The Character That Was Never Written
Chapter 1 : Ancient Temple
"Phew" Zeres wiped the sweat from his forehead, gazing at the sun.
"Finally, I can quit from this shitty company. " a smile tugged at his lips as he walked away from the hellish company he’d survived for over 5 years.
5 whole years were spent in his life, working tirelessly so he could just save money then start his own business and live a quiet life on the countryside.
Ring
His phone buzzed with a message, he opened it right away, his younger sisters message showed on the screen.
[@ungreatful_sister : Zeres, I’m at the airport with my boyfriend, what souvenirs are you bringing with you. It should be delicious or else..]
Zeres smile softly "This brat, threatening me just for souvenirs"
[@narcissist_zeres : Yes yes madam]
Typing on the screen, he then sat at his own seat.
[I almost forgot, is your novel finished?]
His sister was a webnovel author ’though she’s not that successful’ even so, he love his younger sister’s work that he’s always there to proofread it everytime she published new Chapters
[@ungreatful_sister : Not yet, it’s still at volume 4, I mainly focused on revising every plot hole so it took time]
[@narcissist_zeres : It really is a long story huh? ]
[@ungreatful_sister : Of course, there’s still many mysteries I’ve yet to write]
Closing his phone, he glance at the planes window "I hope she succeeds on this, it had been her dream since she’s a kid"
Leaning against the comfortable seat he has, he breathed heavily.
’I can finally go home’ still staring at the window, Zeres smiled softly.
The flight was comfortable, his wallet was almost emptied because of this—but it was worth it, the flight will last for 12 hours so he had no choice.
"Hmm, I should just sleep first " Zeres mumbled, his eyelids growing heavier by the seconds.
Just then
A static, before the whole plane was engulfed in a black smoke.
"My child, the time has come"
Amidst his drowsiness, he heard a voice, distant and blurred— before he drifted into sleep.

"Ughh" Zeres groaned, feeling uncomfortable by the cold marble he lay on
’Wait, marble?? ’ he looked at the ground, only to see his precious VIP seat at the plane gone—replaced by a cold marble and a stillness that sent chill down to his spines.
"Where am I? " Forcing himself up, his gaze snapped towards the surroundings— then halted at the center of the mysterious place.
"What the fuck is this prank? " He stared at the altar filled with thorned cross and a skull embedded at the very top, towering ancient pillars and a painting made from blood. Countless skeleton and skulls etched on the wall... they were moving.
"Zeres~" a voiced called out from everywhere as the skulls etched in every wall opened their maws.
"Huh, what is this? " Zeres took a step back, the voices of countless people echoing around the silent place made his whole body shiver.
Just then
The sound of stepping into something liquid echoed on the place as the screams, whispers and singing died down.
’Huh? ’ He looked at the ground where the sound came from, there was a foul stench
Blood— he stepped into a pool of blood, and a human corpse devoid if it’s usual vitality layed lifeless on the ground; it’s bones already showing from the thin rotten skin covering it.
"Why is there a corpse here? " Staring at the corpse, a strange sensation course through his veins, his blood heated and he found himself crouching down beside the corpse.
He gulped, staring intensely at the corpse. The corpse was still fresh, it wore a strange robe with drawings clearly not seen on earth.
"What is this strange feeling... It’s a corpse, w-wait do I have a kink for corpses? " his face heated instantly at the thought.
"Haha, there’s no way" Zeres turned around—or atleast, tried to.. But
Before he could control his own body, he stretched out his hand
A faint shimmer, then
The pool of blood near the corpse trembled before they rose and gathered at his outstretched hand.
The skulls etched on the wall cheered as they watched Zeres "Drink it! Drink it~"
He stared at the blood hungrily ’this is dangerous!’ He tried to resist, but his weird instincts took control over his body as he let it through his mouth
He had drank it
"Blerghh, it’s awful" he dropped to his knees, trying to pull out the disgusting liquid he’d just drank
Just then, his eyes catched the glimpse of something. A long silver white hair hindering his vision
"Is this... Mine? " he tried pulling it—only to feel an agonizing pain coming from his head.
"Ouch" He wiped his tears, stood up—then his gaze swept everywhere
Zeres clicked his tounge "There’s no mirror, then I’ll just look at the window pane" then trudged towards the nearby massive window pane filled with intricate design’s
What happened? It seems this isn’t my body, and this ancient temple—I’m certain; This isn’t the plane I boarded. Heck, who would even thought it’s normal for the plane you boarded to vanish?
Arriving in front of the massive window pane, he hesitated, then he stared anxiously
There, he saw his self, an enchanting face that borders androgynous and features a mixture of delicate and refined— long silver-white hair cascading down his back and a liquid-like rubies eyes stared back at him.
"Who the heck is this? "
A strong wind swept the inside of the altar, the candles flickering as Zeres continued to stare intensely at his own reflection... ’But, there’s something off’—only now did he realize that his presence were completely different from a human.
"Thats weird, am I not a human? " as his lips lifted, he saw the canines on his teeth— without warning, his reflection twisted and a different figure was reflected on the massive window pane
"Have you awakened, my child? " An ethereal voice echoed from the glass throughout the ancient temple.
A beauty untouched by time, a bewitching face and features so delicately carved, her long white hair cascaded down her waist, and her eyes— a burning crimson under the moonlight gazed at him, she wore a delicate strapless- black dress filled with intricate embroidery.
’She looks just like me, am I somehow related to her? ’ the thought came sudden as he stared at her, awed by her presence....a presence of divinity or something more.
Then he remembered his current situation"W-who are you? " Zeres asked, his eyes widening as he forced himself to step back.
The woman on the mirror just smiled softly "Do not worry, I only manifested from your memories, I will do no harm to you" her ethereal voice once again echoed.
"T-then what do you want from me? " His voice trembled, the more he looked at those crimson eyes, it feels like he’s being devoured.
But.. At the same time—Something strange inside him stirred, a feeling of longing
’Don’t make me laugh, I don’t even know who’s that woman’ Zeres hissed, but then he realized—he’s not on his body anymore.
’Then what could be this body’s relation to this woman? ’ He pondered, but something’s off—it seems like the woman knows he’d transmigrated in this body, yet she bears no hostility towards him.
"It’s not yet time, my child, I am merely here to see you" after she left those words, the massivw window pane returned to it’s original state and Zeres saw his reflection once more.
Scanning his own face, his eyes squinted "Am I... A vampire? " He mumbled, still staring at the massive window pane
"That’s weird, what the hell is happening?" He cursed "I need to know what the hell’s going on"
"In the first place, why am I here? " Zeres echoed
"What happened to me on Earth? " He forced myself to remember something, anything—so he could get a grasp of what’s going on
In an instant
A searing pain tore through his head as memories came rushing back—memories of a fucked up life
Dropping on his knees, he tried hard to stay conscious amidst the pain for a long time—until it vanished.
Breathing heavily, he managed to let out a laugh "Hahaha, for fucks sake, just when my life was starting to be good I died from a fucking plane crash" he smiled, a dry smile.
"I’m sorry my sister, looks like I can’t even give you a souvenir" his voice trembled as he stared at the ancient glass ceiling filled with incomprehensible alpabhets.
Zeres’ eyes lost focus for a moment "Ahh, fuck, is this a blessing or a curse? " mumbling, he covered his face.
In the stillness of the ancient temple, only the muffled cries of a man could be heard.

