Talent Awakening: Rise Of The Underestimated All-Profession Awakener!
Chapter 76: The Tyrant Slayers
By the time the members of the Dominion Legion arrived at the Frontier, the news had already spread across the entire Frontier that a group of well-known S-rankers, especially the likes of North Rockbridge and the Good Sisters, were in the valley.
The first question that everyone kept asking was...
"What have they come for?"
And it remained a mystery until the news about the monster outbreak began spreading across the region. How it came to spread, no one knew, but it hadn’t taken up to two hours since the members of the Dominion Legion arrived.
When the report was given to Ferdinand Skyrow, he was left with a great mood of unease and confusion, having to hear that the platinum S-rankers who jointly slew the Diamond Colossal Tyrant at the edge of the Endless Waters were in Blood Trial Outpost.
First things first... Knowing that he was behind it was going to be a problem he wouldn’t be able to take care of unless the Steel Emperor had his back, and he knew that wasn’t guaranteed because he hadn’t granted the Steel Emperor all that he had asked for.
That was another case he had to manage.
"Are you sure it’s the Tyrant Slayers?" Ferdinand asked, with his eyes looking like they were going to fall out of their sockets the next minute.
"Very sure, Your Honor," the messenger nodded with the kind of passion that showed that he’d swear with his life that it was them.
But then, the Mayor didn’t stop asking.
"Are you sure they were headed for Blood Trial Outpost? Are you sure they didn’t divert towards the road to the Teleport Station?"
"I can swear with my penis, Your Honor. I and my group had to watch for several minutes to confirm. We clearly saw the likes of North Rockbridge the Regenerator, the Good Sisters of Sky City, and the Nightmare."
Ferdinand stared for a moment before finally nodding his head.
"I think that’s enough reason to tell that it’s them," he bit his lips and sat on the silver chair, pondering.
"What could be the reason? Do they simply want to know what caused the outbreak?" Ferdinand had no choice but to ask a mere messenger, troubled.
"If I may speak, Your Honor. I think they knew someone in the outpost who happened to be a victim of the outbreak. Or perhaps, the Steel Emperor has decided to give the job of finding his daughter to them," the messenger said.
"No... Can’t be that. The Tyrant Slayers aren’t mercenaries, and they are almost on the same level as the Steel Emperor. He can’t even afford to send them on a mission all at once. It would cost a fortune," Ferdinand interrupted.
The messenger was about to say something else before he asked him to leave, clearly signifying that he needed no more words.
The messenger walked away and left the chamber, and the Mayor sat with his mind drifting towards many places.
"What are they there for?"
"If he is right, who would they know from such an inferior community?"
"Am I in trouble?"
"Has the Steel Emperor betrayed me?"
"Is the future of Citadel City at stake?"
******
Several modern runners arrived at the outside compound of Blood Trial Outpost, parking at different places, and before then, two figures were already standing outside.
One looked like he was waiting, and the other was... just there.
After what the Seer Profession had shown him, Roman was already on the edge of erupting with rage.
He hadn’t told Rena yet, but he surely would. He knew that it was best that he kept it from her at this point so she wouldn’t rush to make a move when they didn’t even have a good plan yet.
He had patiently waited for the members of the Dominion Legion to arrive, and now that they had finally done so, he wasn’t just getting a chance to reveal it to them, he was also getting to meet them for the first time except for North.
They all started stepping out one by one.
First was North, and then Roman couldn’t exactly point out the rest of them because he hadn’t seen them before.
He was only able to grasp that the huge guy was Nightmare, who was the only male in the group aside from him.
It was after they had approached him that he finally got to know their names.
"Hey, Roman. Hey, Young Mistress," North greeted as she approached both of them, and she turned to the rest of them behind her.
"This is Lyra Caverly," she pointed at the lady wearing a long black jacket, who had glasses on and was chewing gum.
"This is Sapphire Sterling," North pointed at the one with a massively curvaceous body and dark-blue eyes.
She was dressed in a tight black dress that reached her upper knees and had the kind of look that someone would regard as charming.
She was not the prettiest in the world, but she was definitely one of the hottest.
"Hi, Roman. You are actually a hot guy," Sapphire said as she attempted to give a handshake.
Roman accepted the handshake, and Sapphire had intended to make it a very long one until she noticed the look from the young lady standing next to him, and she had to withdraw her hand before things got ugly.
North shrugged and pointed to the two ladies right next to her.
"These are Melissa and Melisandra Good. They are twins and are an indomitable force of nature when fighting alongside each other. Don’t worry, you’ll see."
Roman gave a soft nod, as he immediately shook hands with all of them. Everything had gone well except with Sapphire and Melisandra, who were staring at him like their eyeballs would pop out soon.
Roman had to act like he wasn’t noticing anything, and that was how the introduction part ended.
When North wanted to talk about Nightmare, he immediately did the introduction himself before walking into the outpost without needing permission.
Everyone watched him walk in without looking back, as it was undoubtedly an aura-farming moment.
"Nonchalant motherf**ker..." Lyra was frowning as he walked away.
However, that section had passed, as Roman also got to introduce himself a little, and it was soon all about Rena next, who addressed herself as Roman’s girlfriend, completely removing the fact that she was the Young Mistress of the Steel Empire whom her father had been looking for.
They knew. They all knew it was her, but they had already decided not to talk about it.
"So, Roman. To honor you as a fellow member, we had to cancel the Cross Operation and come down here to support you. It’s obvious that your community is gone," North stared around and said. "But at least one thing is certain, that the dead are laid to rest, and the cause of this disaster must be attended to, no matter the cost."
"We are going to stand with you every step of the way and make sure that you avenge the cause of this disaster to your satisfaction. We are at your service, Roman."
Rena glanced at both of them with a clear look of amazement, sensing the sincerity in the voice of North Rockbridge, such a prestigious and influential figure.
They were actually giving Roman the level of respect that even the Head never got from the Entrants of the outpost. Now, it was actually an F-ranker getting full support and service from the Tyrant Slayers, S-rankers who had a lot of mind-blowing histories made in the Badlands.
After all that, Roman had only replied with a nod and a few words.
"I’m honored. Thank you."
"So now we get straight to finding how it happened and how the monsters got to clear the entire community."
North grabbed Roman’s arm and led him into the outpost, as they all walked in.
"I’m sure you should know what caused the outbreak, right?" North asked.
"Yes..."
"Good. We’ve got to know why and who, because we are sure that it wasn’t the Entrants of this community who brought the idea.
I came to realize that the Citadel is in charge of this outpost, and they assign the Entrants here for specific tasks."
Roman nodded.
"So, I really do think that they did that again, and they just went for the Boss of the Extraordinary territory, leaving the other hierarchies. That simply means that..."
North paused for a moment.
"They know what it means. They know what they had done would lead to. Yet they did it anyway. It was their intention to have the outpost destroyed, and they couldn’t do it another way so as not to let people know that Citadel City attacked its own outpost," Roman said, finishing the assumption for her at that very instant.
"The Mayor sent General Warden to do the job, and the Head never saw it coming. He was too blind to see the threat. He had always been. Citadel City never cherished Blood Trial Outpost. It has always been a hunting zone for them, and in the end it ended up becoming useless to them," Roman added.
The whole group had gathered and was listening to him speak, including Rena.
"So this is what I want. This is what I’m asking for. That we find out why he did this and make sure he pays, together with whoever plotted it with him, and then I will go straight to rebuilding the outpost..."
"But before that, we will clear the entire valley and make sure there’s no monster left alive in it," Roman sighed.
"What I love to hear," Nightmare said with a shaky smile as he walked by and headed out.
And with that, North and the rest nodded.
