The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine
Chapter 53: Young Master?
’How did he know my phone number?’
Her chest tightened as an old, uncomfortable feeling stirred within her. It was the kind of feeling she had worked so hard to forget and let go.
For a few seconds, Sienna didn’t move.
The phone kept ringing, each vibration growing louder than the last, pressing against her nerves.
She hesitated. Part of her wanted to ignore it completely, to let it ring until it stopped, and pretend none of this had happened. But another part of her refused to let it go so easily.
’What if Zach is calling me from his second number?’
She pushes aside her worry and finally answers the call, "...Hello?"
There was a brief silence on the other end, just long enough to make her grip tighten again.
Then, a strange male voice sounded from the other end.
"Good evening, Miss Sienna. My name is Logan. My master asked me to come and pick you up. I’m waiting here at the entrance to your apartment."
The voice on the other end was calm and polite, with a quiet professionalism that instantly made Sienna sit up straighter.
"Ah, I see. Thank you for picking me up... Mr. Logan," she replied swiftly, her earlier hesitation and worry gradually fading as she rose to her feet.
In one smooth, slightly panicked motion, she slipped her saddlebag over her shoulder, nearly dropping it in the process, before hurriedly tucking the recipe from Ava.
Her eyes darted around the room as if making sure she hadn’t forgotten anything important. Then her gaze stopped on her suitcase.
"Right—" she muttered, grabbing it by the handle and nearly bumping it into the edge of the table. "I’m on my way. Give me a minute."
"Yes, miss..."
She ended the call and didn’t waste another second.
The door clicked shut behind her as she rushed out. If anyone had seen her at that moment, they might have thought she was either fleeing the gangster or heading to a weekend job.
It didn’t take long for her to reach the ground floor. Dragging her suitcase across the polished lobby floor, she made her way toward the main entrance, then stopped when she saw a sleek black Maybach parked outside.
Sienna was stunned.
’Wait...’ Sienna whispered, her grip tightening on the suitcase handle. ’Don’t tell me Zach sent a Maybach and his driver... to pick me up?’
Her mind immediately began to get too busy, forming conclusions faster than she could stop them.
’Well, I know he’s rich... but is he that wealthy?’ she wondered, her lips parting slightly in disbelief. ’Heaven! Did I accidentally accept a job from some hidden billionaire without realizing it?’
Before Sienna could dig herself deeper into that thought, the driver’s door opened, and a man stepped out.
He moved with quiet confidence, walking directly toward her as if there were no doubt in his mind about who she was.
’Oh... Zach really sent this man to pick me up?’ Sienna still wasn’t fully convinced this was real. ’Then why was he driving an SUV all this time? Was that... his casual mode?’
"Excuse Me, Miss Sienna?"
The man’s voice snapped her back to reality.
She swallowed lightly before nodding. "Yes, yes, that’s me..."
"Miss Sienna, I’m Logan," he said, already taking her suitcase. "Let me carry your luggage."
"Thank you..."
"Miss, I’m sorry my master can’t come himself. He has a sudden, important meeting. He will join us soon."
’Master...’ Sienna repeated silently in her mind, her expression stiffening for a moment. ’Okay... that word alone already sounds expensive,’ she thought, her imagination running just a little too far ahead of her.
"It’s okay..." she replied with a faint smile, though her mind was anything but calm.
Logan nodded politely, then opened the car’s back door and gestured for her to enter.
But just as Sienna was about to step inside, she halted. Someone is already sitting there.
’A little boy...!? Who is he?’
Sienna looked at the young boy, no more than five or six, sitting quietly with an iPad in his hands. His tiny fingers moved across the screen with impressive concentration, and the gentle glow reflected softly on his face, making him appear even more composed than a child his age would be.
Her gaze shifted slowly from the boy... then to Logan.
"Logan..." she began carefully, lowering her voice as if afraid of saying the wrong thing. "I just want to make sure... your master’s name is Zach, right?"
Sienna felt a little confused as she began to think she might have accidentally gotten into the wrong car.
Logan was surprised to hear her casually call his master’s name, but he quickly composed himself and responded warmly, "Yes, he is. Miss, you can enter now. Or we will be late."
’Late...’ That word alone pushed her forward before she could ask anything else.
With no time to overthink, Sienna stepped into the car and carefully took a seat beside the young boy.
The door closed softly beside her, sealing her into a situation she still hadn’t fully processed.
For a brief moment, the boy glanced at her. His eyes were calm, observant. Then, he returned his attention to the iPad, as if she were nothing more than a passing detail.
’Okay... think, Sienna. Think,’ she told herself. ’Why is there a child here? Who is he? Why is he so calm? Why am I the only one panicking?’
Her eyes shifted slightly toward the little boy again.
’Is he... a relative? A nephew? A neighbor’s kid? A random genius child, Zach, decided to adopt on the way here?’
None of the answers that came to her mind made sense.
And, before she found the right answer, the boy spoke—
"Logan," the boy’s voice is low and calm, carrying an authority that does not match his age at all. "Can you drive faster? We might be late now."
Sienna blinked. Her head slowly turned toward the front seat.
"Yes, young master," Logan replied immediately.
’Young master.’ The words echoed in her mind like a loud bell.
