Chapter 365: The Hidden Powerhouse

Annie Rui lay in a corner of the battlements. More than a dozen horrific wounds covered his body.

He was beyond saving.

All around him lay the corpses of rebel soldiers.

Phield let out a long sigh and shook his head.

"Even though I never really liked your personality, you were a true man."

"When this war is over, I’ll report your achievements to Her Majesty."

Whether the Empress actually cared was another matter entirely, Phield thought to himself.

"Ophelia, lead the undead to reinforce Rosalia. Alice, burn down their siege towers."

Phield continued issuing orders with calm precision.

"The rest of you, hold your positions. They’re about to reach their limit."

The setbacks on the front lines turned Larson’s face ashen.

He gripped his riding whip so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

"Did they all take some kind of drug? Every single one of them is fighting like a madman. There’s no way this is how a noble army should fight."

"Clover, are you planning to keep hiding your Tier Three Divine Chosen until she grows mold?"

"Huh? That’s not true at all!"

Clover’s expression changed dramatically.

"H How did you know?"

"With brains like your undead, everyone knows. Even the stray dogs by the roadside know."

Larson laughed in exasperation before casually pointing at a servant holding his horse.

"You. Do you know?"

"Of course, sir."

The servant nodded immediately.

"She’s a beautiful lady with crimson hair wrapped in thorny vines. Miss Mushai has been bragging about her these past few days."

"Uh... well... um... sorry."

Clover awkwardly curled her toes against the ground.

She had originally wanted to keep Ava hidden to avoid being betrayed by the Shadow World Sect.

She never imagined they had already known everything.

Larson nearly exploded with anger.

"If your Tier Three Divine Chosen kills their Tier Three Divine Chosen, we can still turn this battle around."

"Do you not want to go home anymore?"

"Sister Ava, it’s your turn."

Left with no choice, Clover shouted toward the undead horde.

There was another reason she had kept Ava hidden.

Perhaps Ava was incredibly lucky.

Or perhaps unbelievably unlucky.

She had strengthened the same Divine Skill three separate times.

Once she used it, more than half of her divine power would be consumed instantly, leaving her unable to use any other Divine Skills for quite some time.

She would effectively become nothing more than a useless undead.

"Leave it to me."

A beautiful crimson haired Divine Chosen dressed in adventurer’s clothing finally stepped out from hiding.

She drew a compact ruby recurve bow and swiftly joined the front line of the archers.

Ava slowly steadied her breathing.

"Tier Three Divine Skill, Soul Devouring Arrow."

Dark crimson divine power gathered around the arrow.

An overwhelming force concentrated entirely upon its razor sharp tip.

Then it flew.

The arrow streaked through the battlefield like a phantom.

Despite possessing enough power to terrify anyone who sensed it, it traveled in complete silence.

Rosalia and her opponents had both exhausted enormous amounts of strength.

However, thanks to her immense reserves of divine power, she had gradually gained the upper hand.

Her greatsword unleashed overwhelming waves of annihilating sword energy that engulfed both Mushai and Veronica.

A series of thunderous explosions echoed across the battlefield as both women were blasted backward.

Crystal insect wings unfolded behind Rosalia.

She flashed forward with astonishing speed and appeared before Mushai before the latter had even landed.

Her greatsword came crashing down.

As divine power rippled outward, Mushai coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Damn it! Where are you getting so much divine power to keep using Divine Skills?"

Everything before Mushai’s eyes had become a blur.

"You can ask your companions in hell."

Just as Rosalia prepared to finish her off, a crimson streak flashed across the battlefield.

It was so impossibly fast that nobody could even see it clearly.

The arrow instantly shattered the dragon arm protecting Rosalia before piercing straight through her Divine Power Cloak and driving directly into her heart.

The pure destructive force contained within the tiny arrow immediately began ravaging her life force.

The divine power throughout her body spiraled completely out of control.

Rosalia’s star like eyes suddenly contracted.

The enhancement granted by Crimson Ascendancy instantly surged to its absolute limit.

Yet instead of becoming stronger, she found herself unable to summon even the slightest strength.

