The Truth Seeker.

The Truth Seeker was a demoness that Ari respected heavily.

Simon got to know of her after asking Ari about the mind techniques of the Mad Scientist.

After hearing her title being called, the Truth Seeker turned and looked at Sunless.

The Truth Seeker was wearing a pure white robe with a white hoodie.

Her face could not be seen, and if one attempted to see her face, one would only see darkness in the hoodie.

Her hands were also covered in white gloves.

"Hahh. Sunless. You’ve finally arrived."

Truth Seeker’s voice was exceptionally soft and soothing. It was a voice that many children would love to hear all day.

Sunless’ frown deepened.

"Why do you make it sound like you’ve been waiting for me for a long time?"

Truth Seeker chuckled, then she calmly approached Sunless.

"Because I have. I wanted to see the result of your battle with him... and her, I guess."

Sunless’ eyes flashed with a cold light.

"You... You know Blackmoon and that bitch?"

Truth Seeker nodded slightly.

"Yes, I do. I know Blackmoon quite well in fact."

Sunless’ expression could not help but darken, and the gears in her mind spun, but with the existence of the Eternal Mind Maze, she was finding it difficult to properly organize her thoughts.

However, there was one thing she was absolutely certain of even though her mind was not working properly.

The Truth Seeker played a role in everything that just happened... Maybe even a very important role in Simon’s life.

"What did you do?" Sunless scowled. "We had an agreement, and one of the terms and conditions was that you would not do anything that would harm the Shadowgrave Clan."

The Truth Seeker shrugged with her hands raised slightly.

"But I didn’t do anything that would harm the Shadowgrave Clan. I didn’t do anything at all."

She shook her head slightly, then she continued speaking and approaching Sunless.

"As per our agreement, I only joined your clan to gain more knowledge, especially about the shadow element."

"I worked as a librarian, and you also know that I rarely left the library. So how could I have done anything that would harm the clan?"

Sunless could not help but frown after hearing her words.

The problem was that the Truth Seeker was right.

When the Truth Seeker was in the clan, she had been monitoring her every movement, so she knew that the Truth Seeker had not done anything suspicious.

The Truth Seeker was even one of the reasons why Sunless remained in the academy and did not leave.

Just as Sunless was wracking her brain and trying to discover what the Truth Seeker could have done, the Truth Seeker spoke.

And her next words... made Sunless furious.

"All I did was to just place two very unimportant books that contained ordinary mental techniques."

Despite the state of her mind, it did not take long for Sunless to realize what Truth Seeker actually meant.

BOOM!

"YOU BITCH!!!!"

"HOW DARE YOU PLACE THE TECHNIQUES OF THAT BASTARD IN MY DOMAIN?!!!"

"HOW DARE YOU!!!!"

Truth Seeker placed her gloved hand on her mouth and could not help but chuckle softly and calmly.

"Oh dear. Sometimes I wonder if there’s a deeper and even more embarrassing reason as to why you hate the Mad Scientist so much."

Sunless’ eyes were wide open in rage, then she screamed.

"YOU!!!!"

She stretched out her hand, and her hands were about to emit a black glow, however...

Grab

A hand wearing white gloves held her by the wrist, and the Truth Seeker’s voice drifted toward Sunless.

"Nah. Nah. Nah. You should calm down. I’m not here to fight you."

Sunless’ chest fell and rose so as she stared at the Truth Seeker with a furious expression.

She wanted nothing more than to kill the Truth Seeker, but there was one undeniable truth she knew.

She would not be able to defeat the Truth Seeker even in her peak.

The Truth Seeker was a mysterious and terrifying demoness.

Her abilities were strange.

Sometimes, Sunless wondered if the Truth Seeker was able to see the future or if the Truth Seeker had the power to control people’s fates.

Truth Seeker rarely lost.

Even when it looked like she had lost and she was defeated, at the end of the day, she would come victorious.

Sunless’ eyes flashed with a myriad thoughts as she stared into the darkness of the Truth Seeker’s hoodie.

She couldn’t see the Truth Seeker’s face. The only thing she saw was darkness.

"Why are you here?" Sunless asked.

The Truth Seeker chuckled softly.

"Didn’t I tell you, I wanted to see the result of your battle with him."

Sunless frowned deeply.

"What do you plan on doing to him? Why him? I thought you loved to move about like a wanderer in search of a bullshit truth you’ve been looking for."

The Truth Seeker shrugged, then she lowered Sunless’ arm, but she still held it.

"What if I tell you, that the boy is related to that truth."

Sunless’ expression changed.

"What?"

The Truth Seeker laughed softly, then she shrugged.

"Oh. Don’t mind me. I might be saying rubbish, so it doesn’t matter."

Sunless’ frown deepened, and a thought appeared in her head.

"Tell me, Truth Seeker. Did you have a hand in Blackmoon coming to my clan? Did you plan all of this? Or did you only interfere by placing the techniques of the Mad Scientist in my library."

If Sunless could see through the darkness that was preventing the Truth Seeker’s face from being seen, she would see that the Truth Seeker had a smile.

"Shhhhh."

The Truth Seeker placed a finger on the edge of the hoodie of her robe.

"I believe I’ve prevented you from sleeping for too long. Sleep is the best medicine after all, and I want to give it to you."

"What?"

Sunless was baffled, but her pupils suddenly constricted when she saw the Truth Seeker’s hand right in front of her face.

Before she could respond, her face was covered by the Truth Seeker’s hand.

"He did well creating a maze this complicated, but it’s not enough. He needs more time to grow which means you need to sleep more."

Sunless’ eyes bulged, and she tried to resist but she could not.

Inside her mind, the maze Simon created began to change.

At first, it looked like it was about to dissipate, but it became more solid and it even became more complicated.

When Sunless realized this, she cursed the Truth Seeker a trillion times inside her mind.

But the Truth Seeker didn’t care.

"Go to sleep Sunless... you need it."
