The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine
Chapter 59: The Real Boss
Sienna’s smile never left her as she walked back toward the kitchen.
Standing before the fridge again, Sienna drew a deep breath.
’Focus. Focus, Sienna,’ she told herself firmly, shaking her head as she reached for the pan. ’You need to impress the little boss.’
Taking a deep breath, she began preparing the ingredients.
The sound of chopping vegetables filled the quiet kitchen as she worked efficiently—cutting broccoli into small pieces, slicing corn, and seasoning the sirloin carefully.
Her movements gradually became smoother and more confident.
Even though her mind had been chaotic just minutes ago, something about cooking grounded her. It gave her control and purpose.
And as the aroma of butter and seared steak slowly filled the air, Sienna couldn’t help but feel a small sense of accomplishment.
’Alright... first mission,’ she thought, flipping the steak carefully. ’Do not disappoint the real boss of this villa...’
Her lips curved slightly.
’...the little one in the living room.’
After a few more minutes of careful cooking, the sirloin steak was finally done.
Sienna stood in front of the stove, holding the pan with both hands, her eyes fixed on the meat’s perfectly seared surface.
The butter had melted into a rich glaze, coating the steak just enough to make it shine under the kitchen light. The aroma alone was enough to make her stomach react, even if she had insisted earlier that she wasn’t hungry.
Besides, the vegetables were ready as well, lightly sautéed broccoli with a touch of garlic and sweet corn that still held its natural color.
She exhaled slowly. ’Okay... not bad,’ she thought, giving herself a small nod.
Originally, she had wanted to make mashed potatoes to go with it. Something creamy, something comforting. But the moment she imagined the extra time it would take, she immediately dismissed the idea.
’No. The child is already hungry. Don’t test his patience...’ she muttered inwardly.
Instead, she opened the fridge again and quickly grabbed fresh fruits—orange slices, golden melon, and watermelon.
She carefully arranged them on a plate, taking just enough time to make it look presentable without turning it into a five-star art display.
Then, as if guided by fate or pure luck, her eyes landed on a cinnamon roll.
Her lips curved.
"Perfect..." she whispered.
Without hesitation, she took it out, placed it in the microwave, and heated it just enough for the sweet scent of cinnamon to fill the air.
When she took it out, she added a small drizzle of honey on top, just for a little extra touch.
’Yay! The dessert is done...’ she thought proudly as she placed it on the dining table.
Stepping back, she glanced at the table one last time before she called them. Everything was neatly arranged: steak, vegetables, fruit, and a warm cinnamon roll on the side.
’This should be enough to fill their hunger... right?’
After making sure everything was in place, she finally let out a breath of relief and removed her apron.
Her shoulders relaxed as she turned toward the living room. She was slightly surprised to see Zachary there.
Sitting calmly beside Skylar, his long legs crossed, he held a business magazine in his hand.
For a moment, she simply stood there, watching him. Then she quickly shook her head and walked toward them.
"Zach, Sky... the dinner is ready," she announced, her voice steady, though there was a hint of pride in it.
Zachary looked up, clearly surprised. "Already?" he asked, his gaze shifting briefly toward the dining table. Even from his seat, he could see the carefully arranged dishes. He then stood up, his focus entirely on her.
"Yes," Sienna replied with a small smile. "I prepared something simple and fast. I hope the taste will match your expectations..."
Zachary studied her for a second before a faint smile appeared on his lips.
"Let’s see," he said with a faint smile and a light tone. Then he turned to Skylar, who had already stood up without being told. "Let’s go."
The three of them walked toward the dining area.
But the moment Zachary reached the table, his brows furrowed slightly. He glanced at the dishes. Then at the plates. Then back at Sienna.
"Why didn’t you prepare for yourself?" Zachary asked. There was something in his tone, a noticeable disappointment.
Sienna immediately straightened.
"I’m not hungry yet," she answered with a quick smile, giving a gentle wave as if to brush the matter aside. "You guys eat first. I need to check my room..."
Zachary looked at her for a moment longer. He wanted to say something, but in the end, he didn’t press further. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
He simply said, "The guest room is on the first floor... At the end of the corridor."
And he pointed in a certain direction.
"Okay. Thank you." Sienna nodded and quickly excused herself. "Enjoy the dinner..."
She didn’t dare stay any longer. Not when she feels nervous and worries that the dish she cooks for them tastes terrible.
As she walked away from the dining area, she could feel her thoughts catching up to her.
’What if the steak is too salty? Or too dry? What if the child doesn’t like it? What if...’ She sighs deeply. ’My goodness, Sienna... You’ll go crazy if you keep thinking like that.’
Shaking her head, she continued walking until she found the guest room.
And the moment she opened the door, she found her suitcase was already inside. Placed neatly near the bed.
Her gaze shifted to the inviting bed at the center of the room. Without thinking twice, she walked in, closed the door behind her, and practically threw herself onto it.
The mattress dipped gently under her weight, wrapping her in comfort. Her entire body relaxed instantly.
She stared at the ceiling, her arms spread slightly beside her.
’This is heaven...’ she thought.
But even in that moment of comfort, her mind refused to rest. Her thoughts drifted back to the dining table.
’Are they eating now?’
’Did they like it?’
A small frown appeared on her face.
’Or... did I just ruin my first job as a chef?’
