Chapter 656 - 655: Drawing the Sword to Help
"So it’s Prince Bei!"
The troupe leader immediately went up to flatter him, but Prince Bei shoved him away. The man fell flat on his face.
Prince Bei of the Red Sand Dynasty was none other than Mu Bei. Although his abilities were not much different from Mu Chen Dong’s, their statuses were worlds apart. Mu Chen Dong was the premier talent of Shazhou. Of course, once Mu Keqing grew up, he would no longer hold that title, but he was still one of the top talents of the Divine Domain.
Though Mu Bei was a prince of the Red Sand Dynasty, he was far inferior to Mu Chen Dong. Here in Shazhou, his reputation was abysmal. He was known for abducting common women and other such deeds. There was nothing he wouldn’t dare do.
He looked at the woman who had just been dancing and asked, "What is your name?"
"This humble commoner, Le Yi, greets Prince Bei," the woman quickly replied with deference.
Without a doubt, she was terrified. She knew all about the prince’s licentious reputation. At this, Mu Bei immediately said, "You’re coming with me!"
"Prince Bei, Your Highness is magnanimous, please let Le Yi go! She is not worthy of you!" the troupe leader hurriedly pleaded.
Le Yi also fell to her knees, begging for mercy.
But Mu Bei said coldly, "Of course she’s not worthy of me, but she’ll do as one of my concubines!"
"Prince Bei, I beg you to be magnanimous and let Le Yi go! She is just an ordinary girl, how could she ever be worthy of Your Highness’s notice!" she pleaded, kowtowing rapidly.
The troupe leader also hastily interceded, "Prince Bei, Le Yi can’t go! She’s the mainstay of our troupe. Without her, we’d fall apart."
Becoming impatient, Mu Bei gave his guard a look. The guard immediately strode forward and cleaved the troupe leader in two.
"AHH!"
The crowd screamed and scattered.
"Father!" Le Yi wailed, her face a mask of tears.
Mu Bei scoffed, "This is the price for offending Laozi! Men, take her away!"
"Yes, sir!"
A group of guards rushed forward to seize Le Yi. But just then, Wu Fa shouted, "So brazen! Even in Evil Valley, no one would dare act like this! You’re courting death!"
He rushed forward and sent a swift punch into Mu Bei, sending the prince flying before he crashed heavily onto the ground.
"How dare you ambush me?! Get him! Kill him!" Mu Bei roared. He spat out a mouthful of blood, his hatred for Wu Fa intensifying. After all, no one in the Imperial City had ever dared to provoke him.
A group of guards immediately charged forward. Ye Fan, of course, was not going to stand by.
"Pure Yang Divine Fist!"
Ye Fan threw a punch, and two guards exploded into a bloody mist. Though they were not weak, they were no match for him.
Wu Fa pulled the weeping Le Yi aside. "Miss, are you alright?"
Le Yi was a mess of tears. It wasn’t clear if it was sympathy or a sudden flicker of tenderness in his own heart, but Wu Fa immediately said, "Don’t worry, miss. I will avenge your father!"
"No, you have to go! Hurry, or you won’t be able to escape!" Although overwhelmed with grief, Le Yi knew that if Wu Fa fought back, he would only be dragged into her troubles, so she urged him to leave.
Wu Fa just said, "It’s nothing. He’s just a prince."
He immediately charged at Mu Bei. Le Yi was stunned. She never imagined Wu Fa would actually seek vengeance for her.
Ye Fan held off the dozen or so guards while Wu Fa reached Mu Bei.
Mu Bei berated him, "Well now, you dog slave! I am Prince Bei of the Red Sand Dynasty! You dare to attack me? Aren’t you afraid of having your entire clan exterminated?"
"Exterminate my clan? You’re not worthy!" Wu Fa said coldly. To him, killing such a lawless person was no big deal; he felt no psychological burden whatsoever.
Mu Bei tried to fight back, but at only the Nirvana Third Level, he was no match for Wu Fa. Wu Fa picked up a golden blade from the ground and slashed off both his legs.
"AHH!"
Mu Bei screamed, but that didn’t mean Wu Fa would stop. With another strike, he beheaded the stunned and despairing prince.
His head flew into the air. The spectators watching from afar felt a mix of joy and fear—joy that this menace had finally been killed, and fear that the incident might implicate the thousands of people nearby. No one dared to oppose the Royal Family.
"Pure Yang Divine Fist!"
With a great shout from Ye Fan, the remaining Golden Guards instantly burst apart.
Seeing Wu Fa holding Mu Bei’s head, Le Yi kowtowed deeply. "Thank you, Benefactor, for avenging my father! It’s just a pity that I am useless and have implicated you!"
"Benefactor, if there is an afterlife, I will devote it to repaying this kindness!"
She was about to slit her own throat when Wu Fa grabbed the blade. "Don’t give up your life so easily," Wu Fa said. "What seems like an insurmountable obstacle to you is but a trifle to me!"
Le Yi stared blankly at Wu Fa. In that moment, despite his fierce and menacing appearance, she felt he was the most charming man in the world.
Just then, the royal patrol team arrived and surrounded the three of them. The distant onlookers knew that within the Red Sand Dynasty, no one could defy them. These three were dead men walking.
The patrol captain was Chen Feng, one of the Red Sand Dynasty’s four great masters. Chen Feng guarded Sha State, and his strength had reached the level of a Divine General. Although he would likely never break through to the Main God Level in his lifetime, his power at the Divine General Peak was still highly respected in Sha State. Aside from the Emperor in the Imperial Palace, the four of them were the most powerful.
He was on duty and hadn’t expected to encounter such a case. Daring to kill a member of the Royal Family within the Imperial City was nothing less than blatant provocation. When he arrived, he saw that Prince Bei had already breathed his last.
"Men, arrest these individuals and hand them over to His Majesty for judgment!" he ordered immediately.
A group of guards moved forward, ready to strike.
"Hold on!" Ye Fan called out.
Facing Chen Feng, he was utterly fearless. He had seen plenty of Main God Level masters, so a so-called Divine General hardly registered in his sight.
Chen Feng asked coldly, "What? Do you have something to say?"
Ye Fan responded, "As Prince Bei of the Red Sand Dynasty, he acted as if no one else mattered, doing as he pleased and kidnapping common women right here in the Imperial City! Is this the example the Royal Family sets?"
"It is not your place to discipline him! Murder is a crime, especially when the victim is Prince Bei. No one can save you! If you dare to resist, you will be executed on the spot!" Chen Feng berated him.
"Very good," Ye Fan said coldly. "So this is the way of the Red Sand Dynasty?"
"Men, seize them!" Chen Feng commanded. He knew that if he didn’t handle this in a way that satisfied the one in the Imperial Palace, he too would be implicated. Therefore, he directed all his anger at Ye Fan.
At that moment, Wu Fa helped Le Yi to her feet. "Laozi is the one who killed him," he said. "Do you dare to arrest me?"
"What’s there to not dare?" Chen Feng replied coldly.
As one of the Dynasty’s four great masters, he had the authority to execute criminals on the spot, even if they were imperial relatives. Moreover, this case involved the murder of a prince. He had to act. Even if it were the King of Heaven himself, he would still make the arrest.
