The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 1809 - 828: The Journey Ahead
The doll’s words were like a bolt of lightning exploding in Rod’s mind. He urgently asked, "Is what you said true? How come I didn’t know about this ability? Why has the book never mentioned it?"
The Book of Knowledge looked equally shocked, "Aphro, how do you know this? Why can’t I remember?"
The doll calmly said, "Adorlis, this is a very special ability, used only once in the distant past by a Master of Dreams, and your soul has been worn away too much. Perhaps when you recover all the fragments of your soul, you might find traces of it in the remnants of your memory." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The Book of Knowledge flipped its pages anxiously. The ability to be completely resurrected is a very terrifying power, and the fact that it doesn’t know about such an important function makes it feel very frustrated, having always prided itself as the administrator of the Dream Realm.
"My soul is almost completely restored, with less than five percent missing, yet I’ve missed something so important. Master, quickly help me gather the rest of my soul; I can’t stand being in such an ignorant state."
At this moment, a fierce fire ignited within Rod, raising the priority of collecting the Dream Fragment to an unimaginable height.
No matter what price I have to pay, I must awaken the Dream Realm as soon as possible.
Rod silently made a resolution in his heart, then turned, looking at Qingyu, and said in a calm yet firm voice, "The King is not dead."
Qingyu raised his eyes, looking at Rod with confusion.
Rod did not explain, he merely walked to the Holy Fire, gazing at the golden flames burning brightly.
With the kindling he offered, the Holy Fire of Trolian had reached the limits of the Third Rank, but somehow, it surpassed this limit, for within it burned kindling known as "the King."
Through the Holy Fire, Rod could see it.
It was a strange mass of golden flame. It looked no different from the Holy Fire, but if one truly felt it, they would discover the distinction. It had a clear boundary from the Holy Fire, yet they resonated with each other.
The familiar Spiritual Energy waves spread from the flame, bearing the King’s mark, the distinct aura of the Source Heavenly God Throne echoing within. It was the King’s legacy.
At that moment, Rod knew that while the King had indeed fallen, he still existed in another form, protecting Trolian.
He could feel an enormous feedback carried within that flame, an invisible pressure that constantly channeled power back into the Holy Fire, blending its own flame bit by bit into it, and through the resonance of the Holy Fire, fortifying Qingyu’s soul.
Rod understood in his heart, perhaps this is why Qingyu can use his real name, just as the King said, he has not passed away. All the King’s backlash will be borne by him, and all great powers will be inherited by Qingyu.
"The King is not dead."
Rod simply repeated, without any explanation.
Qingyu then smiled, "Mm!"
Silence once again enveloped the Holy Fire Sacrificial Ground, but a consensus, a concept, had already formed in their hearts.
The King still watches over them, until the fire lightens the world.
——
After leaving the Holy Fire Sacrificial Ground, Rod directly returned to the Dream Realm.
Arriving at the Heavenly Sphere Clock, with a light touch of his fingertip, the giant clock began to rotate, and soon, the location of another Dream Fragment was revealed.
The Book of Knowledge took one look and exclaimed, "Isn’t that the coordinate left behind by the Giant King Omir?"
Rod felt his heart sink, noticing that the coordinates displayed on the Heavenly Sphere Clock were almost identical to those left to him by Giant King Omir.
"So, in the Giant Graveyard, not only is there the other half of the Giant Divine Sword, but also a Dream Fragment?"
The Book of Knowledge was overjoyed, "Isn’t this a good thing? Solving two problems at once!"
However, Rod was not so happy. Back in the Human Demon Tomb, the fragment of the Giant King Omir had warned him that his true form lay within the Giant Graveyard, extremely dangerous and not to be rashly approached.
Although he is now much stronger than before, there is no fundamental change.
Sure enough, the Book of the Future gave an "extremely dangerous" indication, with no change from the vision it once predicted.
"Damn it."
The Book of Knowledge sounded somewhat anxious, having been stuck for so long on the Dream Fragment in the Human Demon Tomb, it was still traumatized.
"Are we going to get stuck here again?"
The Book of the Future pondered, "Is Giant King Omir really that strong? Isn’t the first Candidate King of the Fire Path the Holy King?"
Rod glanced at the Book of Knowledge, noticing its poor mental resilience. Once it gets anxious, its intelligence drops sharply.
"I remember, back in the twisted Illusion Realm under the [Giant God Power], Giant King Omir seemed only to be a Half King."
"Absolutely not," the Book of the Future immediately refuted, "That tremendous destiny gravity, that terrifying twisted pollution, I have only seen on one existence, and that is the Human Demon... Although Giant King Omir may not be as dreadful as the Human Demon, he is of the same level. Clearly, Giant King Omir is a master of the Primordial power."
The Book of Knowledge flipped its pages, "Perhaps we can wait for the assistance from Saint Longde. As long as they arrive, Trolian will have enough power for defense, and Rhein can accompany us to the Giant Graveyard. His combat strength is very formidable, enough to defeat Giant King Omir."
