The Invincible Strongest Student
Chapter 698: Medical Expenses
Dao’s three underlings are now lying beaten on the ground.
What surprised Lin Tian the most was Zhou Mi’s fighting prowess being unexpectedly strong.
It only took one face-off for her to take someone down, and the way he’s clutching his chest and groaning suggests he’ll need a few days in the hospital.
As for Dao himself, Lin Tian doesn’t even need to lift a finger. He’s already looking pretty miserable.
The onlookers aren’t just here for the spectacle; they enjoy kicking someone when they’re down. Dao’s foul mouth has earned him the anger of the crowd.
By now, the music in the bar has already stopped, and two men in security uniforms stepped into the dance floor.
"What’s happening here? Who’s causing trouble?" one of the security guards in front asked.
Truth be told, these two security guards don’t even remotely resemble professionals. They look more like hoodlums, standing crookedly with a swagger reminiscent of street toughs. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
The two guards stooped down to look at the three men still groaning on the floor, chuckled, and said, "These two are quite the fighters, aren’t they? Trained, it seems."
Before Lin Tian or Zhou Mi could speak, Dao took two steps forward, nodding and bowing before the guards and greeted them eagerly: "Hello, Ming. Hello, Tie."
After greeting them, Dao pointed at Lin Tian and Zhou Mi: "It’s these two who are out of line. I accidentally bumped into this chick earlier, and look what they did to my guys! You guys have to back me up here!"
Zhou Mi couldn’t stand it. She stepped forward, pointed at Dao’s nose, and angrily yelled, "How can you be so shameless? ’Accidental’? You clearly touched me on purpose!"
"Little girl, when you speak, you need evidence. You say I touched you on purpose, but no one saw it. What evidence do you have? In contrast, you guys beat up my men, and that’s something everyone here witnessed. If worst comes to worst, we’ll call the police, and they’ll slap you with disturbing the peace charges! You won’t just end up in a cell; you’ll also have to cover my men’s medical bills and emotional distress fees! Let’s say thirty grand combined for the three of them!"
Dao sneered at Zhou Mi, saying, "Little girl, you’ve never been to the slammer before, have you? I’ve got buddies in the police station, and I’ll make sure they treat you extra ’well.’"
Such shamelessness instantly incited the crowd’s anger.
Someone in the crowd let out a ’tsk,’ followed by more disdainful noises from the spectators.
In the eyes of the crowd, it was easy to distinguish the good guys from the bad ones. The man with the knife tattoo was undeniably bad, and the fiery beauty was definitely good.
Dao didn’t care about the jeers. These days, unless you have a thick skin, you won’t survive in society.
Zhou Mi ignored Dao and instead turned to the security guards, saying, "Gentlemen, it’s obvious he’s fooling around here. You guys are supposed to maintain order, right? Shouldn’t people like him be thrown out?"
Unexpectedly, the guards shook their heads and chuckled, "In matters like this, we only deal in evidence. Isn’t that how judges in court rule? You guys hit someone, we witnessed it, and it seems like you’re the ones causing trouble, right?"
The other guard stepped forward and grinned, "Hey, Tie, you can’t just say that. Even if she caused trouble, we should be cordial with such a pretty girl. Otherwise, which beauties would want to come here and have fun in the future, right? So, I think we should choose a middle ground."
"What’s the middle ground?" Zhou Mi asked.
"Simple. We don’t need to report you; let’s settle this privately. Miss, you hit them, and judging by the situation, they’re quite injured. No need to pay thirty thousand, let’s meet halfway at fifteen thousand to wrap it up," the security guard replied.
"Haha, Ming’s got great judgment," Dao nodded and groveled.
Zhou Mi was agitated, "Hey! Are you with them or what? Acting in collusion! Isn’t this extortion?"
Without Zhou Mi’s words, the onlookers had already figured it out. However, no one stepped up to help, unwilling to get involved in trouble.
Lin Tian stood aside, watching coldly. The situation was clear; those security guards were in cahoots with the thugs, and those three groaning men on the ground weren’t seriously hurt at all.
As for that fifteen thousand, calling it compensation is just extortion money. If they don’t pay, there’ll be trouble once they leave the bar.
Suddenly, Lin Tian stepped forward, positioning himself ahead of Zhou Mi, and said, "Let’s settle privately. As long as we pay, you won’t call the cops?"
"Of course," Dao nodded, smiling, but he couldn’t grasp Lin Tian’s meaning.
"I can pay fifteen thousand, even twenty thousand, but..."
Dao’s eyes lit up, "But what?"
"But the money is for your medical bills, not emotional distress fees."
"Medical bills will do, but shell out the cash!" Dao thought this kid was an idiot. Was there a difference? He still had to pay.
Lin Tian shook his head, "If it’s for medical bills... then the payment should be based on the injury. You’re not even hurt enough for one thousand yet. I’ll have to make sure you’re hurt enough to earn the payment."
Dao frowned, taking a couple of seconds to realize he was being played!
"You punk! Dare to mess with me? Do you know..."
Before Dao could finish, Lin Tian transformed into a blur, rushing forward and landing a punch on his chest.
Bang!
The punch had an astounding effect, sending Dao’s body flying through the air in a parabolic arch, landing heavily three meters away on the dance floor.
The spectators quickly stepped back, afraid of being hit.
Then Dao clutched his chest, his facial features distorting, and suddenly ’pfft,’ a mouthful of blood sprayed from his mouth.
This was real blood, not movie magic.
The punch had audiences gasping in amazement. Some even shouted, "Encore!"
Dao spat out more blood; did they think this was some kind of acrobatics show?
After that punch, Lin Tian didn’t pause; he rushed towards the three lying on the ground.
"Ah!"
Before Lin Tian could strike again, the three men scrambled up from the floor and hurried over to Dao’s side, looking perfectly healthy, far from being severely injured.
Instantly, everyone understood, these thugs were really running a racket.
Lin Tian didn’t chase after them; instead, he smiled and asked, "You don’t want the twenty thousand anymore? Haven’t even patched up your medical bills yet."
