The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 76 - 0: Adrian Desmond is also Poisonous-tongued
"And add one more clause!" Adrian Desmond thought for a moment, holding the signing pen. šš£š²ššØš²šš»š¼šÆš²š.š°šš¦
"What should I add?"
"Within one year, if I die, this stock transfer agreement is void."
Without waiting for Maxwell Bradfordās agreement, Adrian swiftly added this sentence to the end of the document. Maxwell, puzzled, asked, "Whatās the reason for this?"
"Maxwell Bradford, Iām giving you my most profitable business. I donāt want you to betray me and prevent me from leaving here today."
"Donāt worry. I said I would let you go, and I will. After all, you still have my son in your hands, donāt you?"
Maxwell naturally preferred his son over a woman.
Adrian sneered, "As long as you know."
"Donāt believe the nonsense this woman just said! If you could have a son by a woman, you would have had a football team of sons by now, emerging from Agaia," Adrian said sarcastically.
Adrian was saying that Maxwellās inability to have a son was his problem, not the womenās.
Over the years, Maxwell had had many women, but none of them, let alone a son, had even given birth to a daughter for him. Maxwell naturally knew this, and his face darkened.
Although Adrian had risked coming, he hadnāt brought Maxwellās biological son with him, leaving himself a trump card.
If Maxwell didnāt let him take Sienna away, Adrian would make sure Maxwellās bloodline ended!
Both sides signed, and Adrian handed the stock transfer agreement to Maxwell. Seeing his goal achieved, he said his farewell, "Your son will be sent to you tomorrow. If you donāt trust me, you can go and get him yourself."
Maxwell asked, "Where is he?"
"In Liverwell."
"How could he be in that place? What have you done to him?" Maxwell, thinking Adrian had hurt his son, questioned him angrily.
Adrian sneered, "Iām not as heartless as you. Your son is doing well; he was adopted by a Christian Orienta Diaspora couple and is living a good life now. He has a deep bond with his adoptive parents, and they love him very much. If you go, I doubt your biological son will want to come back with you."
Adrian had Walter Klein leave Maxwell his sonās address, saying, "You seem so eager to see your son; you might as well go and bring him back yourself."
Adrian took Sienna Johnson and tried to leave, but Maxwellās armed bodyguards stopped them, pointing their guns at Adrian, which made him very displeased. He asked, "Maxwell Bradford, what are you trying to do? Are you really going to betray me now that this is settled?"
"If I canāt get out of here today, Iāll make sure your son dies with me!"
Maxwell didnāt trust people easily. He had his men call the number at the address Adrian had left. A young boy answered the phone in English, "Hello, this is Professor Wongās house. Who are you looking for?"
"Humph! Businessmen value their promises! Since Iāve made this deal with you, I will naturally be honest and wonāt try to fool you with some random boy."
"Adrian Desmond, if you dare to deceive me, the child in your womanās belly will never have a chance to be born alive!" Maxwell waved his hand, and the men pointing guns at Adrian backed down.
"I will protect my own child; you donāt need to worry about it." Adrianās expression turned grim at the curse upon his child.
"I wonāt see you out!" Maxwell said.
Adrian grabbed Sienna Johnsonās arm and pulled her towards the exit. His strides were large, and Sienna, still barefoot, was dragged along by the furious Adrian as they headed outside.
When they reached the courtyard, Sienna was startled by a severely injured man.
She put her hand to her lips, nearly crying out.
The man was strung up, his bare upper body a mass of wounds. Sienna was shocked when she saw the manās eyes. On the ground lay a motionless woman, her clothes disheveled... as if she had been violated.
The man stared fixedly at the woman on the ground, his eyes filled with rage, despair, and grief. Sienna couldnāt bear it and stopped.
Adrian, puzzled why Sienna had suddenly stopped, followed her gaze. Seeing her staring at another man, he said unhappily, "You damned woman, I havenāt even settled things with you yet, and you dare to stare at another man?!"
"Please save him," Sienna begged.
Adrian sneered, asking, "Why?"
"Heās going to die."
"If heās going to die, whatās that to me?" Adrian said coldly.
"If you donāt save him, Iām not leaving."
Sienna didnāt know why, after seeing the manās eyes, she felt compelled to save him. This man, however, would play a crucial role in her future.
She saved his life and provided a simple coffin for the woman he loved; he repaid her with a lifetime of devotion.
Adrian was truly enraged now. He raised his hand as if to strike her, but though he was angry enough to kill her, he couldnāt bring himself to do it.
"Mai, do you think I canāt bear to lose you, so you deliberately cause trouble for me at every turn? Do you think I donāt dare to kill you?"
Sienna walked over to the woman on the ground, took off the coat Adrian had just draped over her, and covered the womanās exposed body. She gently placed her hand on the womanās face, closing her eyes that had remained open in death.
"What kind of world is this? Where is the law? Where are the police? Why isnāt anyone doing anything about this?" she murmured softly.
She lived in a society governed by law, where murder was paid for with oneās life. But here, life was as cheap as an ant on the ground, easily crushed underfoot.
The half-dead man who was strung up suddenly burst into loud sobs, his cries making everyone who heard them feel sorrowful.
Maxwell also heard the commotion and came out. Seeing Sienna squatting before the dead woman, he asked, "Whatās going on here?"
A subordinate recounted what Sienna had said. Maxwell, surprisingly magnanimous, said, "Since Miss Mai has taken a liking to these two, Iāll do you a favor and give them to you."
"Thank you!" Siennaās face showed no trace of a smile.
"Tatu, can you help me get this man down?"
"Walter?"
Tatu didnāt move, instead glaring at Sienna, still resentful that Adrian had lost Amwakaās free passage rights and the Verita Group because of her.
Walter Klein also stood motionless.
Sienna glanced at Walter Klein again. Seeing that neither Tatu nor he would help, she decided to untie the ropes herself. She struggled to control the manās weight; as the rope slackened, he fell heavily from the height of one story. Sienna quickly ran over to check his injuries.