After a day had passed, Zeres resolved himself to survive first, then know the truth behind his transmigration
"But first, just where am I? " He glanced at his surroundings, but
The corpse was still there
"This is really bothering me, why am I not bothered at the sight of corpse? " grimacing, he unconsciously used his own mana then sent the corpse outside of the ancient temple.
Then, all at once, he lost his balance—his energy felt empty "What’s that feeling for? " he asked ruffling his own long hair
"Let me see what’s on the outside" mumbling, Zeres looked out at the window, there was—nothing to see, except for four massive gargoyles guarding the temple.
"Gargoyles? Is this fantasy? "
Zeres squinted his eyes, then he saw something, a faint— a faint trace of a densely pure energy enveloping the whole temple. "A barrier? " he though
He can somehow sensed presences— but it was strange, something within him knows it’s not the presence of the living..
"Undeads?" Zeres’ brow twitched, then he sighed
"Just where the he am I?"
This is really ridiculous, I’ve transmigrated but I’m in an ancient temple, surrounded by undeads and who knows—maybe it’s also an isolated land
"I don’t even have a guide, nor do I know this place’s name" he complained, just then— he remembered something
Right, this is the only way.. Though it’s humiliating
"This better work" coughing, Zeres’ glanced around once, twice
Scratching his cheeks — he opened his mouth
"System" he uttered, barely audible
Second passed, minutes
None, nothing appeared before him
"Fuck this is so embarrassing" before he could try again, a translucent red interface appeared before his eyes.
A victorious smirk emerged at his sullen face as he stared at the contents.
’This is it! ’ this will be my guide in surviving in this one hell of a place

He blinked, once, twice
"You’ve got to be kidding me "Haha, no way. Zeres smiled awkwardly then wiped his eyes, as if to convince his self it’s a hallucination. Looking again.... It’s... the same
"Now I know why this character was never mentioned, despite having this kind of face—because he’s a weakling"
"But why is our name the same? " Zeres’ eyes squinted, still staring at the interface before him
"Still, I’m tall as hell " hmm, I think its 190 cm? "
Walking on circles, Zeres decided to think for the future
"Hmm, considering I still don’t know what to do, maybe I can enroll in the Academy, it’s the best solution... To be on the same place as the Main characters, so I know what to do."
"I’ll enroll at the Academy to avoid things going out of control, then I’ll just let the main characters do the job. "
"Wait, system, what date and year is it today? " Zeres asked anxiously, hoping his time of arrival was right.
Ding!
A translucent red screen appeared
[Year : 2684. Month : Pisces. Date : 3]
"Hmm, thankfully, the academy will start 5 months from now" He mumbled as he step outside of the temple
"Still, my sister is sure creative, making the zodiac signs a months here" Zeres’ smirked, proud in his own sister—suddenly, a sunlight hit his whole body
Zeres’ face twisted in horror, then he immediately spun around
He screamed from his lungs out and ran as fast as he could
"They said vampires are weak to sunlights" Zeres’ face scrunched, preparing to look at his own burnt skin...
"Ehhhh? " Bewildered, He twisted my arm, looking for even a tiny wound.... But there’s none
"You’re still amusing, sanguines don’t have that kind of weakness my child, sanguines are superior" the soothing voice of the woman earlier echoed in Zeres’ head
" Ohh, oka— w-wait, why are you in my head!!? " Zeres’ screamed hysterically that even he wondered how that sound came out of his own mouth
