Chapter 428 - 252: The Outer Plane Wizards Seeking Magical Pets
In the high sky, the fierce wind howled.
Haylin streaked northward like a stream of light, covering a distance of over a hundred kilometers in the blink of an eye.
As he approached the destination, he could see from afar the battle taking place there.
On one side of the battle were the Secret Puppets and Master-Touch Puppets of the Witch Hunting Legion, along with a few Wizards from the Star Alliance. On the other side were thirteen robed Wizards.
Watching this scene, a cold smile appeared on Haylin’s face.
Since sixteen years ago, when the Dark Throne’s vanguard was annihilated on the Starlight Continent, the Dark Throne has sent several waves of forces to invade the Starlight Continent.
The strongest invasion force even included three Level 2 Wizards leading the team, plus twenty-five Level 1 Wizards and twenty thousand Flying Wing Bone Claw Legion, all mounted on a small Wizard Tower.
However, they were eventually exterminated by the Star Alliance.
Haylin also participated in that battle.
It was the first time he had fought with Wizards.
He thought Wizards from a large Wizard Influence would be formidable, but surprisingly, they were inferior.
Especially when it came to magical items, they were completely crushed.
Wizards of the Star Alliance almost all had one or two Witchcraft Artifacts, along with engraving gemstones, such devastating weapons.
In contrast, Wizards from the Dark Throne had hardly any Witchcraft Artifacts, let alone other trump cards.
However, the most astonishing and admirable was Lord Sunan.
In that battle, Lord Sunan single-handedly defeated three Level 2 Wizards of the Dark Throne, almost effortlessly.
The overwhelming strength displayed during that time was truly awe-inspiring!
Though occupied with these thoughts, Haylin didn’t slow down. Upon arriving at the battlefield, he joined the fray without hesitation, using his Talent Ability to attack a Level 1 gaseous Wizard.
The invading force sent by the Dark Throne this time was far inferior to any previous attempt, with only a mere thirteen Level 1 Wizards.
And they were besieged by as many as thirty Secret Puppets and Master-Touch Puppets, plus Haylin, and the Star Alliance Wizards arriving one after another, completely overpowering the Dark Throne.
In less than half an hour, the thirteen Dark Throne Wizards were completely wiped out.
After the battle, Haylin approached Fleming, who also participated in the fight, and said with a frown, "It’s strange, why did the Dark Throne send so few this time?"
A mere thirteen Level 1 Wizards, like lambs to the slaughter.
Has the Dark Throne come to a point where they can waste Wizards without feeling distressed?
Fleming shrugged and said, "These guys aren’t strong in combat but are excellent at hiding. Before this, the Eye of the Stars hadn’t detected their presence until they recently attacked an Imperial Count. Only then did the Eye of the Stars discover them, and when the Witch Hunting Legion arrived, these guys were setting up an Array to transmit messages to the Dark Throne."
Haylin understood immediately, realizing these people were sacrificed pawns.
The Dark Throne likely never expected them to return alive, and their ultimate goal was to probe the real situation of the Starlight Continent and relay the information back.
In essence, the Dark Throne’s previous invasions ended in disaster because they didn’t understand the Starlight Continent’s situation and underestimated the Star Alliance’s strength, leading to this operation.
Perhaps only the Dark Throne’s twisted system in the entire multiverse could accomplish such a thing.
Except for the Dark Throne, no other Wizard Influence could force thirteen Wizards to undertake such a suicidal mission.
"The Dark Throne likely already understands the situation on the Starlight Continent," Fleming said. "They probably won’t send more people to their deaths before the planar blockade is lifted."
Haylin nodded in agreement.
As long as the planar blockade isn’t lifted, the forces the Dark Throne can send are limited, posing no threat to the Star Alliance, serving only to provide training and loot.
"By the way, how did you get here so fast?" Fleming suddenly remembered to ask.
Haylin replied calmly, "I happened to have business in Flash City."
Fleming understood immediately, probably related to the Imperial Royal Family again.
As a member of the royal family, Haylin had certain responsibilities for the Imperial Royal Family.
But meanwhile, Haylin gained support from the Imperial Royal Family’s resources.
It was for this reason that Haylin, though much younger, had almost simultaneously been promoted to Wizard like himself.
Fleming actually quite envied the other’s resources.
"This time you can earn some Contribution Points again, and you can exchange for some Refined Gold Golems when you return."
"I remember you already have a legion of two hundred Refined Gold Golems."
"Not enough, to hunt Elemental Spirits, the more Refined Gold Golems, the better."
Haylin remained silent.
Within the Star Alliance, Elemental Dust was almost equivalent to Contribution Points.
The mission hall always had tasks for acquiring Elemental Dust, and they never seemed to be taken down.
Many Wizards formed Golem Legions to enter the Elemental Plane to hunt, collect Elemental Dust, earn Contribution Points, and then exchange for Refined Gold Golems to expand the legion, continuing to hunt in the Elemental Plane.
Through this snowballing method, quite a few Wizards were now earning Contribution Points at an astounding rate.
Haylin didn’t understand why the Star Alliance collected so much Elemental Dust.
While it had a wide range of uses, it didn’t seem like the Star Alliance needed that much Elemental Dust.
The amount of Elemental Dust collected by the Star Alliance over the years had accumulated to astronomical numbers, and no one knew where it was all used.
However, doubts aside, Haylin was somewhat tempted.
The Imperial Royal Family now had a legion of over a thousand Refined Gold Golems as part of the royal family’s private army.
