Eyes Of Appraisal], a small smile tugging at her lips as watched the numbers flash in her peripheral vision. She turned around and walked back to Jacob, pulling the young boy into a hug as she shielded his eyes from the horrors happening behind her.

"Look away Jacob, you don’t need to see this." She whispered, getting brushing the boy’s hair with her hand as the bodies of her enemies began to drop like flies behind her, the ground echoing with a thud one by one, until only one person remained standing.

’Oh...him. He didn’t even fight back at all.’ Loraine thought as she glanced back over her shoulder as she watched him tremble uncontrollably, and for some reason unbeknownst to her, it brought her immense joy seeing him like that.

"Why don’t you turn around for me Jacob," Loraine asked, gently pulling Jacob out of her warm embrace as he nodded, turning around as he knew what Loraine was about to do, he had already seen it multiple times before, but the sight still terrified him to this day.

"Now then," She started, rising from the ground as she turned her attention back to the bandit leader, a triumphant smile spreading on her face as she started to walk towards him. "I guess I can’t just finish my work half-way right? After all, a maid must be quick and efficient in her work. Gotta keep everything neat and tidy~"
