Chapter 661 - 660: Another Breakthrough
At that moment, Ye Fan asked awkwardly, "Senior Brothers, if I’m really a descendant of the Holy Clan, would you reject me?"
"Haha, reject you? Hell no! We’d be proud of you! Once you grow stronger, you can help us grow with you!"
"Why would we reject you? We’re just afraid that you’ll forget about us!" the Evil Punishment Main God said.
Ye Fan stated firmly, "In this life, I will never forget the guidance my Senior Brothers have given me, just as I’ll never forget the brothers who fought beside me in the Human Clan’s secular world, my family, and my women! No matter where I go, I will never forget. I swear!"
They believed his words without a doubt, for Ye Fan was indeed a perfect leader.
Ye Fan continued, "From the looks of it, neither the Holy Clan nor the Evil Clan are opponents we can contend with. The pressure on us is immense."
The others nodded in grim agreement.
Just then, the Red Sand Main God spoke up. "It seems we need to accelerate our growth. Junior Brother, I plan to take you to the Gods Battlefield for some tempering in a few days! At the same time, these two little rascals need the experience too. After your training, their progress and growth have been clear for all to see!"
Ye Fan nodded. "Alright, but before that, I have something very important to do."
"What is it?" they all asked in unison.
Ye Fan announced, "I’m going to break through to the Great Nirvana Realm!"
"Holy shit! So soon?!" the Butcher God exclaimed, completely shocked. The Evil Punishment Main God was just as stunned. It hadn’t been long since Ye Fan’s last breakthrough, and now he was about to cross a major realm. How could anyone be so incredible!
"It’s just the natural course of things," Ye Fan said, his face a mask of composure.
The others shot him looks of deep disdain.
Ye Fan then declared, "I’ll make my preparations. The breakthrough will be in three days."
"Good! In that case, you shall do it on my Red Sand Immortal Mountain!" the Red Sand Main God proclaimed grandly.
The Evil Punishment Main God and the Butcher God nearly burst out laughing. The Red Sand Main God didn’t understand why, though the Butcher God himself had never personally witnessed the power of Ye Fan’s Nirvana. He had, however, heard the Evil Punishment Main God describe it as nothing short of earth-shattering and brutal.
The Red Sand Main God asked, "What’s with you two?"
"Don’t blame me for not warning you," the Evil Punishment Main God said. "If he breaks through on your Red Sand Immortal Mountain, you’re going to have to rebuild it."
"I don’t believe it!" the Red Sand Main God retorted.
"Neither do I!" Mu Chen Dong immediately agreed. Neither of them believed Ye Fan could be that powerful.
Wu Fa was laughing so hard he could barely breathe.
Ye Fan said awkwardly, "Senior Brother, I think it’s better if I find an open, desolate place for my breakthrough, somewhere with no one for a hundred miles around."
"Hmph! You look down on me too, don’t you?" the Red Sand Main God snorted. "Let me tell you, in three days, you *must* break through on the Red Sand Immortal Mountain! I’ve lived for so many years; I refuse to believe you can destroy my mountain! I’ve seen it all!" He simply refused to yield.
"Since that’s the case, it would be rude of me to refuse," Ye Fan said with a helpless sigh. Meanwhile, Wu Fa, the Evil Punishment Main God, and the Butcher God were simply waiting for the spectacle of the Red Sand Main God making a fool of himself.
「Three days later」
The day of the breakthrough finally arrived. Ye Fan sat before the Red Sand Immortal Mountain, appearing calm and composed on the outside, but his heart was trembling. Heaven knows how terrifying this Heavenly Tribulation will be.
Finally, he began to settle his mind and prepare to face the tribulation. The Evil Punishment Main God and the other two wisely distanced themselves from the Red Sand Immortal Mountain. They knew just how brutal Ye Fan’s Nirvana breakthrough could be.
The Red Sand Main God scoffed contemptuously, "A trio of cowards! I still don’t believe he can destroy my Red Sand Immortal Mountain!"
"Exactly!" Mu Chen Dong added with equal disdain.
Finally, Ye Fan broke through his bottleneck. In an instant, black clouds blotted out the sky.
