The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop
Chapter 756 - 25: Heavenly Master and the Former Slacker 25
"Niuniu, eat less. You won’t be so heavy, and Mommy can carry you more easily. But now Mommy is tired, so Niuniu should walk by herself." Little Niuniu said this while struggling to get down.
Mom smiled, just about to put little Niuniu down, when she heard a scream. She looked up, and the scene before her scared her to death.
An out-of-control SUV was speeding off the main road onto the sidewalk!
It had already hit several people, and the vehicle’s speed wasn’t slowing down; instead, it was accelerating wildly towards Mom and little Niuniu.
In the last moment, Mom fearfully saw the driver’s flushed face and blurry eyes.
Everything happened too fast, and there was no time to dodge. Instinctively, Mom held little Niuniu in her arms, turning her back to the car.
The screams and cries around them formed a cacophony.
When Mom came to her senses, she realized there was no expected intense pain. Instead, she heard a loud crash.
What happened?
She held little Niuniu and slowly turned her head, witnessing an astonishing scene. The out-of-control SUV had overturned in the middle of the road, some distance away from them. The vehicle’s wheels were still spinning wildly towards the sky, broken glass covered the ground, and blood spurted from the car, belonging to the drunk driver. With such a spurt of blood, how could he still be alive?
Bystanders also watched in amazement. Just as the car was about to hit the mother and daughter, it seemed to hit something solid, which directly bounced it off, causing it to flip into the middle of the road.
People finally came to their senses and began making emergency calls to save lives.
Mom, still shaken, hurriedly left the scene with little Niuniu. A child shouldn’t witness such a bloody scene.
"Niuniu, are you okay? Are you scared?" Mom asked worriedly.
"The chain, it’s gone, boohoo, why did it turn gray?" Little Niuniu’s voice was tearful as she raised her hand to show her mom. "My favorite chain is gone."
Mom looked down, shocked to see the dark gray mark on little Niuniu’s wrist, where the red string bracelet used to be.
"Ding," something fell. Mom looked down and saw a small copper coin. It was the small copper coin that had been strung on the bracelet. Mom bent down to pick it up, then quickly headed home with little Niuniu. A voice in her heart told her that the bracelet had just protected them. Where did this bracelet come from? She had to go home and ask her husband immediately.
Back home, Mom anxiously recounted what had just happened to her husband, also showing him little Niuniu’s wrist and the copper coin.
Her husband tightly embraced the two of them, tears in his eyes. He couldn’t bear to imagine what his life would mean without them.
"It was Cui Wenyan’s aunt who helped us. We’ll find some time to thank her. I never expected she was such an extraordinary person," the teacher said, wiping away tears, feeling grateful.
"The orphan girl from your class?" Mom asked.
"Yes, that’s her. This aunt showed up just to find Cui Wenyan, expressing gratitude for my care of Cui Wenyan. She gave me this bracelet, saying it wasn’t worth anything, just for good luck. I accepted it only because it looked nice and wasn’t expensive. I didn’t expect it would save both of you today." The teacher spoke, still in shock.
"Does this count as good karma, hubby?" Mom snuggled into the teacher’s embrace and softly said, "We should find some time to visit and thank her."
