The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 97 - 95: Contrasts
"Collect!"
Hilia’s hand radiated light as the magic puppet in front of her slowly shrank, being absorbed into her palm, and disappeared.
"I did it!"
The girl was so happy she almost jumped up.
It was already the next day, Saturday.
Despite Rose’s explanations, Hilia’s compatibility with spatial magic was really low, and it took her a whole day to successfully store the magic puppet into the storage space.
"Don’t be too quick to celebrate; besides collecting, you also need to release. Being able to collect and release freely is truly mastering it."
Rose shook her head, extinguishing numerous ideas.
As a Tier Two Mage, Hilia was eligible to learn spatial magic. Initially, Rose planned to teach her some spatial magic for escape and travel, but seeing her fumbling with something as simple as the Puppet Storage Skill, he reconsidered.
Rather than learn escape magic, it’s better to learn some attack magic. Defeat the enemy and there’s no need to escape.
"Learning it in one day shouldn’t be considered slow." Hilia said with grievance, "Many mages take a month to learn one spell..."
"The problem is you haven’t actually learned it." Rose rolled his eyes.
Hilia fell silent.
Being criticized by Rose, she became extremely serious, attempting to immediately learn how to release the magic puppet.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t.
Almost another day passed before she grasped the trick to releasing the magic puppet.
Rose bluntly said, "With your pace, if I wasn’t force-feeding you, studying on your own from books would take you a month and you’d still fail."
Hilia blushed and lowered her head, the original joy of releasing the magic puppet now vanished.
"Practice today, then learn Ice Shattering Skill and Crystal Arrow with me."
"Okay..."
Hilia’s voice weakened.
After entry, proficiency usually has a quick phase where grasping the skill becomes easier, but improving becomes difficult.
Rose didn’t expect her to improve drastically, as long as she could release the puppet in 10 seconds, it was enough.
This part went quickly.
A few hours later, she successfully mastered the Puppet Storage Skill.
"No need to continue, let’s learn Ice Magic now, you’ll see just how poor your spatial magic talent truly is."
"Is it really that bad?" Hilia mumbled, cleared her mind, and started absorbing the knowledge of Ice Shattering Skill.
Moments later, Hilia opened her eyes and conjured a small ice block with her magic power.
This was Ice Spike; after entering Tier Two, she could more freely control the size and shape of Ice Spike, perfect for practicing Ice Shattering Skill.
Following the magic power circuit in Ice Shattering Skill, Hilia tried to shatter the ice block in front of her.
Crack!
A slight cracking sound came, and the small ice block showed dense cracks before splitting into two, releasing a very weak energy impact.
"Uh...was that successful?" Hilia asked Rose.
"Yes, but not completely successful."
"?"
"Use an ice wall, only when you can shatter the entire ice wall and achieve considerable power will it be successful."
"Okay."
Two hours later.
"Ice Shatter!"
Hilia pointed a finger, and the ice wall before her exploded into countless pieces, a faint energy impact causing the fragments to scatter.
"You’ve entered the basics, let’s switch to Crystal Arrow," Rose said.
"Is that already entry-level?" Hilia looked confused, considering it took two days to learn Puppet Storage Skill, while Ice Shattering Skill only required two hours.
"I already know my spatial magic talent is terrible."
"As long as you know, continue learning."
"Okay."
Crystal Arrow is more complex than Ice Shattering Skill, requiring the steps of forming a bow and arrow. Hilia started with forming the ice bow.
A mass of ice air emerged from her hand and floated in the air, forming a circle under her attempt.
Just as she was about to continue forming the ice bow, a voice suddenly interrupted from beside her: "Hilia? So you were here!"
The interruption caused the ice air to instantly dissolve, and Hilia looked up to see the long-ignored Mier.
Recently, Hilia either went out or devoted herself to study and improvement, preparing for advancement.
This made her rush while at school, being the first to leave after each class. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
She would be the first in the next classroom, pulling out scrolls to draw, or meditating with her eyes closed, not giving Mier any chance to approach.
Not only Mier, Hilia didn’t have time to maintain relationships with other classmates she previously spoke to.
Upgrading is important; the stronger your power, the more friends you have; only the weak waste time maintaining friendships.
When you’re strong, people smile while watching your facial expressions.
That’s what Rose told her.
With pressure from Benovia, and her increasing magic power and spiritual power, her motivation for practice was immense.
For the past few days, to learn magic, she stayed out of the dormitory, heading to the school’s activity area with spell testing zones, allowing students to practice combination skills and learn magic.
While others manipulated magic puppets for combination skill exercises to enhance compatibility, only Hilia was learning magic.
Unexpectedly, Mier, who rarely appeared at the spell testing area, showed up here.
"What’s up?" Hilia’s expression turned flat and she used the most unfamiliar tone.
"I thought Anarce was lying to me; I didn’t expect to really find you here. Anarce encountered some difficulties and asked me to seek your help, hurry and come with me."
Mier rambled, attempting to reach out and grab Hilia.
But before he touched her, he was stopped by an icy, bone-chilling cold.
He felt that if he approached, his hand would surely get frostbitten.
Only then did he notice the re-congealing ice air in Hilia’s hands.
He hesitated, "You’re learning magic? Are you crazy? Instead of learning magic yourself, you could have the magic puppet copy it from school, learn it in a second, and you can use it too, with similar power."
Hilia didn’t respond directly but asked, "Why did Anarce ask you to find me instead of using the wristband to contact?"
"Uh..." Mier hesitated, it was obvious he looked guilty: "Well, her wristband seems broken, so she asked me to come."
"Wristband is broken?"
Hilia stopped learning magic, opened the wristband’s projection screen.
"You better be telling the truth, if I can contact Anarce, I won’t hesitate to freeze you into a human popsicle."
Mier shivered involuntarily.
He sensed pressure emanating from Hilia.
The pressure felt real, like...high-tier mage pressing on low-tier mage’s awe.
Could Hilia have reached Tier Two?
Mier thought, but quickly dismissed his idea as ridiculous.
Impossible.
None of the other candidate Holy Daughters might be Tier Two; how could the weakest Hilia be Tier Two?Must be an illusion.
Unaware of Mier’s thoughts, Hilia found Anarce’s contact and called directly, keeping her gaze on Mier.
Already exuding cold air, she planned to freeze Mier into a human popsicle once connected.
However, the wristband returned an unconnected signal.
