Chapter 367: Chapter 341: Bowing for Food

Seeing Qingcao’s drooling expression, Wu Yue laughed. "If you want to know how it tastes, go get another stone bowl. I’ll give you some, and you can try it for yourself."

Qingcao’s eyes lit up, and she started to get up to fetch a stone bowl.

But then she thought of something and sat back down, looking a little embarrassed. "Hehe, I’ll just wait for you to make some for me another day when you have time.

You should eat your fill and get some good sleep. I’ve already prepared the straw nest for you, and there’s a fire going in the cave, so it’s nice and warm."

Wu Yue glanced at her, a warmth spreading through her heart.

She took the stone bowl that Chang Ye had brought over, ladled some noodles into it, and handed it to her. "Here, try some. I can’t possibly finish all these noodles by myself."

Qingcao sheepishly took the stone bowl, giving her a skeptical look. "You can usually polish off a whole pot of food by yourself. Are you sure you’ll have enough if you give me some?"

Staring at Qingcao’s sincere question, Wu Yue felt her face flush.

’Even though I usually eat a lot, do you have to announce it so loudly? Don’t I have any pride?’

She glared fiercely at the rascal beside her. "If you’re not going to eat it, then give it back!"

With that, she reached out to snatch it back.

Qingcao laughed mischievously, quickly jumping up to dodge her. "Well, uh, Yue, enjoy your meal. I’m heading home now.

When you’re done with the noodles, just leave the stone pot by the fire. I’ll come back and return it in a little while."

Her voice had barely faded before she was gone.

Wu Yue sighed softly. ’To be in such a frail body, yet eat more than the average female in the tribe... I’m starting to wonder if I have some kind of disease.’

While Wu Yue was happily slurping her hot noodle soup, the Beastmen from the Scorpion Tribe on the other side stared at the wild vegetable balls in their hands—which were the same color as their own green faces—and felt their spirits plummet.

"This is what the Snow Tiger Tribe is feeding us? This is just too insulting!"

"Eat this? We’d be better off hunting for ourselves."

The Angry Beast looked at the wild vegetable ball in his hand, the same color as the faces of his fellow tribesmen, and felt his appetite vanish.

He might not have been the top dog in his tribe, but when had he ever been forced to eat slave’s food during the great rainy season?

The Beastman who had previously abducted Wu Yue gave a dry chuckle. "We should just eat what we’re given. That little female said she’s going to make us dig caves. If we don’t eat, how will we have the strength to work?"

The other tribesmen looked at him with contempt. "Never thought you were such a coward. Scared stiff by one little female."

The Beastman calmly picked up a vegetable ball and stuffed it into his mouth. As he thought about the taste of the roasted meat from yesterday, it actually started to seem somewhat flavorful.

After swallowing the vegetable ball, he decisively reached for another, only for his hand to grasp at empty air.

He opened his eyes and saw that the very tribesmen who had just sworn they wouldn’t touch the stuff were now licking their fingers, savoring the aftertaste.

The corner of his mouth twitched. ’Didn’t you all say you wouldn’t eat it?’

’Licking your fingers, and you call that ’not eating’?’

After finishing their food, they huddled together as far inside the cave entrance as they could, leaning against one another as they drifted off to sleep.

Wu Yue learned of their actions from the Beastmen on patrol. She simply smiled without a word, instructing the guards to keep a close watch on them before returning to her own cave to rest.

Thick logs burned in the cave’s fire pit, the flames illuminating the entirety of the cozy, small space.

Seeing the thick straw nest topped with a heavy Beast Skin blanket, Wu Yue giggled and dove right in.

She rolled around for a good while before finally settling down and drifting off to dreamland.

「In the Snow Tiger Witch’s cave」

The Clan Leader was looking at the witch, his expression grave. "Are you sure those Beastman Warriors won’t be a problem? That stuff they used to dye their hair is far too dangerous for us."

The witch slowly picked up a nearby stone bowl filled with hot water. He took a sip, smacking his lips, then let out a long, steamy breath, looking utterly content.

"What is there to worry about? Those Beastmen do have poison powder on them. And as for that powder, I have no idea where Yue got it. Even for me, neutralizing it would be no easy task.

If she had activated the poison, we would have been blessed by the Beast God to save even a few of them.

As for that hair-dyeing method..."

At this, he picked up his stone bowl again...

The Clan Leader felt as if a claw was scratching at his heart. Even the stone bowl in the witch’s hand started to look irritating.

’Can’t you just say what you mean all at once?’