"Holy shit..." The Red Sand Main God felt a growing sense of dread.
This Heavenly Tribulation seemed unusual. Before long, lightning crackled and thunder boomed within the dark clouds, causing the Red Sand Main God to tremble. The lightning was as powerful as the kind from his own Nirvana! At that moment, his confidence began to waver.
He turned to Mu Chen Dong. "My son, perhaps we should retreat first?"
Mu Chen Dong, who was already trembling beside him, nodded vigorously. He had never witnessed such a spectacle before!
The two of them retreated about ten miles, a distance the Red Sand Main God deemed safe.
BOOM!
A bolt of lightning crashed down, striking the Red Sand Main God directly. He stood there, ashen-faced and dumbfounded. Isn’t this Heavenly Tribulation for Ye Fan’s breakthrough? Why am I getting special treatment?
As for Mu Chen Dong, he had already scurried back to where the Evil Punishment Main God was standing. Seeing this, the Red Sand Main God knew he couldn’t stay either and quickly flew away.
Just then, a dense torrent of lightning fell from the sky, landing squarely on Ye Fan. He screamed in agony and collapsed to the ground. The Red Sand Main God watched in horror. Does the very first stage of the Great Heavenly Tribulation need to be this cruel?!
"This is just the beginning," the Evil Punishment Main God said. "Next, Little Junior Brother has to face an even more terrifying Nirvana."
"Don’t try to scare me!" the Red Sand Main God retorted. His heart ached, as many of his buildings had already been destroyed by that first wave of lightning.
"Just watch," said the Evil Punishment Main God.
Sure enough, countless bolts of lightning converged, charging down like a stampeding army and striking Ye Fan with blistering speed.
"Agh!" Ye Fan cried out as his godhead nearly shattered.
The Red Sand Main God trembled internally. Such terrifying lightning! How can it be so powerful?! He was immensely grateful he had retreated so far away; otherwise, he would have been in real trouble.
The Evil Punishment Main God pointed. "Your buildings!"
"Damn it!" the Red Sand Main God cursed. He knew it was over. His Red Sand Immortal Mountain was finished. None of the buildings had been spared; all were annihilated by the Heavenly Tribulation.
He turned to the Evil Punishment Main God with a pained expression, pointed a finger at his nose, and roared, "You old bastard, you should have warned me properly!" He was on the verge of tears.
The Evil Punishment Main God spread his hands innocently. "I warned you more than once, and Little Junior Brother warned you too, but you just wouldn’t listen. Just accept your fate. This is what you get for not listening to your elders." The gloating smirk on his face couldn’t have been more infuriating.
"I’ll kill you!" With a roar, the Red Sand Main God punched the Evil Punishment Main God right in the eye, leaving a dark bruise.
The Evil Punishment Main God roared back in fury, "You dare hit me? I’ll kill you too!" He landed a punch squarely on the Red Sand Main God’s nose, which immediately began to swell. The two of them began to brawl like shameless thugs.
"Haha! They really are a pair of old fools!" the Butcher God laughed.
Beside him, Mu Chen Dong and Wu Fa desperately wanted to laugh but didn’t dare.
Suddenly, the Butcher God’s expression changed. "Wait! Not good!"
He immediately whisked Wu Fa and Mu Chen Dong away. A moment later, the two brawling old gods were struck by lightning.
As the bolts descended upon them, they both had the same thought. Fucking hell! The heavenly lightning can’t be this unfair! This has nothing to do with us. Why should this disaster fall upon two innocent people?
They froze on the spot, scorched completely black, their hair frizzed out into absurd, explosive afros.
"Damn it! Get over here, now!" the Butcher God shouted.
Before the two could react, another bolt of lightning crashed down, striking them again.
They were on the brink of tears, overwhelmed by an incomprehensible sense of grievance. They scrambled over to the Butcher God’s side, which was presumably a safe distance.
The Red Sand Main God’s face was grim. His Red Sand Immortal Palace had been completely destroyed, and rebuilding it would be a huge hassle. He was filled with regret. He should have listened to their advice.
