Chapter 2050 - 2051: Exposed! (First Update)
On the desolate planet, Ye Qiu walked alone, unable to see the end and unsure how to leave. However, he believed that as long as he kept moving forward, he should be on the right track.
Walking through a region filled with massive rocks, Ye Qiu saw several people sitting there, resting.
These people looked somewhat familiar to Ye Qiu; they had arrived here with him and had left the light shield area earlier than he did.
"Brother, don’t go any further. It’s dangerous up ahead."
One of them called out to Ye Qiu.
Then another person sat up from the rock and said, "We just retreated from up ahead. Let’s wait a bit. When others arrive, we can move forward together, what do you say?"
"Yeah, this place is full of dangers, whether from ancient beasts or humans. If you want to reach the path to the stars, it’s better to group up."
Ye Qiu touched his nose but still refused.
Because he smelled a hint of blood from these people, and combined with their strange aura, Ye Qiu couldn’t determine if they were ancient beasts or humans.
Strange!
Right now, he preferred not to get involved unnecessarily and decided to keep his distance from these peculiar people.
After Ye Qiu left without looking back, the people on the rocks all revealed eerie smiles. Then, they grabbed their own chests with both hands, ripped off their skins, and tore them away.
Revealing their true appearance, Ye Qiu’s instincts were correct. These creatures were neither humans nor ancient beasts but an alien species capable of borrowing human skins to fake an identity.
"This human is quite sharp. It seems he won’t be easy to handle."
"But I like his skin even more. I smell a bit of power on him. I believe his brain must be very delicious."
These alien beings conversed briefly, then burrowed into the ground, disappearing from sight.
Ye Qiu was unaware that the group he just encountered were not humans; he only instinctively felt a sense of danger.
He wouldn’t underestimate his psychological warnings, so he insisted on leaving.
Hmm?
As Ye Qiu continued walking, he suddenly noticed a strong scent of blood wafting from ahead.
He quickly moved forward and found six bloodstains. Squatting down, Ye Qiu examined closely. Apart from bones covered in fresh blood, nothing revealed its original form.
"Is this the danger they were referring to?" The words of the people he met earlier echoed in Ye Qiu’s mind.
However, after carefully observing his surroundings, all he could see on both sides was pitch-black chaos. He couldn’t make out anything, but ahead there was a path, dark yet visible.
Without lingering too long, Ye Qiu continued forward. After about half a stick of incense, he saw a fat man. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
It’s him!
In his mind, Ye Qiu remembered the first man who stepped out of the light shield.
Seemingly aware of movement behind him, the man turned around and was surprised to see Ye Qiu. "Brother, you look familiar."
"Haha, we’ve met before." Ye Qiu smiled, though inwardly he felt speechless, as they had clearly arrived here together. How could he not look familiar?
"Great! I was just attacked and got hurt in the leg. How about we travel together for mutual support?" the man said.
Ye Qiu pondered for a moment and nodded, "Alright."
To be honest, Ye Qiu had a good impression of this man before, although he was a bit overbearing.
Thus, the two traveled together along the path. The man chatted merrily, bringing up numerous topics while Ye Qiu listened quietly, occasionally chiming in.
After walking about four or five hundred meters, a few old trees appeared ahead, bearing lush, vivid red fruits radiating dense spiritual energy.
"Spirit Fruit!"
At a glance, the man became excited and laughed, "Great! With these Spirit Fruits, my injuries will heal quickly."
Saying so, the man immediately ran over, leapt up the tree, picked the Spirit Fruit, and swallowed it in one bite.
After finishing one Spirit Fruit, the man looked at Ye Qiu, who was standing motionless, and asked in surprise, "Why aren’t you eating? There’s enough fruit for both of us."
Ye Qiu smiled and shook his head, saying mildly, "You’ve been acting all the way here. Aren’t you tired? Because I am."
"Brother, what are you talking about? What act?" The man wore a puzzled expression.
Ye Qiu continued, "Are you still pretending? You’re not him at all, so why impersonate him?"
Just then, the man slowly stood straight, and it seemed his leg injury healed instantly as he grinned eerily, "How did you figure it out?"
"This isn’t the first time we’ve met. There were six of you earlier, and then I found six bloodstains on the road with bones and blood, but no flesh. Isn’t that strange?"
"That doesn’t prove anything, right?"
Ye Qiu chuckled, "True, it wasn’t enough to make me suspicious. However, when I found you later, despite your efforts to act like the previous man, your performance betrayed you. Humans are always human. Even wrapped in human skin, you cannot emulate a true human. These five withered trees here are probably fake too. Counting you, it makes six, which leads me to conclude that you are the same people wearing human skins from before. Did I guess right?"
The man listened to Ye Qiu’s explanation and nodded repeatedly, "What rotten luck, running into a clever human like you."
Having said this, he grabbed his face, yanked it, and pulled off the entire skin, revealing its alien form.
Simultaneously, the five withered trees behind it also morphed into alien forms, and the Spirit Fruits on the trees were not Spirit Fruits at all but crimson, blood-dripping hearts.
In fact, there was something Ye Qiu hadn’t mentioned: his main way of seeing through them was his clairvoyance, which revealed their true nature.
Furthermore, the enemy dared to use Illusion Technique on him, a Divine Grade Alchemist could never fall for it. His Soul Power wasn’t so easily fooled.
With the facade gone, the next confrontation was predictable as the six alien creatures all charged at Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu, standing still, his eyes flashing, directly engaged in physical combat.
A moment later, all six aliens lay on the ground, transformed into pools of foul-smelling black blood.
Ye Qiu rubbed his nose. These alien beings were not terrifying in strength, but their disguise ability and Illusion Techniques were daunting, capable of silently ensnaring someone in their trap.
So long as one could discern these two aspects, killing them wasn’t difficult.
It’s fair to say that if these alien creatures hadn’t provoked Ye Qiu, they might have continued their mischief with other targets. But to encounter Ye Qiu, with his bizarrely potent Soul Power and clairvoyant eyes, as well as his vigilance, left them with a miserable fate.
