The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor
Chapter 234 - 232: Prince and Princess_2
In the time spent speaking, the battle on the other side had already ended. Lynn awkwardly smashed Giada’s skull with his magic staff, causing her headless corpse to fall into a pool of blood and mud on the ground.
Seeing even Giada dead, the Second Prince was speechless. Charging in now would be nothing short of suicide.
Although extremely arrogant and envious that Illidan had easily taken the Demon Emperor position meant for him, the successive falls of two peak demigods made him slightly recognize reality.
Three against one has a chance, two against one, definitely loses, one-on-one... might as well die.
"Retreat!"
The Second Prince gritted his teeth and ultimately chose to swallow his pride, knowing that life was far more valuable.
"Want to escape? Leave half of them!"
Lynn’s voice echoed eerily like a death knell, causing the Second Prince to shiver all over.
"Your Highness, run! I will hold them... Ah..."
A Purgatory Demigod who had just vowed to cover the retreat was blasted into a rain of blood by Lynn’s staff.
"Phantom, go back and bring the Demons to hunt down these Purgatory Demons, try to drag out their Legion Commanders and kill them. I’ll take care of the demigods!"
With these words, Lynn accelerated toward the fleeing Purgatory Demigods.
Though he started a bit later, with his attributes doubled, his speed increased so much that it was enough to catch up and slaughter them.
"Understood!"
Phantom replied from afar and then disappeared without a trace, only her level of stealth could sneak equipment to Lynn without being detected by the Demons, or else they would have scared these Purgatory Demons off long ago.
Soon after, Phantom returned with five Demon Kings and Guardian Demon God Faction’s Demon King-level experts to the battlefield. They didn’t need to face opponents of the same level; slaughtering the front and middle troops of the Purgatory Demon Race was an easy task for them.
The various Legion Commanders of the Purgatory Demon Race initially tried to resist, but after a large number of Demons died without even scratching the opponents, all Purgatory Demons fell into despair.
The entire army of the Purgatory Demon Race collapsed, breaking ranks, and even before the true Demon Kings could foolishly lead their troops to attack, they started killing each other to find a clear escape route.
Even the Legion Commanders of the various armies abandoned their troops and fled.
Either with or without support, they were completely outmatched, as those on the other side were all true Demon King-level experts, while their side had none left. All had been killed by a single Demon Dragon Emperor, leaving them incapable of fighting back.
Whoever can escape should seize the opportunity!
After today, the Purgatory Demon Race would likely end up much like the Dark Demons and Chaos Demons, losing their advantage in middle to high-end combat power forever.
If the Demon Dragon Emperor struck harder, the Purgatory Demons might even join the Abyssal Demons at the table...
Meanwhile, six demon kings led with a swarm of elite warriors, savagely slaughtering the Purgatory Demons, shattering their front army, collapsing their middle army, and scattering their back army with the chaos from the fleeing front and middle armies. On the other side, Lynn chased, killing along the way... uh, striking down over thirty Purgatory Demigods.
Armed to the teeth, Lynn was unprecedentedly strong; regardless of any Demon King-level expert, none could escape death at his hands.
He felt more terrifying now than in his peak days, though the primary attribute of the mage profession’s Demon Emperor’s Armor set was misplaced, the overall attributes of the set exceeded those of Saint Emperor’s Sword paired with other top-grade equipment, even including the Saint Emperor’s Armor which he’d never worn.
Moreover, its set attributes were extremely abnormal - doubling all attributes!
With this, Lynn felt he didn’t need to guzzle big reds, just holding the staff and going all out, even with a single staff and no mount, he could slaughter all the top Purgatory Demon Race experts, just like he’d done with some elite players against the Abyss Demons before.
"Kekeke, where do you think you’re running to? Tremble under the Great Emperor’s mighty staff!"
As Lynn swung the magic staff forged from Divine Gold, he grew more adept; after all, who didn’t dream of being the Great Sage Equal to Heaven as a child?
Now wielding the staff like a cudgel, even if it’s not the Ruyi Golden Cudgel, it’s not much different since it’s used for subduing monsters and demons.
"Damn! How did he catch up to me?"
While fleeing, the Second Prince looked back, realizing the star killing Purgatory Demigods was charging straight at him, sending a chill from his toes to his head, making him completely numb.
With so many Purgatory Demigods scattering around, how did he get targeted?
Was it just because a few fools shouted "Your Highness, run, I’ll cover you"?
If those jumping out really worked, it would be fine, but none lasted over ten seconds revealing his identity; he’d been sold out!
"Ah, you seem to be some sort of prince, huh? You don’t look that impressive."
A faint voice suddenly echoed in the Second Prince’s ear, as if a murmur from hell, a deathly tune.
"Illidan! You damned thief! Don’t think this prince fears you!"
Seeing he could no longer escape, the furious Second Prince turned sideways to curse.
"Oh? Prince? How amusing, what do you take the Demon Emperor position for? Planning to make it hereditary?"
Lynn blocked the Second Prince’s path, his laughter escaping at the prince’s self-proclaimed title.
He was now the Demon Emperor; could this prince be his son?
Besides the impossibility of fathering someone older than himself, even if possible, he’d first need to meet their mom...
Forget it, he’s no faction, uninterested in certain moms or roles like that.
"If it weren’t for Father unexpectedly falling, three hundred years later this prince would naturally succeed! This prince is the rightful magic emperor by celestial mandate; Illidan is merely a thief taking advantage of the faith war to ascend!"
The Second Prince wielded a Demon Artifact Heavy Hammer obtained from the Demon Dragon Emperor, swinging it fiercely. As a hybrid of Ancient Demon Dragon and Purgatory Demon, he possessed both Innate Divine Power of the Demon Dragon Race and tyrannical magic power of the Purgatory Demon Race. As he claimed, if not for the Demon Dragon Emperor’s fall in Miracle World, many years later upon the old Demon Dragon Emperor’s retirement, he was the strongest candidate for magic emperor... among others.
And that damned Eldest Prince, heir of Ancient Demon Dragon and Yellow Springs Demon, equally talented, just specializing differently; possessing the innate gift of Yellow Springs Demons, the Eldest Prince excelled in magic, an equal match to him.
Though their father had an enormous harem, due to the difficult reproduction within the Ancient Demon Dragon Race, he till death had only two sons and a daughter; both princes being rivals since birth, with the least born Third Princess posing no threat.
Being pureblood Ancient Demon Dragon, she’s entirely different from the hybrid princes.
Though pureblood made the third sister even more gifted than them, her pureblood lineage also slowed growth compared to hybrids.
The 1,200+ year-old princes had already reached peak demigod level, while the 999-year-old Third Princess needed another year to officially come of age, her strength currently laughable at merely level 750.
Though her pre-adult level 750 is considered astonishingly phenomenal, terrifying indeed, falling behind means falling behind, the throne doesn’t reserve for higher talent slower developing, though a thousand years later the Third Princess would undoubtedly crush the princes utterly.
In the current situation, neither the Eldest Prince nor the Third Princess could match the Second Prince; not due to his enhancement, but because he faced Demon Emperor Illidan...
