Cui Wenyan looked at the somewhat desolate villa ahead and frowned slightly.

The villa complex, left unattended for a year, was overgrown with weeds, some areas having grown very tall and lush, possibly even housing snakes. Some vines had climbed up the walls, giving it a rather eerie look.

The main structure of this villa area was actually completed long ago. It was just left to install windows and doors. But when they started installing the windows and doors, strange things began to happen. The newly installed glass windows and doors faced issues the very next day. The windows were completely shattered with shards of glass all over the ground, and the doors were covered in horrifying claw marks. Initially, the construction team thought it was a prank, so after several consecutive days of this, they installed surveillance to catch the prankster.

However, when they checked the surveillance footage, they were scared out of their wits. No one ever appeared; the windows were shattered out of thin air, and the claw marks on the doors appeared out of nowhere. Was this a haunting?

Later, they invited a Daoist to perform rituals, but it was useless. They then brought in a monk to do the same, to no avail.

The villa complex was thus temporarily abandoned.

Later still, the Boss of the villa complex used various connections to contact the Heavenly Master Association, which issued a bounty mission for it.

Cui Wenyan stepped through the gate, took a bottle of water from her bag, and had just unscrewed it to take a sip when she heard the sound of cars outside, and not just one. Soon, people got out of the cars and started walking in her direction. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Following the sound of footsteps, Cui Wenyan looked up and saw a group of youths, all with excited expressions, walking towards her. Among them was someone she recognized—her desk mate, Wu Yihao.

Wu Yihao also saw Cui Wenyan at this point. Curious, he quickly walked over and greeted her, "Cui Wenyan, what are you doing here?" He looked at the backpack on Cui Wenyan’s back and suddenly realized, "You’re here for an adventure too?"

"You guys are here for an adventure? An adventure here?" Cui Wenyan glanced at the few people behind Wu Yihao. Including Wu Yihao, there were four of them, three males and one female.

"Yes, this construction site belongs to my childhood friend’s family. For some reason, it’s been temporarily abandoned. We arranged to come and check out why it was put on hold." Wu Yihao said with a cheeky smile, "Since we met by chance, why not join us, oh noble lady?"

Cui Wenyan looked at the few who stepped forward. Their faces were full of curiosity, excitement, and enthusiasm, with no hint of fear.

Ignorance is truly fearless.

"Let me introduce everyone. This is my childhood friend Liang Bing; it’s their family that developed this villa complex. This is Zhou Kai, and this is Zhao Qian. And this is my deskmate, Cui Wenyan." Wu Yihao enthusiastically introduced them.

"Hello." Cui Wenyan greeted them politely.

"Yihao’s desk mate is our friend too. Cui Wenyan, are you here for an adventure too? Join us!" Liang Bing warmly invited her. Liang Bing was a sunny youth, quite tall. Even though Wu Yihao was already tall, Liang Bing seemed to be over 180 centimeters.

"Hello," Zhou Kai greeted politely.

Zhao Qian, who was a bit shy, merely smiled shyly and nodded at Cui Wenyan. She then clung tightly to Zhou Kai’s arm, cautiously looking around, then shrank her neck and held onto Zhou Kai’s arm even tighter. It seemed like this young girl didn’t come voluntarily but was daring enough to come only because Zhou Kai was here.
