The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 95 - 93: The Thrill of Killing
Hilia’s battle essentially ended after defeating two priests.
The three phantoms following weren’t her enemies but Rose’s adversaries.
They were foes he encountered in his early days.
He couldn’t remember exactly who they were, much like trying to recall the shape of the bread one ate on a specific day.
Typically, a mage ascends the ranks alone; teaming up is a rarity.
Teaming up introduces each other’s enemies, increasing difficulty and making it much harder than going solo.
Yet, the chance of facing an undefeatable foe is zero.
Because the foes manifested are always matched to the mage’s current strength.
Just like now, although bosses are increasing, their power matches Hilia’s, ensuring they are conquerable.
All with the premise that Hilia still has the energy to fight.
Clearly, she doesn’t.
Rose entered with Hilia, which in some sense can be considered a team-up.
The difference being that others can’t control their team-ups, while Rose can influence them.
He can affect monster generation in this Divine Realm area, intensifying them for Hilia, making the monsters progressively stronger until she can no longer continue fighting.
"Although fighting until now has pushed Hilia to her limits, her strength after leaving will be several times that of an ordinary Tier Two mage. But it is still not enough."
"If not at the extreme strength, I’m embarrassed to present her outside."
Rose supported the drowsy Hilia to the front of four pillars, waiting until they shattered and condensed before letting Hilia rest beside them.
"Watch closely, this is Tier Two Magic ’Ice Shattering Skill’, a spell you need to learn in future."
An orb of ice appears at his fingertip, spinning rapidly before being tossed out, exploding mid-air and scattering countless ice spikes towards the four phantom bosses.
"The distance at which the ice shatters in ’Ice Shattering Skill’ will be your key area to practice, when you can shatter any Ice Magic creating more than 1+1 power, then you’ve mastered it."
Seeing Rose in action again, Hilia gathered all her focus, observing intently.
She shared a spiritual connection with Rose, and through it, she could clearly see the flow of magic power and the fluctuations after the spell was cast.
The ice orb was just an ordinary ice orb; upon being thrown, under the enhancement of ’Ice Shattering Skill’, it pierced straight through the four bosses.
Though it didn’t disperse them, they were quite injured.
Afterward, Rose cast another Ice Magic.
A phantom ice bow appeared in his hands, and he fully drew the bowstring, producing an ice arrow as thick as three fingers.
"Tier Two Magic, Crystal Arrow, watch closely."
Swish!
The sound of the arrow piercing through the air, the Crystal Arrow instantly flew forth, embedding in one of the charging phantoms, shattering it, and breaking into many fragments that struck the remaining three.
The powerful Ice Magic Power enveloped the four phantoms instantly, turning the phantom bosses into statues.
Rose snapped his fingers.
Boom!
The statues shattered!
Hilia’s eyes widened.
"Such a strong ice shattering combination skill."
The Crystal Arrow can freeze enemies, while the Ice Shattering Skill breaks the ice, combining them to shatter frozen enemies as if they were ice blocks.
"This move, in Tier Two Magic, is among the strongest, and not easily combined. Remember the magic power flow path; once you can shatter ice from the surface of your body to your entire body, you’ve graduated."
Hilia nodded absent-mindedly.
Tier Two Magic, truly terrifying!
The formidable four bosses were easily cleared.
A stream of light emerged from the boss’s bodies, rushing towards Rose’s body, but he intercepted it, casually transferring it into Hilia’s body.
Hilia felt strengthened.
The pair continued forward.
Five metal pillars fell, blocking their path.
This time, Rose showed Hilia how to defeat as many enemies as possible with minimal Magic Power.
"After reaching Tier Two, if a Tier One Magic suffice, don’t use Tier Two. Learning how to distribute Magic Power wisely is a vital lesson lifelong for any mage."
"Uh huh uh huh!" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Hilia nodded vigorously.
Continuing forward, six metal pillars, seven metal pillars, eight...
The numbers grew, matching exactly the initial small monster count, leaving Hilia a bit stunned.
"Without Mr. Rose, would this mean I’d never ascend?"
Even entering in peak condition, facing ten boss-level demons simultaneously, Hilia felt she’d certainly be overwhelmed.
Luckily, Rose was here.
Watching Rose navigating through a swarm of boss monsters, fighting while explaining, Hilia wished she could activate her wristband’s recording function to capture the scene for later viewing.
But unfortunately, footage shot here turns into bizarre videos of mere color shifts upon returning to the real world.
Subspace’s Yesterday’s Reappearance spell can’t carry recorded scenes back to the real world.
"What a pity, unable to record it."
The girl felt quite regretful.
Unaware of her thoughts, Rose continued his thrill in slaughter.
Navigating amongst countless monster hordes unscathed still permitted him great enjoyment.
Even as Hilia ascended to the second-tier steps, he remained wanting more.
Next visit, Rose planned to continue the thrill once more.
"The last two times were pure battling, can’t miss out."
Thinking to himself, Rose glanced at Hilia.
Once she stepped onto the second-tier steps, faint golden light enveloped her body.
The Star Spirit Tree phantom atop the Ascension God Stairs bestowed blessings, transforming all gathered strength into hers, instantly doubling her Magic Power Concentration, significantly boosting Spiritual Power, and increasing aspects like stamina and thinking speed, though not perceivable within the Divine Realm.
Hilia’s body shimmered brilliantly until the surrounding environment was enveloped.
Upon the light fading, she found herself back in her dormitory.
Hilia opened her eyes, surveyed her surroundings, didn’t find Rose’s figure, focused her attention on her Spiritual Space, and noticed Rose within, exhaling slightly in relief.
Then she joyfully declared, "God, I feel so powerful now!"
"Oh? Really? I’ll use a Magic Puppet so we can see how you fare."
Hilia’s expression shifted, quickly declining, "No... I’m not that impressive, only comparatively more enduring than ordinary Tier Two mages, haven’t learned Tier Two Magic yet."
Exact combat strength improvement Hilia wasn’t certain about, but she knew her Magic Power had greatly increased.
If a regular Tier Two’s Magic Power Value is considered 100 points, then hers was now at least 300 points.
Threefold endurance allows accomplishing numerous feats.
Feeling the flowing Magic Power within, Hilia grabbed her Flying Broom, excitingly heading out.
"Before learning spells, first study Puppet Storage Skill!"