An overwhelming aura of death rapidly engulfed her.

Buzz...

The Greatsword of Gluttony erupted with countless crimson threads that desperately began repairing the wound.

Yet the damage inflicted by the tiny arrow was so horrifying that even the Greatsword of Gluttony could barely hold it at bay.

She needed time to recover.

But on the battlefield...

Every second could mean death.

The sudden attack had come so quickly that no one had been able to react.

Phield was the first to recover.

A sickly flush spread across his face.

"Quick! Support her by any means necessary!"

Although captured rebels had previously mentioned that another Tier Three Divine Chosen was hidden among the corrupted creatures, repeated probing throughout the battle had failed to lure her out.

He never imagined that the enemy’s very first move would be an outright killing blow without the slightest warning.

"So it was a hidden arrow too!"

Ashina’s heart skipped a beat.

"What a perfect opportunity."

Veronica laughed maniacally.

"Tier Three Divine Skill, Blood Shadow Spiral!"

"So we’ve really reached this point."

Mushai struggled back to her feet, spat out a mouthful of blood, and unleashed another surge of divine power.

"I actually have to fight three against one."

"Tier Three Divine Skill, Peerless War Roar!"

Rosalia tried to fight back.

But everything before her had become a fog.

That breathtaking arrow had not only devastated her body and divine power.

It had also struck directly at her mind.

"When you’re in danger, eat the Divine Artifacts immediately and come straight back."

Phield’s warning suddenly echoed through Rosalia’s mind.

Before the battle, he had casually handed her the Divine Artifact Telescope.

"A Tier Three Slaughter Divine Artifact? I’m only Tier One, so I can’t use it anyway. If you like it, just eat it."

Before the battle, Gherlos had also generously given her Jamie’s Divine Artifact whip.

"I can’t die yet."

"What will happen to everyone if I do..."

Rosalia took out the two Divine Artifacts before removing Broken Wings as well.

At this point, simply maintaining her recovery consumed an astronomical amount of divine power.

Keeping them would only become a burden.

The best choice was to devour them and replenish her strength.

Just as Mushai’s and Veronica’s attacks were about to reach her...

Suddenly!

Several Divine Skills streaked across the sky.

The unexpected assault startled both women, forcing them to evade immediately.

Using those precious moments, another enhancement descended upon Rosalia.

Her skeletal wings rapidly became covered in sapphire crystals.

She regained the power of flight.

"Sapphire Dragonification!"

The Sphere of the Abyss possessed by Ophelia could provide one additional special enhancement.

Feeling the divine power inside her body plummet at an alarming rate, Ophelia hurriedly shouted,

"Hey! Stop standing there! Get back to the fortress! My divine power can’t keep supporting you like this!"

"Okay."

Rosalia bit her lip and nodded.

Yet a cold smile slowly spread across her face.

"But I can’t just go back like this."

"I’m taking them with me."

With the temporary enhancement granted by Sapphire Dragonification, Rosalia barely recovered enough strength to rise into the air.

She fed all three Divine Artifacts to the Corrupted Dragon within her separate dimension.

No one among the rebels could understand what she was doing.

"What is she doing?"

Mushai asked with complete confusion.

"I don’t know."

Veronica’s fighting spirit only grew stronger as the blood aura around her almost became tangible.

"Bring her down immediately. We can’t let this drag on."

The rebels could not understand.

But Phield and Ashina understood instantly.

The moment Ashina finished releasing her Divine Skill, she immediately volunteered.

"My Lord, the enemy’s rear is exposed. Let me charge through it."

She continued,

"Their Tier Three Divine Chosen is hiding among the archers."

"If I can kill some of their important figures, all the better."

"Even if I can’t, as long as I force their Tier Three Divine Chosen to fall back, Rosalia’s situation will become much easier."

"You have permission."

Phield remained frighteningly calm as he watched Rosalia’s actions.

"Break in from the left flank. Never stop moving. Then break through from the right. Adapt according to the situation."

Since Rosalia had chosen not to retreat...

They had to trust her.

"Gogris, enhance the ballistae and bombard the enemy archers. Mark their position for Rosalia."
