Looking at the bright green hat in the bag, Wang Dadong instantly felt like his whole world had collapsed.

Lin Shiyan really did give him a green hat.

"What’s wrong, Dadong, you don’t like it?" Lin Shiyan looked at Wang Dadong, a bit puzzled.

She’d given him a present; he was supposed to be happy.

Wang Dadong’s expression was a little ugly, but he didn’t explode. He just said flatly, "Little Yan."

"What is it?" Seeing Wang Dadong suddenly turn all serious, Lin Shiyan was a little at a loss.

"I know I’m not home a lot, I can’t really help you with your work, and I’m definitely not the perfect husband in your heart. If you don’t like me anymore, just tell me straight. There’s no need to hurt me like this." Seeing the green hat she’d given him, plus those ambiguous texts from before, Wang Dadong was already sure: Lin Shiyan had definitely cheated.

Otherwise, who the hell gives their own man a green hat?

"Dadong, what are you even talking about?" Lin Shiyan was completely dumbfounded by what he said.

Seeing her still acting all innocent, Wang Dadong let out a cold little laugh, waved the phone in his hand, and said, "Stop pretending. I’ve seen everything."

"Seen what?" Wang Dadong’s words, and that icy expression, made Lin Shiyan a bit scared.

"Lin Shiyan, I might as well be honest with you. I’ve got other women out there too, so you don’t need to feel guilty."

"I..."

"Don’t say anything. Let’s just get a divorce!" Wang Dadong sneered.

"Dadong, what the hell is wrong with you? I have no idea what you’re talking about!" This was the first time Lin Shiyan had ever seen such a cold look on his face directed at her.

"Take a look yourself." Wang Dadong handed the phone to her.

She picked up the phone and opened those texts.

"I—I don’t even know him." Lin Shiyan said through gritted teeth.

"Don’t know him? You don’t know him but you’re texting that ambiguously? On the verge of breaking down, and it’s not even the first time? Heh." Wang Dadong kept up the cold smile.

He hadn’t expected Lin Shiyan’s acting to be this good. She’d already sent him a green hat and could still put on this innocent-little-lamb expression.

"I really don’t know him..." At this point, she didn’t even know how to explain.

"Fine, you don’t know him, right? I’ll call him right now. Let’s see what you have to say then!" As he spoke, Wang Dadong snatched the phone from her hand and dialed the number that had texted her.

The call connected quickly.

...

"Wang Dadong, you’ve got balls, huh. You’ve got women outside now? Then why don’t you tell me, exactly which women are ’outside’?" On the sofa, Lin Shiyan had her two snow‑white legs crossed, squinting those beautiful eyes at him with a sharp, unfriendly gaze.

"W‑where would they be, there’s no such thing at all..." Sweat was starting to bead on Wang Dadong’s forehead. Damn it, this time he’d really walked right into it.

Turns out, just when he’d dialed that number, ready to expose her cheating, the other party had cussed him out the second they picked up.

"Are you coming to get your package or not? I can’t get you on the phone, you’re not answering texts either. If you don’t come, I’m sending it back!"

So the texts were from the courier.

Wang Dadong was on the verge of tears. Fuck. You’re just a delivery guy, why the hell were your texts written like some tragic love confession?

Seriously, fuck my life.

And now great, he’d just outed himself for having women outside.

"My dear wife, you gotta believe me. I only said that to piss you off. I’m such a pure, innocent guy, I would never go out there and Luan Lai." Feeling the murderous aura coming off of Lin Shiyan, Wang Dadong swallowed hard.

"Fine, I’ll take your word for it... for now." He’d thought he was dead for sure, but unexpectedly, that’s what she said.

"Wifey, you’re the best!" Wang Dadong was so excited he lunged over, ready to hug the CEO‑big‑wife’s long white legs.

However, she lifted one foot and planted it on his chest, her beautiful eyes glinting with cold light. "But you actually don’t trust me that much. You suspected me. You even said you wanted to divorce me!"

Watching her face grow darker and darker, Wang Dadong felt like even breathing was getting hard. He lowered his voice and said, "My dear wife, you can’t really blame me... Who told you to give me a green hat..."

Damn it, if you hadn’t happened to give me a green hat, I wouldn’t have misunderstood.

"Green hat? Who told you it was a green hat?" With a huff, Lin Shiyan pulled the hat out of the bag.

When he saw the color of the hat, Wang Dadong was instantly dumbstruck.

Because the hat in her hand wasn’t green at all—it was blue.

B‑but earlier he’d clearly seen it as green.

What the actual hell was going on?

Just as Wang Dadong was baffled, the hat in her hand turned red.

"It’s a color‑changing hat. It’s a new product from a company working with Shiyan’s firm. It’s not even on the market yet. I thought it was fun, so I brought one back for you." As she spoke, the hat changed color again.

So it was a damn color‑changing hat. A scammy color‑changing hat at that. Of all the colors in the world, you just had to flash green, making me think my wife was literally giving me a green hat...

At this point, "fuck my life" wasn’t enough to cover what Wang Dadong was feeling.

It was more like he’d just fucked a giant turtle.

"So, uh, my dear wife, I was wrong. Please forgive me..." Wang Dadong said miserably.

At this point, any explanation was pointless. Better to apologize sincerely—maybe he’d still get forgiveness.

"Forgiving you isn’t impossible, but..." Lin Shiyan blinked her eyes.

"But what? As long as you forgive me, I’ll accept any conditions." Wang Dadong said quickly.

"Don’t be so quick to agree." She suddenly smiled sweetly.

"My dear wife, whatever you say—climb a mountain of blades, dive into a vat of boiling oil, I won’t even blink!" Wang Dadong declared firmly.

Anyway, the CEO‑big‑wife couldn’t really make him do that, so he could brag all he wanted.

She nodded with a smile. "All right then. Our company is about to launch a men’s skincare line. You can be the model."

"Me? For a men’s skincare line? Shouldn’t you be looking for some pretty‑boy, girly little fresh meat? I’m such a rough, manly guy, that really doesn’t fit..." Wang Dadong’s face twitched.

"It’s fine, I think you’re perfect. Look at your skin—it’s almost as tender as mine. Don’t worry, we’ll put a mosaic over you when the time comes." She gently pinched his cheek, smiling.

To earn his wife’s forgiveness, Wang Dadong decided to swallow his pride. A model’s a model. If they were going to pixelate him anyway, he wasn’t afraid of being recognized.

"So, uh, my dear wife, can I ask what kind of skincare product it is?" he asked weakly.

"Men’s cleansing wash."

Wang Dadong: "..."
